The sausage patties in the breakfast sandwich were especially good, incredibly flavorful and probably one of my favorite things we had. The pancakes were another standout. The lemon curd with the blueberries was the perfect combination of sweet and tangy without being overly sweet. I also had the Sake French 75. They only serve beer and sake-based alcohol, but they get surprisingly creative with their mixed drinks. I honestly didn't feel like I was missing out on a traditional cocktail menu at all. The service was outstanding as well. Ogene was attentive, friendly, and gave us great recommendations, which made the experience even better. Definitely one of those places I wish I had tried sooner. The location made us curious since the area is mostly commercial warehouses and apartments, not the typical setting for a bar and restaurant. When we arrived, we found the tavern in a small warehouse complex, with a full parking lot and BBQ smokers outside filling the air with an incredible cooking aroma. We were warmly greeted by the friendly staff and directed to a bench while we waited. Seating is limited, but we were seated within about 20 minutes, and it was worth it. The place was full of locals who clearly knew each other and welcomed us as first-timers, sharing their favorite menu items. The atmosphere felt authentic and inviting. The restaurant was clean, and our waitress was fantastic, friendly, attentive, and a big part of our experience. We started with ice-cold local beers and chicharrones with spicy sauce, which were delicious. We then shared the chicken wings and brisket with coleslaw, along with a side of tostones. Everything was flavorful and satisfying. Hate Monday's Tavern is a true hidden gem, and we're glad we decided to try it. If you live in Kendall or anywhere in Miami, I highly recommend stopping by.
