This place was absolutely awesome. I stopped by for dinner one day by myself. I was quickly seated, and the waiter was really quick to bring chips and salsa. After five seconds I was asked what I would like to drink. I ordered some cheese dip with jalapeño. Both of those came quickly and I was really surprised at how nice everyone was. Disappointing Catering Experience from a Usually Reliable Spot We've been regular family customers here for years and love the food, so I was excited to use them for catering my private event last Saturday. I ordered a $168 build-your-own fajita bar with three protein options (including shrimp, chicken, and steak), expecting separate containers so guests could customize their plates. Unfortunately, everything arrived mixed together in one large silver pan: all three meats combined with the fajita onions and peppers. This made it impossible for guests to build their own fajitas as intended, especially problematic for those with allergies who avoid certain items (like shrimp on top of chicken). The steak was also extremely tough and overcooked, to the point where most people couldn't eat it ! As a result, many guests skipped the catering entirely, and I had to quickly order food from elsewhere to ensure everyone was fed. It felt like a significant miss for an event where presentation and customization matter. When I called to speak with the manager about the issue, the response was dismissive, with no apology, explanation, or offer to make it right no refund, credit, or gesture of goodwill for a long-time repeat customer. I don't want to discourage anyone from dining in (the restaurant is usually great for that), but I strongly recommend -avoiding the catering. This was a letdown for what should have been a fun, brag-worthy experience. If the restaurant improves their catering prep (e.g., keeping proteins separate) and handles concerns more empathetically then I will try them again read more

Nice little Mexican place in a strip center. Was a great choice to stop at on our way home from Atlanta.

This place used to be the local watering hole and had AMAZING food. After the Fairburn road owners got divorced and started another location (1 pp) they both suck! The produce is always wilted and blah. The beans are watery and have zero flavor. The taco meat is terrible now. They're still generous with the cheese which is great but I suspect it's to cover the bland food. Honestly, it would be great if it would jazz it all up again but I don't see it happening. read more

I've been to Monterrey numbers of times. I do enjoy their food. Their salsa is really good as it tastes fresh and has a nice spice to it. Unfortunately it took my order almost 2 hours to be completed, but it was Cinco de Mayo and everyone was ordering takeout as they're dining room was closed due to Covid-19. I wish they were better prepared and organized, as we were all confined in a small space and waiting for a long time. I thankfully had my masks on, but there was definitely no social distancing going on or regulation by the staff. I ordered through Grub Hub pickup as delivery was disabled due to the amount of orders coming in. I think it was eventually disabled for pickup as they were rather behind on their orders. I'm not really mad at them though, and can only imagine how stressed the staff was. They were definitely doing their best given the circumstances, and I should've known to order way earlier. I enjoyed my food though when I got home though, and as long as I got my food, I was happy. My only complaint was the lack of organization and would say next time they should try to think about how to better execute. read more

We absolutely love this place. The food is verey flavor full. They have an amazing pineapple tequilla that is so smooth. The shots are $10 each. Chips and salsa is one of the better I've tasted at Mexican restaurants and is always fresh. Just happened to be in Douglasville and decided to drop in for lunch. Food was fresh and the drinks are strong. They have partitioned off some of the seating booths for Covid-19 compliance. I am giving this establishment a 2 star rating even though I've only been there once most recently and do not plan to revisit. I ordered the 3 burrito combo (3 different sauces) with beans and rice. Easy dish, right; no frills! Margarita on the rocks with salt for my drink. You can get better salsa at the local grocery store. Entrée was sparse but most importantly cold! Also just tasteless. The margarita - I always enjoy a little salt on the tongue with the first sip BUT the salt was sealed somehow to the rim and would not come off/release. As though they used a display glass used for a visual. Even when moistened, it didn't budge nor did it give off the expected salty taste! I can't explain it beyond that. Very weak! just the color was there! My take is this place is somewhere for the local locals to hang out. They are in business for the spirits for sure. We could have walked out without paying if we were of that character and no one would have noticed or cared. Staff was busy chasing the tables of large parties or those out to run a tab. When I opened the first set of doors, I wasn't sure if I was walking into a restaurant or someone's house, but don't let the doors deter you from walking in. It's a bit dim inside, but the restaurant has a traditional Mexican feel to it with lots of TVs so you can watch the game. We had a slight language barrier with our waiter, but another waiter assisted with anything he didn't understand. We were served chips and salsa while our orders were prepared. The queso was a little runny, but there was ton or steak, shrimp and chicken in our bowl which was a plus. The street corn was good and after we requested pico de gallo, sour cream and extra cheese our tacos were delicious. We didn't realize the tacos only came with lettuce and cheese with cilantro and onions on the side. The shrimp taco was my favorite and it was well seasoned. Everything about my experience here was just alright. We came in on a Tuesday night around 830pm or so. Not very packed but the service would've made you think it was. There were several servers so the slow service wasn't because they were understaffed. We were seated quickly but it took a minute for someone to come over. At the time, I wasn't ready to order my food yet so we said we needed a minute. He didn't come back for a good 20 minutes or so we flagged him down and he looked at me confused as if he didn't know why I was flagging him down. We ordered and it took about 20 minutes or so to be prepared. During that time I had to flag him down again to get another shot. He never came over to check on us. Our tacos were ok. Nothing stood out. We again had to flag him down to get our checks and he stood over me while I signed the check. Anyway, I won't be back. Poor customer service!! Shrimp were not fresh, they tasted nasty. Went there about a week ago on Fairburn Rd. My friend & I had the Texas rice. It comes with grillled shrimp,steak and chicken over rice with cheese. During the meal we noticed that the shrimp tasted funny and asked for the mgr. He came over and said that nothing was wrong with the shrimp he had some earlier. We told them yes there was. We asked for fresh dish without the shrimp. He told my friend ok she also had a to go order already wrapped up she ordered previously. He told me that I had eaten half of my plate which was not true. My friend had more to begin with and I would have to pay for mine. He would not fix me another one. I had already stopped eating and had pulled the shrimp out. He told me I would have to pay anyway. I told him I was not. I'll pay half price but not for the full meal. He said no, he'll take off 10% I said no. He said he'll call the police I told him to go ahead. First of all, what kind of mgr argues with a customer if they told them something is wrong with the food. Especially shrimp (foodpoisoning#salmonella) that Fool!! Any other real restaurant mgr would have not argued with a customer. Why would anyone lie about that? Go figure only an A-hole would. I should have told him I was going to call the health inspector.
