Both hotels are about a five-minute drive from my workplace. I recently did a staycation in Mississauga. My boyfriend flew in from a business trip early on Saturday, so we managed to take it easy and spend some time in the city, staying at this hotel. I checked in on Good Friday. I was promptly greeted by the woman at the front desk. She was polite and is so comfortable with her position that welcoming me as a gold elite member seemed almost scripted. The problem that I had right off the bat was that my credit card on file that I used to book this hotel had recently been compromised. I wanted to convey that information when she asked me for my ID and credit card on file. I tried speaking, but she wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise. She then proceeded to ask for the last four digits of my credit card on file. I actually had to interject by saying, "Can you please let me talk?" I then explained that I needed to give her a different credit card than the one on file. I finally broke her from her script. She swiped my card, got me my room keys, and directed me to where the elevators were. My room was on the fourth floor. I ended up getting a studio suite. It was nice. I like staying at Residence Inn because I get a kitchenette. I like fixing myself something to eat when I get hungry. I tend to bring my own bottled water and food. If you drink one of the 500 mL bottles of water in the room, it costs you $2.50. I had fixed myself dinner my first night there. I looked for liquid dish soap and there wasn't any. Normally, it's either by the sink or under it. Only the garbage bin was under the sink. I didn't see any dishwasher tablets around, either. I called the front desk to ask about liquid dish soap and dishwasher tablets. The first question I got was, "Did you check under the sink?" It sounded a bit condescending. I said yes. She advised that you actually have to ask for liquid dish soap. The hotel doesn't provide it automatically in the kitchenette, which I found odd. As for the dishwasher tablet, it was missed. She advised that she would send someone. Sure enough, about twenty minutes later, a got a knock at my door. I got liquid dish soap and a sponge with a scouring side. Nice! I was happy. I slept well during my stay. The area is fairly quiet, except for garbage collection that oddly happened early on Saturday morning. That was okay, for my boyfriend had arrived at the airport just after 08:00. It felt like home here. I was happy watching TV in the living room on the comfy couch. The shower was perfect. It had two shelves for me to put my shower and shampoo. The water pressure was decent. The sink area is away from the shower area. There was plenty of space to put my toiletries and plug in my electric toothbrush. The bed was queen-sized. It fit both of us comfortably (I'm two inches shy of being six feet and he is six feet). The bed's firmness was perfect. There was a TV in the bedroom and one in the living room. Both worked just fine. I didn't use the little dining room table to sit down and eat. Instead, I placed my non-perishables on the table. I was thrilled that housekeeping did a terrific job at making my room during my entire stay. I cringe when I am at other hotels these days, as my room often gets missed for some reason. Even on Easter, my room was promptly made at this hotel, which I appreciated. I'm not trying to spend all my money on a hotel and Hilton hotels are affordable! Every time I call Hilton they give me tons of options in the city that I am visiting and a hotel at a price range I can afford. There are a lot of hotels that are pricey but at least I have my choice of the Hilton's I want to stay at. We picked this hotel because it was $150 a night. There was other Hiltons in the downtown area that cost around $400 a night. This hotel is about 30 minutes from downtown Toronto. If you're looking to go to the CN Tower and that area it's all about 30 minutes away. This Homewood Suites was close to Toronto airport, clean, and had a huge room (even though you can't tell from the pictures). The bed was comfortable even though the pillows could've been a little bit softer. The bathroom was basic but the room had a fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, dishwasher and a stove. All of your kitchen needs, which come in handy if you're staying a long period of time. If you don't feel like cooking, your room stay includes free dinner and breakfast. You can go down for the buffet for dinner or for breakfast in the morning. My mom enjoyed the breakfast but I didn't try it. I like to sleep in and breakfast was served from 6 to 9am. The good news is they have free coffee, tea and hot chocolate 24 hours a day. Customer Service is always good at Hilton and this hotel was the same. The girls behind the desk were fantastic. They took plenty of time to show me where everything was. They gave me a nice map of Toronto and the places to see. They also had a small snack shop next to the check in area. My only complaint was the hotel didn't come with a bell guy. Yes I'm spoiled. I grabbed our own cart and carried our stuff up. However, I am ok with no bell guy if our room is pretty cheap. Lastly, remember to give them your AAA number if you're a member and join join the Hilton Honors program to save the most money!

Instead, the eggs were cold, the sausage was cold, and the entire food area was dirty and unappealing. When guests are paying this much per night, a clean breakfast area and a decent hot breakfast should be the bare minimum. Breakfast being "included" means very little when the quality is this poor. Very disappointing experience. For the amount I paid, I expected much better from a Hilton property. Never again.

It had three treadmills, two ellipticals, one bicycle. I never had any issues getting the equipment I wanted to use. It was well stocked with towels. There is a tv on each machine as well as one in the weight area. The close parking was fairly crowded every night. But there was always parking somewhere just may not be close. The breakfast was different each morning which was a nice change after a long stay there. Some days were better than others. I wish they had paper plates to take food on the go in the morning. I did notice some people thought ahead and brought their own Tupperware so I guess that is an option. Nonetheless it is your standard free hotel breakfast. There is plenty of seating in the dinning area though. They did offer Social hours on Monday through Thursday, which was nice during the cold nights. There was light dinners offered each night. Each night had something different, there was a calendar of events in the room. It ranged from pasta, pizza, salad, soup, sandwiches not the best food but a nice option if you are not inclined to leaving the hotel. There was also soft drinks and desserts offered. The subway station is not far from here about a 8 minute drive. There is no sidewalk to and from so I wouldn't really suggest walking there also it was quite cold and snowing when I was there. There is also a Walmart located near by so that was nice to get some essentials. The hotel also offers to pick up groceries for you as well. I'm not sure of the fee associated with it as I didn't do it. Room service was quick to bring anything that I needed.
