The French toast croissant breakfast sandwich was SO good. Croissant was crispy and soft on the top, and the bottom was more similar to French toast. The ham was actual ham, not just some sliced cold cuts. Absolutely delicious. Idk if I'll ever be in Clinton again but if I am I'll be getting this bad boy again. With a beer from the attached Long-Bell Brewing, I had dinner this evening at Strayhouse and it was lovely. Sitting in the corner with my laptop next to a power outlet, a beer turned into a second beer and then dinner. Wifi worked well and two hours later, I was ready to head out to get parked for the night. Dinner was chili and jalapeno cornbread. It went especially well with the "Tres Banditos" Mexican lager. We were driving from Arizona to Missouri and were looking for a place for a simple sandwich and low and behold, thanks to Yelp, we came across Strayhouse Kitchen! Looking for a quick healthy lunch and we ended up in Strayhouse Kitchen. So glad we did. I chose the pick 2 and included half A-BLT (Avocado on a BLT sandwich) and a cup of broccoli chowder soup. Everything was great. Veggies fresh. Soup very tasty with a bit of melted cheddar cheese. Pick two also came with a bag of chips (several varieties). Husband had the Cobb salad (also came with chips) and a glass of lemonade. OMG the lemonade was fabulous. Fresh squeezed. Served in a mason jar with lemon wedge on the side. I am hoping someone might check this and reach out to me. I really loved this coffee shop-- Strayhouse was my favorite in the area. It was a little taste of the third wave coffee shops I miss back in Dallas and LA. I was so saddened to see they closed just months after I moved back to Western Oklahoma. I'm really kicking myself that I never bought any merchandise thinking I always had more time and was hoping I could get my hands on some if there is any left. We started at this restaurant because we had some friends that used to live in Clinton and they said nice things about it. We lucked out because they were serving breakfast all day. This place looks awesome! The have lots of plants and cool lighting. The coffee is good but expensive. And they have a really weird system of up charging for milk. The food is ok but loaded with mayo. And for some reason the southwestern sandwich has Sriracha on TOP of the bread. So it's not possible to eat like a sandwich. You need to cut it with a knife and fork. Weird. The muffin was good. The woman working the counter was nice. But there was a manager or something who was very eager to step in and make sure we understood that a splash of milk in an americano would be an extra charge of $1.50. read more

Such a gem. If you ever find yourself passing through Clinton, Oklahoma, you need to stop by. I loved both of the teas I tried and the food. The matcha was some of the best I've had in awhile. The coffee is locally roasted and it is such a delightful oddity for Southwest Oklahoma. The employees were all kind and engaging. They also have a super cute store with some eclectic gifts if you are in need of some random but wonderful things. I was not expecting to be so impressed. Found this on Yelp as we were looking for a breakfast (besides the chain store breakfast ) This place looks iffy outside, but it's a made over lumber store! Inside is very nice although super casual. Tables made out of the leftover lumber. The menu is not extensive, but good choices. I got an egg, cheese and bacon panini and it was fairly large. Hot chocolate was pretty good. I'm waiting to get a pumpkin bread-we'll see how that is. It looked good! Traffic was constant, so it seems it has good business. I'd say it's worth driving a couple of minutes off I40 if you're looking for a good brunch. Take exit for highway 183 I forget the exit number. read more

Found this gem in Clinton, just briefly off the highway, not too far of a deviation. Very local, friendly, boho, freewheeling kind of place. The vibe is what you want in a coffeehouse, a beautiful relaxing space with a big front window to let in natural light. The times I've ordered food, it was always really good. I didn't know I like pimento cheese until I had their house made pimento & chicken sandwich, it's not on their menu anymore but it was very good. I've had their americano, latte, & cortado; they were all really good. With the addition of a brewery next door, under the same roof, Airbnbs added on opposite side of the coffeehouse, it seems Clinton has landed on our list of quick fun over night trips. Clever little place with REALLY GOOD locally roasted coffee, made on a La Marzocco. Cute merch, some lovely cinnamon rolls and cookes were all that was left 20 min before closing. The barista wouldn't let me take a pic of the cinnamon rolls, which were flaking, but she'd have sold me one if I was buying... so that's not the most integrity-based sales principle, but I give it a shrug because the coffee was worth the trip off the highway. Stray Gouse is thematically on point with a consistent brand, from the decor and coffee specials to the music and the staff.
