I come here regularly but was very disappointed this week. A bunch of us came in for Taco Tuesday. I really like their Frajitas so I ordered that. They've raised the price from what used to be under $20 to $23.99...but what really pissed me off was that they've also reduced the portion size by about 30%. Quite a bit less chicken and less onions and peppers. I understand costs have increased... Most restaurants have increased pricing, but, that's no excuse to also reduce portion size... Thinking most customers won't notice or complain. Montana's has lost a customer over this shady decision. read more

I'll start off by saying that I have eaten at a montana's BBQ & bar before. I dined in, I went to the barrie location off mapleview west. it was great! I'm unsure if it was the location, or if it was because of take out (shouldn't be though). but I got my order. I order the spinach dip & chicken penne pasta. it was HORRIBLE! I took one bite of the spinach dip & I knew I wouldn't touch it again. it tasted incredibly oniony, like overpowering. I'm actually unsure if they even use onions in their dip. but that was an instant pass for me. now the chicken penne was initially good. I was not a fan of the grilled chicken they put in with it. the char was a prominent taste. but, I would recommend if you get the pasta (or maybe any pasta) -- I would eat it immediately, because after a while.. it doesn't taste even close to how good it was warm. ps: I'm normally a fan of room temp food. read more

went to the Orillia location with the hockey team. pre ordered our food which was fine as was the service. i got the spicy chicken sandwich and let me tell you spicy doesnt even come close to how hot this was. sauce was like water dripping out and the heat was something i have never experienced in my life think ghost pepper hot ridiculous. if i could leave a negative i would as i told the server its crazy hot her response was we do things hot at montanas! come on really you need to be better than that. read more

After years of having consistently good food...not sure what happened but the last 3 visits were bad enough I can honestly say I can't be bothered to go back. Rookie mistakes. Shrimp skewers flavourless, no seasoning and undercooked. Steak quality has gone way downhill and the constant shuffling of the menu is just irritating No more roast chicken, no more pot roast.. not the staffs fault their only working with the craptastic menu they are provided. I recommend bringing back some of your previous popular menu items and sticking with them! read more

Food mediocre at best, service not amazing, price a tad high. Went to this venue with m'lady the other day, and was told that the wait time for sitting inside would be 15 mins but there was plenty of room at the patio, so we decided to sit at the patio. Our waitress took forever to get to us. In the meanwhile, one of the bus girls offered us some drinks although we were never offered a drinks menu, all we had to pick from were a few featured drinks from the main menu, so we went for some basics such as water. When she returned with our drinks, she placed them on the table without saying anything and didn't give us a chance to say "thank you" (when we did thank her later, she quickly walked away as if we hadn't said anything). It seemed that we were the only ones at the side of the patio we chose to sit at, so our waitress came to see us quite rarely, yet the other side of the patio was constantly being served (and by a more friendly waitress too). Our waitress on several occasions shared her doom and gloom with us ("it sure has gotten chilly out" while looking outside of the patio as though she was talking to someone else, as well as complaining how her co-workers weren't listening that day). The food was not very appealing where for example the coleslaw that came with my fish and chips was not at all tasty and was rather slimy. The lettuce that came with our Kapow! Shrimp was rather old as well. All-in-all considering the price, service, and food quality, I'd definitely think twice about returning to this venue. read more

Great food and good portion sizes. We were surprised that the Kids' grilled cheese was not the regular orange cheese the kids are used to. But the adult meals were on spec and we left with empty plates. We would have preferred that there would have been less or zero tv sets in the dinning room so that the kids would have had less distractions. We don't have a tv in the kitchen at home. read more

Super friendly staff and quick service. Good quality plates and serving sizes for what you pay. Not overly vegan or vegetarian friendly, however that's not expected from a steakhouse. Expect to go grab a beyond meat burger or a smoothie when you leave from an evening out with the fam. Love the wait staff! I've always had good experiences when I mention that I'm vegan. Someone is always ready to explain the menu to me, which I really appreciate. Hey head office, give us a plant based entree! Just one. ;) read more

I ordered the Canadian Burger , wow yum ! the smiles on all the staff was welcoming, and tvs all showing some form of sports was perfect.

SCORE = F- Reservation not honoured ended up sitting in bar area with 2 & 6 yr old. During a time of the largest meat recall in Canadian history beef ribs came to the table uncooked and cold. When returned to the kitchen the Oder's came backed mixed up. The owner was quick to offer inappropriate and unprofessional comments for someone in the hospitality industry. They had to be reminded a 2nd time that we were there for the kid's birthdays. Contact with Montana's corporate through their website yielded NO response. Contact with CARA Foods the corporate entity for Montana's yeilded a response that was timely and satisfactory in that they were to take the issue up with Montana's and ensure corrective action. Cara reimbursed us for the meal and we used that at the local Kelsey's which was fantastic. read more

Went there last night for date night! The whole experience is warm and friendly, fast, and the food is always perfect. My fiance and I shared the chicken and waffle club sandwich. I'm hooked on that thing...absolutely incredible. The hostess was quick and friendly, and our servers were attentive to every detail. The one server - I believe her name is Anna, she's awesome. The other server had long dark hair, very friendly and made us feel super welcome. All over a great place to eat. read more

I've never had a more disgusting experience in my life. I am (was) a regular, and I live in the area. On Friday I was at the restaurant and I ordered a plate of "bbq meat" to share with my roommate. It consisted of 2 ribs, pulled pork, a sausage, kapow! shrimp and cornbread, with sides like coleslaw and buns. After eating only some of the meat, my roommate and I began to eat from the coleslaw cup. After finishing the majority of the coleslaw, I noticed a large, coin-sized piece of grilled CHICKEN in the bottom of said container. This was so disgusting we immediately wanted to leave. I told the waitress what had happened and curiously, she brought over a side of beans? As if we were going to eat after that. I then asked for the bill, and she brought over take-out containers. We paid the full bill with no discounts, splitting the plate of meat, which we did not eat, nor take home. After paying both bills, I requested the manager. The manager quickly arrived, and I explained the situation. It was obvious that the managers had absolutely no idea of the problem, to begin with. As a previous bartender and server, I am aware that this is a major issue. However, the manager's solution to the problem was to give us a "coupon" which was her business card for a free appetizer "on our next visit". This speaks for itself, in that Montana's managers have no true passion or proper training on what to do in the case of food contamination. Not only am I almost positive that the kitchen was not told about this, (ie. her "ALLYSA P" bringing us beans?) It is evident that employees seek to cover up problems, rather than solving them. We unfortunately will not be returning to the restaurant as I am now aware at very least, food handlers have little care, and at worst... they are recycling their food. read more

i went to montanas with my daughter. At the end of the meal she forgot her white i touch. I called the montanas and was told yes they had it I told them that i wouldnt be able to put up the i touch untill the next day. The man i spoke to said fine and that he would leave a note for the next manager. The next day i sent my daughter in for it as i had given her name and she was told they didnt know where the manager a put it so they took her name and phone and said they would call. i phoned the next day and was told that the manager must have put it somewhere and they aqgain took my name and phone. the following day i called again. I was told the same crap and they again took my name and phone., well today i stoped by and after speaking to 2 people aboult the missing i touch a manager came to tell me that it was he i spoke to that first night and shortly after my call to him they passed it off to someone they didnt know who. I said i called told u i would pick it up the next day and gave my daughters name. he said it coyuld have been someone in my party that took it i said my daughter and i had dinner alone. He said that there was nothing he could do. he also took my name and my phone but did say that i touch was expencive and he coyuldnt replace that but maybe he could give me a free meal. A FREE MEAL for a 200 $ i touch. after they gave it to whom? Friend of a server? what kind of monkey shine is this? I will never step back in to this place liers thats all they are I feel that they played this phone game with me so that i would give up. read more
