    Mezza plate

Years ago a friend and I use to visit UR Mediterranean Restaurant frequently because the food was good and prices were low. Then the owner sold the place and things changed in a negative way. Food just wasn't as good. Since several years have passed and I've noticed good reviews, I decided its time to try them again. I placed an order thru GH. Unfortunately the order was delayed twice. When the food finally arrived we were famished. I order 2 mezza plates, rice pilaf and tabbouli. Im vegetarian so these were the best items for me to order. But if you eat meat they offer numerous chicken, lamb and beef items. The grape leaves were great. The falafel were very crunchy but good. I didnt care for the hummus. The plate also came with tzatziki and bread. I would have preferred baba ghanouj instead of tzatziki. There was a soggy salad under the falafel and grape leaves. The rice pilaf and tabhouli were good. Overall the food was ok but not as good as some other places I frequent.

A delicious family-owned spot that has AMAZING food. I ordered the (vegetarian) mezza plate and it did not disappoint. I usually hate falafel because they're dry and crumby, but these were very moist and sooo flavorful! 10/10

    Chicken Kabob Over Rice

Long overdue piggyback to Malcolm S.'s comment. The temptation to gatekeep this one is real. Lean, family-run place. Handful of tables and a shareable window bench seat. Don't expect fine dining ambiance. The fancy is in the food. It's a small wait so order ahead if you're rushing for lunch or dinner. It's worth it. Take your friends. Most of us can't reproduce this at home. The owners are the excellent cooks and proud servers that make meals to order. High quality scratch preparations, full & balanced flavors, satisfying portions. First visit - chicken shawarma w/rice, baba ghanouj & pita, spiced house tea. Didn't take pictures. Tender chicken, perfectly seasoned. Fluffy basmati. Silky, roasty baba ghanouj. Cardamom-scented black tea was delicious. Second visit - chicken kabob with rice, hummus & pita. I had forgotten how tender the chicken was. Creamy hummus. Why is basmati so delicious? Labor-intensive stuff. The chicken is ground & seasoned, shaped, skewered, cooked to a perfect balance of char and juiciness, then the skewers are removed for plating. I'm hungry again. Just go. Be kind. Remember how hard it is to keep the lights on and support authentic gems like this so they can keep feeding us when we're too tired/busy/impatient/etc. to do it at home.

I was tempted to gatekeep this spot because it was so good. The rice is so fragrant and delicious, the falafel is fried to perfect and the hummus is so creamy. I was blown away by this place!! Everything we tried was delicious. The older couple running the place were so kind too!

The food was very flavorful and delicious. Food was made fresh. We arrived just as he had opened so the rice was not quite ready for some of the meals so we ordered them on salad. I'll have to come back to try over rice next time. The hummus was silky and too notch! Of course I had to take a couple pieces of Baklava home. So happy to have a midnight snack that tastes this great... sticky sweet;what a treat!

First time in tonight and must say I was impressed. Great flavors and excellent quality. Certainly recommend lamb sandwich and the falafel.

Amazing Mediterranean spot! The chicken kabob was perfectly seasoned and juicy, and the hummus was creamy and flavorful. Service was friendly, and the ambience was cozy and welcoming. Definitely coming back!

Late in the week, tired from work, brain-fried and looking for a place to grab dinner for the family is always the challenge especially after 5pm. I wanted to try something different and unique. We haven't had any Mediterranean food worth noting so I did a search and I came across UR. Despite the mixed-reviews, I wanted to try-out this place and give my honest review and so it begins. When my daughter and I arrived in downtown Beaverton, it was our first time in that particular area and looking for parking was a little bit challenging for her. We ended-up parking about 3 blocks away from the restaurant. Google map told us it would take about a 4 min. walk but I said whatever; it would be great exercise. Parts of the downtown were closed-off for outdoor dining and a kids play area was set-up in the street. They even had huge lawn-chair props- makes for great photos but unfortunately I didn't take any snaps. Vibes were great and the weather perfect. As what some folks mentioned here, I did notice the young guy running the restaurant didn't seem pleasant, had a bland demeanor and looked quite bored, but nonetheless I wasn't going to let that first impression dictate the rest of the experience. We went ahead and placed 5 orders (Chicken Kabob, Lamb and Beef Kabob, Chicken Shawarma, Chicken Shish Kabobs and Hummus Plate). The guy then told us it was going to be a 25 min. wait so I said no problem. When we got home, my first impression reaching into the bag was "heft"- the food in the containers were heavy. Just look at the photos I took of our meals. For the amount of money I paid it was enough food to feed 2. I was only able to get through halfway and saved the remaining for my lunch the next day. - The rice was tasty, fluffy and had great texture. - Chicken, beef, lamb were all flavorful, not dry, and had great taste - The hummus was ok and the pita bread was already cold when we got home The food was prepared perfectly which greatly surprised me in spite of the first impression at the counter. Don't let that fool you! This guy created a masterpiece for us! I couldn't identify what sort of spice was sprinkled on top but mixing that including the sauce into your rice with your proteins was a tasteful delight! I must say this is the best Mediterranean food I've had in this area; this place has made my top 5 and definitely I will be coming back again for more.

FIRE! You can tell everything was very authentic and homemade. At first, I was surprised that a side of hummus and a side of tzatziki were $5 each, but you get a considerable portion. Location: I love this area of Beaverton! There are cute shops and restaurants, and everyone is out and about. They also block a street with outdoor seating and a children's play area. The parking is tricky, though. I called it in, so I didn't have to find parking. Food: AMAZING! Huge portions. I got the chicken shawarma sandwich with a side of hummus and tzatziki. The food is also very messy because they generously pack the sandwich and add so much chicken. So maybe now first date spot lol.

We came here on a whim and loved it! Our food came out quickly and was so tasty! My husband got the chicken shawarma over rice and I got the the lamb gyro. Both were incredibly flavorful and full of delicious spices. Everything was hot and fresh and we had a really good dinner. And the portions were very generous. I have a feeling we'll be coming back in the near future.

Loved the kebab and rice. The feta and olives were amazing , also that orange sauce they gave us was amazing it was spicy, flavorful and just the perfect addition! Friend got the falafel and liked it! Good options for vegans and vegetarians as well

In the historic downtown Beaverton neighborhood, just around the corner from the diverse hub of eateries on SW 1st St, is an unpretentious hole in the wall for Mediterranean food. I've walked past this place a handful of times and finally decided to check it out. I'm so glad I did. It's not really a sit down restaurant, maybe a few tables, but you can always sit outside where they have plenty of outdoor seating located on SW 1st. Anyways, we ordered take out and it ended up being more than enough to share with my family. We ordered Baba ganouj, chicken schwarma over rice, falafels, dolmas, and a gyro. The flavor was pretty good, better than average, and with their generous portions, it was worth what we paid for.

I dropped it one star (from a 4.8) because as others mentioned, the cleanliness of the floor. The tables, seats, and all that were fine but it was clear the floors need some attention. Not "tacky" as others mentioned but the corners need a good deep clean. I only noticed because I dropped silverware while dumping my plate so got a closer look when I picked it up. To be fair it was only next to the trash can. Otherwise nothing stood out as anything of concern.
