    Hi & mighty pop up

Okay this is the cutest little outdoor space and I'm so glad I now know about it. The bar is adorable and prices are reasonable for a place in the city. It seems like there are food trucks there for your eating needs and they smelled divine. Now here's the cute part: every bit of seating is made out of pallets. They're turned into big lounging seats. Rolling benches for the music area. Picnic tables with large umbrellas. Just a very welcoming spot that fits right in with the vibe of the area.

Ok, get here for any event! Such a cool venue!! I'd been wanting to check it out and finally made it for Octoberfest last night. It's on the grounds of an old lumberyard and warehouses that make pallets. The use of pallets for seating, tables, and decorations is very creative. Add in the shipping containers and railroad lighting for the stages and bar areas makes this a super fun environment. There is also a games are for adults and kids. For Octoberfest there is a great line up of bands. We saw Toy Factory and they were a blast. Plenty of drink options and multiple food trucks to chose from to help you celebrate. Bens pretzels are amazing! There were also sausage choices, Mexican food and barbecue. Everything sure smelled good! There is an enclosed parking lot which helps and other street parking. You can still get tickets for this weekend or go the next event. This place is too fun to miss!

Indy so needs more places such as this! Wonderful set up with lots of plants, games, drinks and there were a few food trucks available as well. The cool thing is that everything is set up with pallets, the tables and chairs. It's also dog friendly and they have water bowls for them. The live music was nice, the band did a great job. There was a $5 cover to get in and they preferred card over cash. Had a lovely time being outside seeing the sunset and enjoying quality time with friends. Great atmosphere, great place to check out!

Located right off the Monon at 30th St is Monon 30 (get it? Names these days... lol). A multi-proposed outdoors space that is only going to get better with time. If I were rating this for the food alone, it would be a solid 2.5 stars, but! This place has potential and I loved nearly everything else about it. It seems like a space that was a bit rushed to open as there are some loose ends, but this could be one of my go-to, chill hangout spots over time. They have live music that isn't overly loud so you can still have a conversation, food trucks, a couple of bars, port-o-pots, games, lots of seating, and more. I love the live music, the ample space and that it's outside. I tried the Indian-focused spot for their chickpea bowl and it was...not very good, but they have potential! Drinks are on the pricier side: a frozen drink was $9. My food was around $12 or so. If the owners/designers are reading this, I would love to see a movie theater/screen installed in one of the freight containers for outdoor movie nights in the future! Overall: it has a lot of potential and I'm excited to see it continue to grow!

Monon 30 is an INCREDIBLE new outdoor beer garden for the city of Indianapolis!! They converted an abandon industrial spot which was a total eye sore into a warm and inviting place to come together with friends. Do you enjoy live music, but are tired of the Rathskeller cover charge and being packed in like sardines?! If so, then venture over to 30th and the Monon for a new spacious outdoor venue that has live music on Fridays and Saturdays, food trucks, alcohol and yard games! This place is pet friends and open to all ages (so you might encounter kids running around), but due to the size you'll never feel like you're on top of people. Some of the seating is repurposed pallets which is trendy and neat, but could leave you sore if you sit for too long (but thankfully there are some cushions there for you to use). Over the last 2 weeks they've also added additional more traditional seating. The bar offers beer (craft cans - $7; domestic cans - $4), seltzers, wine and cocktails. My wife and I have visited this place on back to back weekends and it's quickly becoming our favorite spot. Keep it up Monon30!

An excellent new addition to the Monon Trail, this place is dog and family-friendly! There are 2 bars inside with local beer, wine, and an impressive list of cocktails available. I especially love the "Queso's" taco truck that is parked within the space. I've traveled to other cities with similar concepts and always wondered why Indy did not offer something like this. I'm so happy to see this space utilized in such a fun and creative manner!

Great venue and they have a bunch of events lined up for the summer. They recently opened up their dog park and have markets/ food trucks typically on Saturday's. Right on the monon, so you can bike or if not, huge parking lot next to it.

Indianapolis has several really cool venues for live music (and a few crap ones). I have a soft…read moreplace in my heart for Tufty Clough's Radio Radio, a Fountain Square live music spot since 2001 and absolutely one of my favorite places to hear live music in Indy. Radio Radio is a 21 and over, general admission concert venue that offers table and lounge seating on a first-come/first-serve basis with the rest being standing room only (or sitting in my case, eh?). They offer full bar service and have specialty craft cocktails at select shows. Radio Radio is only open during shows with doors opening an hour before the first act is scheduled to play. It's a smoke-free facility, though it's my understanding you can smoke out back. Radio Radio has a really killer vibe with a weaving together of style, substance, retro, and probably a few other things. I don't get to Radio Radio nearly enough, but every time I go I'm like "Man, I need to come here more often." There are free parking lots in various locations around Fountain Square along with street parking in spots. Curb cuts are plentiful in Fountain Square, though it is an older part of the city so there are occasional sidewalk cracks. The front entrance is perfectly accessible and the venue itself is fairly solid, though the "Standing Room Only" shows can be a challenge. My understanding is they'll try to work with you with advance notice, though I have to be honest and say I've never had any difficulties as without exception I've found Radio Radio crowds to be respectful of wheelchair users when they show up. I've always been able to see, though I do typically arrive early just to make sure. Radio Radio's sound system was updated a few years ago and the sound is extremely awesome now. Acts range from local bands to up-and-coming regional and national acts or bands with more of a cult following. Concert capacity is right around 250. There's also this incredibly beautiful winding bar. Employees are friendly and helpful, drink prices are fair (especially for music venues), solid craft beer options, and I just love this entire vibe. It is worth noting that Radio Radio does not do food. If you don't know David "Tufty" Clough, he was the longtime bassist for Toxic Reasons and also for Zero Boys. He was also one of my first artist interviews when I was in college (so, yes. I'm a longtime fan). He also used to own Broad Ripple's Future Shock. This is an awesome venue and one of the better mid-sized options here in Indy. If you've never seen a show, I highly recommend it.

She was being her funny and skinny and calm self, playing some of her songs from her Lost in Space album, which, at this point, is like an appendage of my body in musical form. Her album is a part of me. The Vogue is a small venue, but not extremely so. There is balcony seating, and a bar in the balcony, but you need to pay extra for this area. General admission is downstairs, and it's standing-room only. I know on the website it says that a general admission ticket grants you access to the upstairs, but when I went up there, I was immediately told that the tables were for people who paid extra. I considered paying the extra however-much-it-costs so I could sit down, but I decided to thug it out and found a corner downstairs, on the side by the stairs, to post up. Even though I was standing to the side, I still had a great view! I've seen Aimee Mann in concert one other time (she played at Royce Hall in Los Angeles with Rufus Wainwright, a long time ago), but I had never been this close to her. It was an amazing experience. There's a big bar downstairs, and they were super quick to get me my plastic cup of Moscow mule. FYI: This is not the place to get wine! They have a couple of cans of wine, but nothing in a bottle. They mostly have beer and mixed drinks. Before the concert, I was looking at all of the photos lining the walls of the bands and musicians who have played at The Vogue. It's impressive! This music venue has a long history. Lots of people have played at this humble place in Broad Ripple, which is pretty cool.

It's all standing so you can feel like a can of sardines. They were offering upgrades to the second floor which we happily took. I do like how there is a bar to sit your drinks at the railing so you can sit and have a more relaxed time. I will happily come back to the Vogue

I am always amazed at line dancing. The place is huge and has a pretty big parking lot with an over flow lot available as well. The place was very clean and had decent lighting for a bar. No country bar would be complete without a mechanical bull. This place in no exception. They have a bull that you can ride for an additional fee. The place has a very big dance floor in the middle, three bars (two were open while I was there), a stage, corn hole boards and an eatery (Rolyno's Pizza) that sells hot dogs, pizza, pretzels, sodas, and breadsticks. You will also find an outdoor patio out front that overlooks the parking lot. The drinks were reasonably priced, but there was always a long wait in line to get one. They were playing some real good music, a wide variety of country and hip-hop, and the line dancers really knew their stuff. I like this place. It had a mixed crowd, with the average age being about 30 or so. It is very spacious, with tons of room. It is defiantly a place to be on Friday and/or Saturday nights. Yeee haw!!!!!
