A room at the Monte Carlo Inn.
Nathan Y.

I stayed at this hotel during a trip to Canada during the Summer. The staff and housekeeping were really nice and understood what I needed. The room was good, although I wish there were blackout curtains for the window. It looked like no windows had blackout curtains and you can see the lights from the streets and businesses nearby come into the room during nighttime. The TV was hard to understand at first, but figured it out quickly. The room has a microwave and fridge. And there were ice machines, although I wished there were ice machines on each floor. You do get breakfast each morning in the restaurant, but it's pretty basic. And if you want a hot breakfast you have to pay $5. There are also plenty of restaurants and stores like Wal-Mart really near this hotel. It was a good hotel to stay in and I would stay there again.

Picture of the hair I found all over the bed sheets.

My stay was ok. However, when I pulled the sheets back to climb into bed I noticed there were black hairs ALL over the sheets, which is disgusting! I would have called down to the front desk and asked them to change the sheets, but it was 2 in the morning and I was really tired. It took 10 min to brush off all the hair off. I complained at the front desk and was just asked to email them a picture and told I would be contacted by management the next day. It's been over a week and I still haven't heard anything. I would never stay here again.

I've had the worse experience here. I came to visit for couple of days and it was horrible. The workers all have attitudes.

The breakfast wasn't good...the selection was limited and didn't taste good. The WiFi is horrible to boot. The bath tub was covered in soap scum and water backed up the drain during showers. The lobby smelled like a sewer and sketchy folks were always hanging around the lobby and halls. Unfortunately the team had to stay at the hotel to play in a tournament. Lastly my daughter locked her key card in the room and was able to get a new key without any idea or verification. Scary place!!

The first night my friend found out she was bitten on her back and didn't think nothing of it. Then the next night around 2am in the morning, I was unpacking my things and found a bed bug in my luggage. So I immediately went downstairs to speak to the supervisor and he offered us a new room next door where we were currently staying. The pictures below are proof to show that the new room that was offered to us was far more in a worst condition than the room we was currently staying in. Long story short, my friend ended up getting her money refunded back to her for the 5 nights and as I'm writing this review, the hotel staff is still investigating the bed bug infestation in order to get her full refund smh!!

Pretty decent Hotel with plenty of parking, efficient service and plenty of coffee…read more Was exhausted after a very uncomfortable flight to Toronto. By the time I got here, I was ready to collapse and it was only 9pm. The Bed was so comfortable, by the time I went to sleep at 10pm, I was out cold in 5 minutes and did not wake up until 8:30am, the next morning. The breakfast buffet offers all you need to be fueled up. Oatmeal, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit (pineapple, banana, cantaloupe, grapefruit, and apples), yogurt, all sorts of coffee, cooled hard boiled eggs, coffee cake, toast, bagel, cereal (Cheerios, Raisin Bran, Cornflakes) and the creme-de-l'creme: the waffle maker, just 1: you need to devise a battle plan to ever have a chance to make a waffle as everyone is vying to make waffles (best bet: get there at 6am when the breakfast is first served and no one is awake.) While I've had better breakfast buffets, this did the job. Coffee was excellent which is what matters most. The rooms offer a nice 40" Flat screen TV with excellent reception and all the TV channels you need to find something worth watching. The entire hotel is very clean and organized. The only areas I had issues with were the showers (good water quality but slightly lower pressure than preferred) and the elevators (a little slower than expected). Despite that, would definitely stay here again. For those coming to Toronto via Pearson Int'l, this place does not offer a free airport shuttle so make sure to plan ahead getting here, about 20-30 minutes away depending on traffic.

We stayed here for 5 nights under a couple different reservations. Some hotels are great to work…read morewith when combining reservations and some have issues with this so we were a little skeptical how this would work. My sister was arriving before me and 3 of the nights were under my name. She let one of the employees know and he was able to assist. The day after I arrived, I went up and told him what i needed and was told, he'd already seen me downstairs and was already working on the change of the reservation. The front desk staff were so friendly and helpful, probably one of the best instances of customer service I have received. The room was exceptionally clean and even though cleaning was only supposed to be every 3rd day, the first two mornings they clean the room and even laid all of our personal belongings very carefully and neatly. My son's stuffed animal was neatly placed on top of nicely folded sheets, he loved it. After that we made sure to put the door hanger on the door so they didn't need to clean for us. The room had a full size fridge and a nice freezer, dishwasher and plenty of cups and utensils. The bathroom was stocked with TP and facial tissues and plenty of towels. The only thing that kinda bummed me out was the bed was sagging badly on one side and it caused me to keep rolling into that divet when I slept. Also, the ice maker on floor 7 did not work, so the next floor that had an ice maker was floor 5. Breakfast was not the best, but considering it's included in the cost, I won't ding any stars for that. I did wish there was a pancake maker or waffle makers. The only hot breakfast items were pre-made breakfast sandwiches which were soggy on the bottom and hard on top and some microwave style omelettes that did not taste good. The cereal was fine and plentiful as well as there were yogurt and fruit options. There were also bagels, toast and muffins. Overall not a bad breakfast but nothing special. Honestly what makes this hotel special is the staff is so welcoming and friendly. The size of the room was great for 3 people, we were not cramped at all. It was a very nice stay at this hotel.

We usually travel with 3 people and this brand makes it easy for everyone to have their own bed. However, the service here was the most exceptional. When I booked, I used points and it would not let me do multiple days in one booking, I had to book each night separately. They were fantastic about it and let me stay in the same room all week. I got to pick the room I wanted in the app and I feel like I got the best room in the place! Loved it! the hotel was very clean, well maintained. Never had an issue at all. Housekeeping was fantastic! Came back and the room was immaculate. The hotel has plenty of parking and is conveniently located off the highway. I don't always love staying in super busy areas so even though we were going into Toronto or Vaughn each day, this was a great location and easy to commute from. I would absolutely stay again! Breakfast was fine. I love that it is provided but by the 4th day we wanted a fresh hot breakfast and went out. The precooked omelettes and stuff are okay but I mainly just had the cereal or bagel. Very thankful they have options though.

But clean and rooms appear to have had a "facelift". Didn't try out the onsite restaurant and bar, "Driftwood". Full size Starbucks in the lobby is a great touch. The "Pantry" on the 14th is a smaller room with drinks, snacks and some breakfast items. Other larger Delta properties have more full blown staffed Marriott Concierge Lounge or M-Club, this does not. As others have stated the parking garage is small, but close nearby and have tight turns if you have a big truck. Costs are $15 CAD/night. There are 3 spots right by the front door for checkin, with signage for them. Don't believe there is any upgraded room layouts available, as the best available is on the 14th floor "pantry" room with a non blocked view of the Marilyn Monroe towers and Square One mall :-) In our room there don't appear to be any outlets in the bathroom oddly enough. All in all, not bad for the location and price with the right expectations.
