Terrible customer service and I didn't even go inside. I tried to step aside to make room for the people going outside and out of nowhere the man with the long blonde/brown hair aggressively questioned me and I was too surprised to say anything so he told me I'm not allowed inside and closed the chain. We were refused entry to the store. Yesterday me and my friends wanted to stop by this establishment to view their products, unfortunately we were not even allowed inside. We stood outside the store and were told to wait as there were a few people inside. While we waited a couple of people exited the store, my friend, who was by the door was trying his best to make room for them to exit by pushing himself against the door and make space. After the people exited he was questioned by a musty looking white blonde/brown haired man whose hair looked like it was soaked in hot oil. My friend was asked "Do you usually block the way for people" in a belittling tone, not understanding what this questionable looking man was asking, he had only heard the follow up question which was "have you ever been in an elevator" which he replied with "yeah" that is when we were told we were not allowed in. We don't understand why we were denied entry when the people who exited the store had no complaints about the way we were standing, nor did we provoke and damage or hurt anyone. Horrible establishment, don't go here!! Unless you wanna get treated like this then be my guest . read more

I saw many good reviews and online videos of the great service and was very excited to visit. However, my experience was nothing like I expected and the cashier was very rude!(The cashier was blonde white guy and had a septum ring) My boyfriend had a question for the employee at the door (who was very nice) but the cashier butted in and asked very loudly what we asked about. Then when we checked out the cashier stared at us very intensely so we thought he was waiting on us to pay and rudely told us to wait for him to scan the other item. His tone was very monotone and uncheerful aswell, it was just very uncomfortable and unpleasant. It didn't seem like he wanted us to be there at all. I don't expect a lot but it ruined the entire experience as it was the first shop we stopped at. I would not recommend to anyone to go here, find another store with similar selections instead. read more

Located in the Japanese Village Plaza, i spied with my little eye an adorable and lovely baby clothes/kids boutique. The inside has some of the winsome Japanese cartoon character plush toys and enchanting little blankets with soft pastel colors. They sell the little Alpaca jumbo plushies and cuuuute little Kimono shirts for babies!!! I saw popular characters like Pusheen, Hayao Miyazaki, Sanrio, and Korean characters too. This store has unique baby gift ideas and beanies on cute mannequins. The level of cuteness has been delivered. I enjoy the fun of Little Tokyo. read more

Love the store. It's so cute in there but whoever the girl with the yellow bleached eyebrows and orange hair who was cashier today was extremely rude and threw my stuff in the bag and threw the bag in front of me and just sat back down without saying anything. Horrible customer service. They don't attend to you and leave you waiting for a long time. The girl with the blonde hair and the bleached brows was extra rude for no reason, didn't seem like she wanted to be there and gave attitude. She also threw my bag onto the counter. I wasn't the only one she was rude to. She was rude to a few of the customers after me and was only nice to one girl who she proceeded to talk to for a long time which held up the line. Come here a lot with my boyfriend. Love this place but hate ray! He's rude ass hell to everyone including me when I go in but always tried to hit on my boyfriend, very condescending unless he wants to hit on you. Such a cute shop! I got a free pen after my purchase. They have cute toddler clothes, which was only slightly disappointing because there were some things I think my daughter would have worn. But she's 8yo now. So I bought her some toys. It probably attracts a lot of tourists with all the Miyazaki themed toys, posters, and swag. read more

Great little kids boutique! They carry lots of interesting and unique clothing for little ones. I love Asian fashion for kids but I struggle with that fine line between hip and fobby. But this place offers a lot of clothing that is hip and super comfy looking! Check it out if you're sick of the Gap. They also carry a ton of fun retro toys, like Monchhichi, Kewpie and Rody! I'm a little obsessed with the miniature Rody (see photo). The owner Greg is super cool too! My visit in LA had a whole bunch of different purposes, and one of them was to visit my friend and her newborn baby girl. I of course wasn't going to walk in empty handed so this place was a godsend. The space was a cute little shop and the person behind the counter was the owner. We gave an age range and a price range and was pointed towards items. She was really helpful and courteous and even gave us a break on a baby toy/rattle. She was really friendly and answered all our questions we had about where the items were sourced and there were these adorable mobiles that she found in Cambodia. Places like this is what shopping local is really about, an owner who cares about the store and what goes in it, as well as being able to find unique items. read more

It's such a cute place! I came here to get a gift for my friend's birthday (she loves Totoro-themed things). I found what I was looking for, and I think I will come back to get some things for my baby when she joins our world in March :] They have itty-bitty shoes for babies as well as clothes. They also have really cute Pusheen merchandise--I almost missed it but I spotted a pair of really cute slippers that I also ended up getting for my friend. Adorable children's things in the heart of Little Tokyo. I purchased a really unique onesie for a friend's baby that is absolutely adorable! Gorgeous clothes and toys. I spotted this place whilst wandering around the Japanese Village Mall and had to check it out! I mean, how can you not with that name?! The actual store turned out to be as delightful as its cheeky name. It's basically a lil kids clothing store with fun t-shirts, toys, accessories and said "monkey" pants and I ended up picking up a pair for my niece. The owner is a really nice lady who chatted with us while we were browsing around. We also got to bounce around on these giant rubber creatures, one of which can apparently support 250 pounds! I LOVE this place. The prices are awesome and the owner sells stuff you can't get ANYWHERE! (Unless you want to fly to Japan.) When I buy baby clothes as a gift, I won't settle for Baby Gap, Baby Toys R Us, or Target. Theses places are so boring and ordinary. (And not very "special" for a gift.) And Bloomingdales or other Westside boutique baby/kid clothes stores are a total ripoff! And THAT'S why MONKEY PANTS is... um... so awesome!!!! The owner is a mom. And she REALLY cares about helping her customers find the right clothes/socks/bib/doll/whatever. This is a privately owned store. No big corporation paying the bills. i drove an hour out of my way to buy here, and I will be back! It felt great to support a private, independent biz! Walked in and the first question I am asked is, "Do you have a child?" The beautiful thing about this was that a child, himself, asked me this question. He asked me a couple more and guided me through the selection at Monkey Pants. He helped me pick a shirt for my son. Very cute selection though I wish I could have spent more time browsing.
