Three Tee's Bar and Grill - Chicken Fried Steak

Happened to have a to-go steak salad on a Saturday and the steak was absolute bomb. Less so when on the flat-top on a weekday, but was appreciative of the effort and kind service. Chicken fried steak, pie, and tots were also great! Catch the weekend steak if you can, though.

It's in the golf course, and I guess the restaurant is in the club house. When you walk in, there is a pool table room. It's a pretty spacious room for a pool table, not cramped at all like so many other bars. The next room is the bar and restaurant seating. I like the booths along the wall; it adds privacy as you eat. Stormy was our server, and she was absolutely excellent. She was super attentive and eager to answer any questions we had about the menu. We ordered fried pickles as an appetizer, and Stormy brought them to us quickly with homemade ranch dressing. They were nice and hot with just a bit of spice. The pickles were very good and as I'm writing this I'm craving more. For dinner, I ordered cheese fries and a side salad. The salad was good, typical iceberg lettuce, and great croutons. My cheese fries were just OK; I would've liked them more crispy, but the fries themselves looked hand cut with just a bit of skin on them. This restaurant doesn't have much for vegetarians, but Stormy was happy to help with the menu. I think next time I will try some other things on the menu; most of the sides are vegetarian. The bar looks like a full bar. They do offer bottled beverages too. I had a margarita-style bottled drink, and it was pretty good. My friend had a mixed drink, but I'm not sure what it was. I was happy to try this place. It serves very typical dive bar food, but there are also a few things on the menu that isn't typical. I can say the prices are rather high for the area. I'll probably be back sooner rather than later for more fried pickles!

It gave the choice of Makers Mark or Wild Turkey. My first drink was Makers, a second I chose Wild Turkey (first one was in my opinion quite weak). I can't recall ever having a problem so I had the server run the check without looking at it. When it came back, (at the suggestion of my wife) I did look it over. Both drinks were billed at $13.50. I informed the server, and she claimed that when the drink order is punched in, it puts in a higher charge for what is considered a "call" or "top shelf". The problem as you can see here is the advertised price is stated for the ones I ordered per the published price. I find it strange that it took quite a bit of back and forth with server and shift manager to explain something that is black-and-white. To their credit (after the back and forth) they refunded the difference, but how long has this been going on? How many people have been mistakenly over charged? A week? A month? A year? A quick check on Oklahoma's consumer protection and weights and measures law said this is a serious problem. No drama here, just fact: The menu said an Old Fashioned using Wild Turkey is $10.50, the bill was $13.50. That is deceptive plain and simple.

After several stops along the Mother Road, my wife and I were hungry--but we still had a long drive home. We decided to split lunch and debated between the chicken-fried steak dinner and the chicken-fried steak sandwich. Either way, chicken-fried steak was going to happen! The sandwich won, and it was an excellent choice. As a self-appointed chicken-fried steak connoisseur who has sampled them across Oklahoma, I can confidently say this one ranks near the top. The steak was tender, the breading was perfectly crisp, and they added just the right amount of mayo. Nothing fancy--just a really well-made and delicious sandwich. We also ordered fried okra, which arrived before the sandwich. It was piping hot, crispy, and cooked exactly the way fried okra should be. We happily munched on it while waiting for the main event. Natasha provided friendly, attentive service and brought us an extra plate so we could easily divide the sandwich and fries. Those small touches make a difference. The Route 66 décor and classic diner atmosphere added plenty of character. It felt like the perfect place for our final road-trip meal before heading home. Clinton is a little over an hour and a half from our house, and I would gladly make the drive again--especially since breakfast is my thing and that menu still needs to be explored! Passport or not, Route 66 Café at the Market is worth seeking out. Order the chicken-fried steak sandwich, don't skip the fried okra, and make sure you bring your appetite!

From the outside, the branding leans heavily into the Route 66 identity--logos are everywhere, setting the expectation for a nostalgic roadside dining experience. Stepping inside, however, the atmosphere takes a different direction. Rather than embracing classic Americana, the décor feels modern, highlighted by whimsical cow artwork adorned with flower crowns. It's charming in its own way, but not the vintage Route 66 ambiance I was expecting. One thing that deserves high praise is the cleanliness. The café is immaculate, from the dining room to the overall presentation, reflecting a team that clearly takes pride in maintaining the restaurant. The food, unfortunately, was less memorable. The oatmeal was overly thick and dry, lacking the creamy comfort you'd expect. Buttered toast carried an off flavor, suggesting the griddle or butter station could use a refresh. The signature pancake, dusted with a powdered sugar "66" logo, was visually appealing and easily the meal's most Instagram-worthy item, but it too was disappointingly dense. Where Cafe 66 truly shines is its service. Every staff member I encountered was warm, welcoming, and eager to help first-time visitors feel at home. Their hospitality left the strongest impression of the visit. In my opinion, Cafe 66 seems to be transitioning away from being a destination built on Route 66 nostalgia and toward becoming a dependable neighborhood café for the Clinton community. There's nothing wrong with that--in fact, it's probably the more sustainable business model. But travelers seeking an authentic trip back in time may leave feeling that the iconic branding promises more nostalgia than the dining experience ultimately delivers.

Husband said that for a BBQ place to make it in rural Oklahoma, it has to be good. And he was right. The outside is very welcoming, cute bench and foliage around a nice patio in front. The inside is sparkling clean and simple. They do a good carry out business but we ate in. I deeply regret not bringing some carryout back with us, it was that good. Brisket and pork were juicy, full of good flavor, and delicious, portions were plentiful. Husband also ordered a hot link which was perfectly spiced. Our entrees came with a fresh piece of soft white bread which was perfect with the hot BBQ sauce. Our meals came with regular BBQ sauce but when I requested hot sauce, he brought some spicy BBQ out and it was fantastic. They also threw some sliced fresh onion on our meats. The guy who waited on us was one of the owners and he told us the sides were made from scratch so we had a few: Cole slaw (some of my favorite of all time), potato salad (in Oklahoma, they mash potato salad like mashed potatoes, it was mustardy, mashed, & tasty), pea salad (amazing!), Mac & cheese (yum!), and a baked potato with butter and some sort of house seasoning on it (fresh and delicious). We ate every single bite and loved it! Prices were extremely reasonable, we got a meat with 2 sides and bread for only $9.95 and it was a ton of food. This is a family owned place and you can tell they take a ton of well deserved pride in their food. Carnegie is a good 45 minutes from home but you bet we will be back!
