We found Strayhouse Kitchen +Coffee using Yelp. We liked the menu so we decided to give it a try. I went inside to place a to go order since we were traveling. Everyone was very nice and helpful. I ordered an iced latte which was delicious and made perfectly. The sandwiches were excellent. My boyfriend who's Italian was impressed by how good the espresso was and highly recommends it. If you're looking for a friendly and relaxed atmosphere with helpful employees who also make great food then this is it! I wish we lived closer but I'll definitely be back if I travel this way again. Great Food. Better than Starbucks on their coffees. I had the tomato bisque soup and it was light with an almost exploding flavor. The "Usual" was loaded with meat and cheese and a unique tomato garlic mayo that was a true compliment to the sandwich (not overwhelming garlic). Wife had "Sugar Baby" salad and I finished off what she could not eat! Lots of stuff on the salad. Tasty! Overall, I have also eaten at a lot of restaurants (from Alaska to Florida and Pennsylvania to Southern California) and the food here is memorable and worth the price IMHO.... Stopped in for a coffee and quick bite! Really good sandwiches, but everything seemed to have meat. So i had to pick that off (im vegetarian). The coffee and house chai were very yummy. I'm a hard person to impress when it comes to food. I've eaten at some of the finest restaurants. I've been know to take vacations planned around the restaurants in the area. I'm saying all that so that you'll know that I'm spoiled when it comes to food. I'm rarely impressed and don't do reviews... until now. It's a small menu and I've only tried one thing so far, the gent. But I have to say, it was amazing. The environment is clean and well designed and the staff here was very friendly. We both had side salads. All was excellent. Avoided the pastries, but they were very tempting. This is good grub. If you like roast beef, get the Gent sandwich. The tomato bisque soup is also terrific. The atmosphere is rustic and simple (lots of raw wood). Staff is friendly and helpful. This is my favorite daytime restaurant and coffee shop. Wherever I go when traveling I always look for a coffee shop and compare the coffee. In all the time I've been going to Strayhouse (almost every day) I have yet to find a comparable coffee. My fave during the summer is their homemade cold brew with a glunck of heavy cream. Winter is americano with heavy cream. There's is nothing better anywhere I have been!! read more

Drip coffee was great. They had a lighter choice for me and a darker for my husbands taste. A little higher priced than just stopping for coffee. It was so worth the cost. Glad we stopped! Just what Clinton needed. Great coffee and food with a cozy, fun atmosphere. My only complaint is the hours. They don't open until 8 and then close at 4, so there's no time to get coffee before work, and no time to get coffee after work. They claim to have gourmet sandwiches, but after waiting 30 minutes to get our food, it was not only a basic cold sandwich, it was nothing like the description on the menu. When I took it back, the girl at the front said she had never read their menu so didn't know what was supposed to be on it. The place has a very good atmosphere, staff was very friendly and receptive. However, the 2 sandwiches we bought (the Steer) were not of very good quality ( as in the beef was tough and chewy like low grade chuck roast with no seasoning, and fairly small in size). The side salads would have been outstanding except the cherry tomatoes were soft with a wrinkled appearance; the poppy seed dressing was great, and the variety of greens was also good. Overall I am very dissapointed with this eatery that a local recommended to us. Two sandwiches and two side salads for 32 dollars is a very steep price for a subpar lunch. read more

Wow. I drove into Clinton on business and wasn't really looking forward to my food options. I saw the picture of the cake they were serving on yelp and decided to try it out for lunch. Call me impressed, Clinton. I felts transported to midtown in OKC. A very cool vibe hit me when I walked in Strayhouse. I got just a classic turkey and cheese with bacon and garlic mayo and it was phenomenal! I ended up trying there Oreo cake and it's wasn't as great as I had imagined but my lunch blew me away. I got a Carmel latte macchiato for the road and I will def be stopping by tomorrow. 10/10 recommend. And there was the cutest yoga studio next door, Clinton is so hip, I love it! read more

This is a wonderful, hidden gem in Clinton, OK! I found it on yelp while trying to seek a place between our stops to get some coffee and refuel. Clinton might be a small town, but it is definitely worth stopping through! The coffee stop is small and unique, brimming with wonderful foods and drinks. The iced latte was exceptional, as was the hot chai. The pastries were a little dry, but even so were still delicious. My mother and I noted the entire time how amazing it was that Strayhouse was so popular and serviced in such a small town. Stopped in for coffee as we were traveling through Oklahoma. Great coffee, friendly wait staff, and loved the environment of the shop and the area of town. Negative was we had to wait over 25 minutes for 3 lattes and a frapp. Not sure if they were understaffed or it's their business model, the barista would quit making our drinks every time a new customer can in to order. Incredibly overpriced. At least $2-4 more expensive per cup than Starbucks or any other coffee house...$7 for a cup or coffee is ridiculous.

If you live anywhere in reach of this place, you probably already know it and love it (how could you not??), but if you live somewhere totally different and are only passing through, perhaps because you are on the way showing your horses or exploring the wonders of America, by any chance, if you have any free time, make it out there and sit for a moment and have something from this place. It is soooo fantastic in the most unlikely place! As you may know or have noticed the area is farmland and wonderful ochre coloured sunsets and one would not expect a spacious modern youthful cafe-palace smack in the middle of it, not unlike a fully decorated Christmas tree in the middle of the Siberian Taiga. The difference to that Christmas tree is, that whilst nobody can admire the tree due to lack of an audience, this place those in the know can admire and enjoy. First of all you have a huge ceiling in a large room, which makes you feel free and relaxed (unless you have extreme agoraphobia, then perhaps not). You get specialty coffees and fantastic cakes and pies (go for the apple pie, you deserved it, with whipped cream), and then you will have the option of real cutlery, and the cups are not only wonderful, but handmade from a (correct me if I misunderstood?) local potter, and magnificent. If you absolutely are addicted to plastic and paper, they have those, too, but perhaps think of the planet, environmental pollution and perhaps avoid. Staff is young, lovely and friendly, no less. Total recharge-my-batteries- place, go and check it out, simply for the pleasant surprise, if no other reason! read more
