It's a real community spot. The yarn selection ranges from standard go-tos like Berroco and Plymouth, to lovely stuff from Malabrigo and Juniper Moon Farm, to indie hand-dyes. The trend seems to be toward fashion colors and styles. I'm not exactly a fashionista myself, and I still find it easy to leave with creative choices. Especially because everyone there has been so willing to help me discover something I can't wait to knit or crochet up. Right now it's a super yummy pima cotton dk yarn I'm using for a shawl, and next up I have a cozy soft 100% recycled yarn for a cardigan. (And while prices at some LYSs can get scary sometimes, they seem to have really reasonable pricing.) PS: Parking in Union can be tough, but if the adjacent smaller lots are full, there's also a big municipal lot behind the Dollar Tree. (You can walk through for a shortcut! Buy yourself a soda!)

My husband and I decided to have our wedding at the Greenpoint Loft, a beautiful space -- but a raw space. You're on your own for every single detail. As someone who's strength is NOT in event planning, it was a logistics nightmare for me and I felt in over my head. The weight of putting this wedding together hung over us heavily, just to -- yes -- get rescheduled to 2021 and begin the process all over again. Enter: Anadina. We were no longer "on our own." After interviewing multiple day-of planners, my heart knew she was the one. She listened to me, she HEARD ME, when I told her that I didn't want this wedding to take over my life and that I wanted to actually enjoy it, to keep the details to a minimum, to keep everything in perspective. While I would put all my money on Anadina's ability to handle a wedding with a grander vision, she respected that it was not what I wanted and validated MY vision and SAW TO IT that we stayed true to it throughout. She gave me the confidence I needed -- that minimal could still be beautiful. So not only did I have fun on my wedding day, I also enjoyed the process because of Anadina. I knew that I wasn't missing anything with her leadership. And if I was -- she swooped in with HER OWN NETWORK, negotiating for us!! before I even had a chance to stress over it. The most epic example of this was when my husband and I started to lose faith in our original caterer literally one month before the big day. Anadina emailed a caterer she had worked with and, because of her amazing reputation, he answered her within minutes and BOOM -- we had a contract the next day and basically got a second wedding planner in our caterer, giving us even less details to fret over. Anadina was also a hit with the guests. I'm unsure if I had even said it out loud that I thought the lighting was too bright during dinner. Lo and behold -- we see Anadina up on a ladder, dimming those bad boys. Anadina very well may double as a mind reader? She also ensured that only approved guests could come into the bridal suite to see me before I walked down the aisle in the classiest way (people have no boundaries, but Anadina made sure that mine were respected). My friends and family were so impressed at her dedication, expertise and grace. I cannot forget to mention that Anadina told us she was a day of coordinator... make no mistake; she is a FULL BLOWN WEDDING PLANNER. She did not draw lines with us -- she held herself accountable to give us the wedding of our dreams, no matter what that meant. Long calls at late hours, taking responsibility for literally ALL OUR VENDORS!!, and keeping it all in lock step without taking us out of the moment even once. Many people want to do what Anadina does but she was truly BORN for the wedding industry. You can't teach that kind of talent. It is her calling, and anyone who gets to work with her gets touched by pure magic. She took care of me, and I found myself mourning the loss of her involvement in my life as the wedding started winding down. We could not have done any of it without her and I will miss working with her. She will forever be a part of our story and I'm eternally grateful for that!!!

Today was my first time ever visiting this fabric store and I was not happy with the service at…read moreall. As soon as I walked in, the only store employee who was working at the time named JANE did not greet me at all. She showed poor customer service and was not able to help me with what I needed. When I walked over to where she was standing she failed to greet me again as a customer, and never said anything such as "How May I help you?" Once I finally got Jane's attention she just stared at me...so I proceeded to let her know the reason why I'm visiting the store was to find a beige colored piece of fabric to patch up a mark I had on my coat. The first thing Jane told me was "we don't have that type of material." She didn't bother to look at my garment or offer to assist me in finding something similar. She then proceeded to tell me "you can look around yourself." I almost walked out of the store due to her lack of customer service. I was honestly disgusted by her attitude and how rude she was. Jane, I hope you learn how to have basic customer service skills one day because your service was awful towards me.

It can be difficult to find Crane & Co. notecards and stationery, but Paper Grace on Main had quite and assortment. The unique cards for birthdays, anniversaries, and other occasions were great--some made me laugh out loud when I read them. The cards are NOT stuff you will find in a Hallmark or other card store. They also have wonderful gift wrap and writing instruments. Definitely worth stopping in if you're in the area!

This is the third time we ordered business cards from them. The quality of the cards is superb. These are printed on high quality stock that make a great first impression on potential clients. I've seen business cards that people get from discount places advertised on the radio for 500 cards for $10 and you can tell that those cards are very low quality.
