Mikhail assessed I have a ballast which required dismantling the fixture and inserting a ballast bypass tube. He did the entire job in about 25 minutes because he bought the necessary 48-inch tube beforehand. He even helped clean my dusty ceiling ventilator. Total cost was $200. She walked me through trying to reset different outlets and ultimately directed me back to the circuit breaker box and proposed a technique for handling the malfunctioning switch. It worked! Our top priority was the safety of our home and family as we had a less than a 1 year old at home. What we discovered post-completion was frankly terrifying, and the company's subsequent non-response is completely unacceptable. Alex completely brushed off our concerns Early in the project, we raised concerns when we discovered a cosmetic "shortcut" (a drywall patch done with toilet paper instead of proper material. they literally stuffed toilet paper in the wall then laid joint compound on top). We were personally assured by Alex that even though there were minor appearance issues, they would take absolutely no shortcuts on the actual electrical work. A few months later, while I was installing a simple light fixture, my father and I discovered an unmarked hot wire. In this switch box, a white conductor was being used as the LINE-Hot wire (constantly energized). This unmarked wire could have easily been mistaken for a neutral by anyone working in the box, which could have led to someone getting killed. When I informed Alex, he said I shouldn't be doing wiring, and admitted it should have been taped. He offered to come over and tape the wire (I already did it myself). No apology at all. It feels like they took short cuts throughout the job- if they failed to properly mark a live wire in the first box we opened, we simply cannot trust the integrity of the rest of the expensive rewiring job. When it comes to the safety of your home and family, avoid this company.

I'd already spoken to Viking Corp about getting any of the listed replacement parts for my 20 year old equipment and I was told that no motors or control panels were stocked in the US and none had been made in at least 6 years. The over-riding problem is that the fan switch is part of a computer-controlled panel which cannot be opened and fixed. It must be replaced. The immediate temporary fix is to run a 3' ext cord from the motor to a wall socket. So the rest of that will be a scavenger hunt and probably an out of the box final solution. So for my 1 hour fixed rate, Shad also repaired a ridiculously poorly installed set of back patio lights so that they are cleanly placed under the roof eaves and controlled by an existing switch. And then I just had him check garage and kitchen GFCI's and the circuit panels in case anything was deteriorating or didn't look right. I would be delighted to say how much I paid for these services. It was covered by his hourly rate, which is quite reasonable. Shad is the kind of person you want to get to know and whose expertise you need when the time comes. Smart, experienced, value-driven.
