Matt was very flexible during the reschedule process and we settled on mid July not knowing what the future holds.

Open up generic cans of industrial sized vegetables no seasoning in that awful steam table water similar to school cafetreria grade food is what is served,. Blah blah blah. Pressed meat molded from another tin which you are served paper thin slices at the "carving station'. Oh and we were given 1 small table of rubbery meatballs no sauce, bacon wrapped pencil erasers (scallops) and some kind of mushy turnover flattened and gross with cheeze whiz congealed inside. I am not sure what that was. If my 12 year old was asked to do the service that is what the "chef" heated up. Way way way below par. It's a shame too because the venue is beautiful. But please hire a chef, not a guy who can dump canned food and heat up on the steamer tables.

My fiance and I are in the process of looking at wedding venues right now. We were at a wedding at…read morethe Willow Tree Grove about three years ago and it was beautiful so we decided to look into it. I knew it might be pricey so I sent them an e-mail asking for more information on pricing and specifically said that we would like the information since we didn't think we could afford the place. Cathy, the manager, e-mailed me back with this exact sentence "Please send me a few dates and times this month that you might be available for a site visit and we are happy to take the time to customize a quote for you to fit your style and budget!" So I thought okay maybe they can work with us. Boy was I wrong. We went there this past Saturday. Cathy informed us that she had 10 appointments scheduled for the day and that she was just finishing up with the previous appointment, but invited us to give ourselves a self-guided tour. Once we were done showing ourselves around the place and she finished up with the previous client, she decided it was appropriate to talk to us for 5 minutes about how bad she had to go to the bathroom and that she would be right back, but that we could go sit down at the table. Once we sit down and she comes back from the bathroom, she looks at me and says "Kevin?" My fiance's name is Tim and my name is Kerri so I corrected her and told her my name was Kerri. This annoyed me to start because it's not like I spoke with the woman on the phone and she wrote it down. She literally had to stare at my name in multiple e-mails. Next up was her asking us questions. How to spell my name, what my fiance's name was etc. The last question was what is your budget. I told her our total budget is $10,000 (mind you we have room to move our budget up but this is basically what our parents are throwing in). Let me tell you this woman basically laughed us out of the room by telling us that we should look into a fire hall or something less classy because they are too expensive for us. Also about how it is under new management since we went to a wedding there and that it used to be more mom and pop shop and she thinks she brings more elegance to the place. I sat through maybe 5-10 minutes of this woman talking down to me until finally when she said "maybe you could do your bridal shower here". It ended up taking longer for us to drive to the place than for us to sit down with someone who didn't even entertain the idea of working with us. So to summarize it all, Cathy is unprofessional and rude and didn't even give us the time of day (I had some other choice words, but decided against them). All of this could have been handled in an email telling us that their bar service alone is about $25-30 per person and the catering is about $100 per person. Instead we drove an hour to be belittled and talked down to.

The Glassburn Inn, located in Fogelsville, Pennsylvania, is a beautiful historic hotel, and you can truly feel its charm and character the moment you arrive. When we first pulled in, there was no snow, and the entrance looked absolutely picturesque and welcoming. From the start, the staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. The next morning was pure magic -- we woke up to freshly fallen snow and the most gorgeous winter view from our room. It honestly felt like something out of a postcard. The combination of the historic charm and the snowy landscape made it even more special. Our stay included a continental breakfast, but don't let that description fool you -- this was anything but ordinary. They offered made-to-order omelettes, eggs cooked any style you like, crispy bacon, home fries... it was a full, hot, delicious breakfast and such a treat! The birthday party was held in another building on the property called The Dairy, and it is absolutely beautiful. The Dairy can accommodate up to six guest rooms and features a large living area, a spacious dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen, along with an outdoor deck. It's perfect for gatherings and special celebrations -- private, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. With all the snow, my car just wasn't cooperating. Although the grounds were well plowed, I couldn't make it up the hill. Once again, the staff went above and beyond -- they graciously drove us up to The Dairy so we wouldn't miss a thing. That level of service really stood out. If you're in the area and looking for a relaxing getaway at a beautiful historic inn with outstanding staff, the Glassburn Inn in Fogelsville, Pennsylvania is absolutely the place to stay. The pictures truly don't do it justice

Unfortunately, for a special anniversary stay separate from any party, it was not the relaxing getaway we had hoped to have. The property is indeed beautiful. We walked around a bit hoping to enjoy the "trails" on their property map, but they weren't well marked. When we thought we were on a trail, it would abruptly end in lawn. The staff is friendly, but seemed a little disorganized. We called to confirm our reservation earlier that day and they couldn't find it, so we made another one for a more expensive room since our original choice wasn't available. But when we checked in they gave us our original, smaller room under a reservation that was still there. To their credit, they did fix it so we were not charged for two reservations, and we chose the larger room after all. Our room was in the Pack House. It was airy with a high ceiling and comfortable bed, a mini fridge, and a balcony shared with the room next door. The DirectTV and A/C wall unit were a little clunky to operate, but workable. The main issue for us was the noise because there was a party room downstairs. There are quiet hours posted from 11 pm to 7 am - and not long after 7 am (on a Saturday morning!) there was loud music that ruined our morning. My guess is it was early morning wedding prep, and it was technically not breaking quiet hours, but unwelcome for us "outsiders" nonetheless. On the brighter side, breakfast was included in our rate and was very good. In addition to light fare of pastries, fruit, and yogurt in a small buffet, we got to pick an entree from a large menu of options. Our entrees were simple, but good. Check out was easy and I was asked if I wanted a printout or email. I requested email, and over 24 hours later I still haven't received it. This is a pretty good reflection of our experience: promises that were not quite delivered, leaving us mostly disappointed, especially for the cost. If you are not part of a wedding or event, I would not stay here unless you are okay with disruptions.
