I've been here at least four times for lunch, and I'd have to state that this to me, is your average 3-star gyro joint at best. I'm giving a fourth star because the guy at the counter is always welcoming. The place is located within a busy Fred Meyer shopping area. So parking can be a bit busy, especially during lunch hours. There's Pho Tango restaurant, a nail salon, and a UPS store all sharing the lot. Inside dining is simple. Mostly tables for two or four. Clean table tops with the times I've dined-in. So no issues with service or dining. Regarding the gyros, they've got lots to choose from on the menu (and up on the menu board). I've tried their Lamb Gyro and Chicken Gyro for $11.99, as well as their Combo Gyro with chicken and beef for $13.99. I do love the fact that the pita bread is nice and warm, and the toppings were flavorful. But I feel the gyro slices are a bit small, not your typical long juicy strips. More like slivered shawarma cuts. I've also tried the Double Meat over Rice ($16.99) which consists of the chicken and lamb cuts, hummus, tzatziki, a little bit of lettuce, tomatoes, all on top of rice, with that warm pita bread included. Honestly, I thought this plate would blow me away, but it didn't. I mean their sauces were good, but I feel it needed a spicy kick to it.. Overall, Monte Gyro is a great little spot for lunch. Plenty of items to choose from on the menu and at reasonable prices. Dining is typical and service is exceptional. I'll likely be back in support of this local mom'n'pop shop.

Omg it is amazing and your get so much food! Decided I needed something before driving through town and the lamb on fries caught my eye. For $13.99, I got enough food for 3 individual meals. The meat was great as we're the toppings. Seriously, if you want great food, visit.

Simply MASSIVE, yummy, flavorful chicken gyros. No possible way there's a mouth out there large enough to dive in or hands large enough to pick the thing up! But definitely worth grabbing a fork and embracing the messy goodness. Service was very friendly and they were still plenty warm once we got home. Great first impression, we will definitely be back.

I noticed this new spot the last time I was in the area and decided to give it a try. I did take out and got their chicken shawarma wrap, falafel, and hummus.. and glad I did! The shawarma wrap is quite big and filled with flavorful chicken. The wrap itself also tastes homemade and fresh. For me, it's enough for two meals so definitely a deal. Personally, I had hoped to see more veggies in there but I can't say it wasn't filling. I like their unique tzatziki sauce and hot sauce that came with the wrap, it compliments nicely. The falafel was crispy and delicious, hummus was great too. I'll be back again!

11) Lamb Gyro and Combo Lamb & Beef Salad

Food was very yummy, not too oily, and servings were generous. Wait time was short and service was very friendly & welcoming. Also felt very cozy, the ambiance was almost like eating at home. Definitely would visit again!

What a great option for Mediterranean! Big selection of dishes, we chose to do the lamb arabi, falafel and side of hummus. The arabi was filling with tasty lamb slices wrapped with veggies and feta. The fries had some seasoned salt and topped with sauce, a nice accompaniment. The hummus had good flavor and came with a side of bread. The falafel was fresh, springy and tasty. The service was kind and friendly. Will be back to try more dishes, a great local place.

Sign to the left of the cash register. According to the sign on the right, bottom left, "LAMB OVER SALAD - $12.99"

I would NOT buy food here again. I wanted to pay with Discover card, but saw no signage regarding credit cards. I asked the cashier if it was accepted, and he just said "yes". My food was $13.99, but I was charged $14.41. I asked why, and the cashier pointed to this text on the receipt - "To cover the cost of accepting credit cards, we collected a 3% credit card surcharge." Such surcharges are legal in Oregon, but very unusual at restaurants. Ethical merchants will DISCLOSE such surcharges to customers (via signage, and when answering direct questions about whether or not credit cards are accepted) BEFORE the transaction. Regarding my food... "Lamb over Salad". The meat was very tasty, and there was a lot of meat. There wasn't very much salad, and a lot of the lettuce was shredded, which made it harder for me to eat. My preference would have been for a bit less meat & a bit more salad (with bigger pieces of lettuce and tomato). Also, the salad had pickles and green olives, neither of which seem common in the Greek salads I've had. I would preferred a bit more feta cheese instead.

I ordered the lamb kebab (it was the staff's recommendation). Visually it looked fine, but the flavor was disappointing: the meat tasted bitter and overcooked, almost like it was burnt. I don't recommend getting that dish. Based on that experience, I can't recommend dining here.

We paired it with chicken and hummus, and wow--absolutely amazing. Then came the lamb shank, and it stole the show. Perfectly cooked, fall-off-the-bone tender, and the rice? Packed with flavor. A solid 10/10. We also tried the chicken seekh with saffron rice, which was nicely done. The ground lamb pizza wasn't my personal favorite--felt a bit too tomato-heavy--but my friends loved it, so it really depends on your palate. Now, the grand finale: Turkish coffee with a mixed dessert platter. And let me tell you--Knafa + Turkish coffee = pure heaven. I had a foodgasm. Truly one of those rare, unforgettable dessert experiences. The service was wonderful--I believe it was the owner who personally checked on us, gave thoughtful recommendations, and brought such a warm, positive vibe to the entire place. It really elevated the experience. The ambience is also on point--cozy yet vibrant, perfect for a meal with friends, family, or even a low-key date night. I'm recommending this place to everyone. It's a must-try. 100 out of 100.

I dropped it one star (from a 4.8) because as others mentioned, the cleanliness of the floor. The tables, seats, and all that were fine but it was clear the floors need some attention. Not "tacky" as others mentioned but the corners need a good deep clean. I only noticed because I dropped silverware while dumping my plate so got a closer look when I picked it up. What we got was unexpected and not good. I was looking forward to the Butter Chicken that was on the buffet menu. What I found was a restaurant tray with a bit of sauce in it, and not a single piece of chicken. I thought, "No problem. I'll go again when they bring some more out." We were there about an hour. That pan was never changed or added to. I tried the sauce over some rice and it tasted good. It became obvious the longer I waited that they weren't going to refresh this dish. (The buffet still had over an hour before closing). Then there was a dish called Garlic Chicken. This consisted of small, very bony pieces of chicken that were very dark, having had any tenderness cooked out of them long ago. The boniness was a concern that even my wife mentioned without my prompting. It looked as if someone had taken a meat cleaver to a chicken and just hacked away at it. Jagged pieces of bone all over. Not good! There were some vegetarian options that I didn't try, and a dessert similar to Kheer, but made with skim milk, I think. It was runny like gruel. There were two employees there, I have no idea if a chef was hiding in the back, perhaps ashamed to show his or her face. These two were more interested in chatting and sitting than in doing something so ridiculous as updating the hot dishes. I am on a mission now to try and find a decent Indian Buffet. We haven't been to a good one since Sagat stopped serving the buffet during Covid. Oh, one last note: They had a sign instructing customers to reuse their plates. Really? They were too damn lazy to wash the dishes, I guess. We used new plates. As for this hole-in-the-wall, we will NOT be back!

The location and atmosphere is nothing special, but that isn't why you come here. Both times I've gone it's been busy, but we were able to get seated right away. The paneer makhani curry is delectable. It's rich, sweet, spicy, creamy, and has a great depth of flavor and spices. The shrimp biryani was the standout dish for me that I still keep thinking about. Unfortunately, my second order via DoorDash missed the mark in two significant ways: 1) Spice level not honored: I ordered butter chicken and Mughlai paneer and selected "mild", specifically because my 5-year-old was going to eat with me. What arrived was unbearably hot, even for an adult used to spicy Indian food. I double-checked my receipt and the mild selection was clearly there. Neither dish was edible for my child, and I could barely get through it myself. What's especially frustrating is that my first order at mild spice came out perfectly mild. Dishes like butter chicken and Mughlai korma-style preparations are traditionally on the gentler end of the heat spectrum. It would be great if the restaurant could maintain consistency in honoring spice level selections, as it makes a difference for the person eating it. 2) No rice with the main course: In every Indian restaurant I've visited globally, a main entree comes with a side of rice as standard. I didn't select "extra rice" on DoorDash assuming this was a given, and added only a garlic naan. What arrived was two entrees and a very small portion of naan (two thin slices, really enough for one person), and no rice at all. A heads-up on the menu or at checkout that rice is not included would go a long way. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously, because the food itself is very tasty!
