Went on a Saturday around 12:30 PM. We were there for about an hour and a half (mostly because we were catching up), and during that time only two other parties came in and both ordered takeout. We ordered two margaritas (a Henny margarita and a house strawberry margarita), six Rockefeller oysters, the Phenomenal Sampler (catfish nuggets, salmon bites, and fried shrimp), plus I added okra and coleslaw. My mom had the shrimp tacos. We also had two waters. Our total came to about $130, which included the automatic gratuity. The price was definitely higher than I expected. That said, the food was excellent! I genuinely enjoyed everything I ordered. I don't even eat oysters, but the Rockefeller oysters smelled so good they almost convinced me to start! If the pricing were a little more reasonable, this would easily be a 5 star review. read more

I gave them 2 previous tries and it was a dissatisfied experience. it's sad to see nothing has changed in almost 2 years. First impression visit. Party of 12. 5:30PM on a Saturday. Free parking lot! No validation required. Easy to park. We ordered the crab cake, rockafeller oysters, Calamari, fried whiting with corn and coleslaw, fried oysters with Zucchini fries and fried corn, crab legs, and salmon with cajun rice and fried corn. I paid for everything except the calamari and the fried oysters and my total was $92.91 before tip. Pros There was music playing. Enough to hear and dance to but can still have a conversation. The environment and contemporary decor is nice. The service was great. Our waiter, Dashawn, is kind and attentive. He made us feel like we were his only table, which is hard to do with a large party. He was always there when a drink was needed and we never waited too long before he would show up again to ask if everything was okay. The food is good. My salmon was grilled perfectly and the portion sizes on the fried fish are huge. On the fried whiting, we received 3 fried fillets as long as the plate along with the 2 sides. The fried corn was interesting and I thought it was delicious. It gave a savory crunch to the sweet corn inside and the coating wasn't too thick. Cons 20% gratuity on all tables AND to go orders. Please note there are rules with this establishment. The calamari was seasoned very well but it wasn't as hot as I thought it should be. It was warm- not cold but not hot. This is a small restaurant that I'm happy to discover. I was invited to an event and we had a good time. They play live music and the dj takes requests. The food was really good. Everyone's food looked delicious. I ordered grits and salmon croquettes. The grits were creamy and amazing! I also had a pina colada margarita and it was good and strong. Popped up on a Thursday for their karaoke night. This is a local spot I've been meaning to go to in Austell because I was considering it for my birthday party and I've heard the food is truly amazing. I arrived around 8 PM and the place was pretty packed. Most tables were taken and the bar was full. I told the hostess it was a party of 1 and she found me a spot with some other ladies at the high top table. The menu had lots of options for seafood, cocktails and dessert. I ordered the Bob Marley to drink, grilled shrimp with Old Bay to start and the fried whiting with dirty rice & broccoli for dinner. The kitchen works very fast and food came out quickly. The seasoning, taste and presentation were on point. I ordered a second drink and it must have been a different bartender because it was totally different than the first pictured and was not great. They lost a star on this - it was a smaller oz size, no fruit garnish and still cost me $16.50. For a party of 1 - my total bill was over $70 with the 15% gratuity included. You can pay with the server or via the Toast app using the QR code. Beyond that - the DJ and music were great, karaoke was fun and a few people were celebrating their birthdays. Our group of six retired Cobb County Sheriff's Office family members gets together every couple of months to enjoy dinner and catch up. Based on a recommendation, we decided to try Phenomenal Seafood on Saturday night. First, I want to give credit where it's due. The food was delicious, and our waitress was professional, polite, and did her best under the circumstances. Unfortunately, the overall experience was extremely disappointing. When we called to make our reservation, no one informed us that a live band would be performing or that there would be a mandatory $10 entertainment fee per person. Had we been told this in advance, we would have chosen a different night to visit. Our purpose was to enjoy a relaxing dinner and spend quality time catching up with one another, not attend a ANNOYINGLY loud entertainment venue. After we were seated, we noticed a band setting up. We were then informed that the $10 entertainment fee per person would automatically be added to our bill. Once the band began playing, the music was so incredibly loud that our group could no longer have a conversation. We couldn't even place our food orders without practically yelling across the table to our waitress. It completely defeated the purpose of our dinner gathering. The environment became so uncomfortable that we decided to ask for our meals to be packaged to go. While waiting, we noticed our food sitting on another table while our waitress was busy taking someone else's order, causing additional delays. One of the ladies in our group began recording our experience from our table. We observed the manager and another employee pointing toward our table, yet no one came over to ask if there was a problem or offer any assistance. There was absolutely no attempt to address our concerns. As we were leaving, we overheard several other customers on the patio expressing similar complaints about their experience. I took the opportunity to speak with a supervisor about what had happened. Unfortunately, no accountability was taken, no apology was offered, and no effort was made to accommodate our concerns. To make matters worse, in addition to the mandatory $10 entertainment fee per person, a 20% gratuity was also automatically added to our bill. While the food itself was excellent, customer service is about more than the meal. It's about creating an enjoyable experience and responding appropriately when customers have legitimate concerns. Sadly, that did not happen here. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant. We left feeling UNHEARD, OVERCHARGED, and DISAPPOINTED. read more

First, let me say I really enjoyed the food. The fish and fries were very, very good. The macaroni and dessert were just okay, but the fish more than made up for it. That said, there were a few things that caught me off guard. I requested water but wasn't informed it would be a $5 Smartwater. Also, the item I ordered was $4 more in the restaurant than what is shown on the website menu. The prices there need to be updated to reflect this. I also didn't expect automatic gratuity for a party of one, in addition to an extra fee for using a credit card instead of cash. The bottled water, the $4 menu difference (online vs. in person), and the credit card fee increased my bill by $10-$12. I'm a generous tipper, but I wasn't inclined to tip extra with the mandatory gratuity and these additional charges. Overall, I would recommend this place. However, I do think greater transparency would be appreciated by customers. read more

I like this place and have been here a few times but what happened today was disappointing. Their waitstaff needs to be trained a lot better. My husband and I came in on a Wednesday afternoon for the oyster special. I asked our waitress which oysters on the menu are $2? She responded, " all of them!" So we ordered a dozen of the Phenomenal oysters being that they were only $2. ** I almost forgot to mention once she served our food, she never came back. She just sat a table in the back and I had to call her over so that I could order dessert and get the check. Wasn't a fan of the Phenomenal oysters because it was too much of the toppings but we tried it because we thought it was $2 so the risk was worth it. Well when we received the check it was an additional $18 for the extras on the oysters (sauce and crab). We reiterated to the waitress that she told us ALL the oysters were $2 and we need to speak to the manager. Instead of going to get the manager she told us that the manager would tell us the same thing. She should've told her manager to come over to at least speak with us. The food was PHENOMENAL! As the name intends. The seasoning was absolutely divine, the seasonings really reminds me of homemade southern cooking. I can't believe a place like this would be this far up north! The staff were so nice and the manager was a really cool guy! We ordered two different burgers they were large and well seasoned. Cooked as ordered. The venue is chilled and nice. A nice place for a solid meal or a decent drink. The live band (Traffic Jam) performance was excellent. However we were told it was a cover charge of $10 per person. I did not see any signs or notices, it was told to us by our waiter. Our waiter name was Devin he said the co-owner insisted on the "cover charge". He also said the tips are split with the bar and kitchen staff, implying he would like his own tip. He informed us that if they did not collect it at the door then it would be added to the check. However it was not on the check when we paid. There were two different totals on the check 1. cash transaction or 2. credit card transaction. We paid the check with credit and gave additional cash tip. A few minutes later our waiter came back to collect "the cover charge". Personally I'm doubtful about this cover charge. Would we return.... This time, I walked into the restaurant to place my order and they charged $2 for a "to go fee". They don't tell you they charge a to go fee for your order. So, not knowing, I provided a $6 tip for (2) $8.99 catfish nuggets. They got over 30% tip out of me. I don't care if it's $1! They are showing they are going to get the extra out of you...regardless.
