We did not have a subfloor, so our existing floor sagged and bent as you walked on it, so we laid the new floor over the top, using the existing floor as a subfloor. It turned out perfect (and now we have a solid floor), and as you can see in the photos there was a lot of difficult cut work around a floor grate (access to the crawlspace) and a fireplace which is at an angle. They completed all the work (about 800 square feet with LOTS of doorways and small rooms) in just three full days, kept the work area clean as they went (since we were still living in it), and cleaned up completely each evening. HIGHLY recommended. I was fortunate enough that my neighbor used Vinny as well so I could see his work prior, so I tried to include some decent photos here for anyone else. I will also say that we did not know much about wood flooring when we started, so Vinny also helped us figure the best way to go (engineered or hardwood, what size slats, etc), which made us feel a lot better about the decisions we had to make. All sorted out before 9am on a Saturday. Speedy, friendly service. By 11:45 they were done and on their way to the next job. Now, that said, here are some more outstanding points: * Communication . They sent me several text messages throughout the morning to let me know their status. They said they would arrive between 11 and 12 and they arrived just a hair after 11. * Equipment. Gabriel rolled up in a shiny, clean, European style white box truck. It had the big built-in contraption for heating the water and sucking it back out. All the hoses were clean and the pretreatment smelled great! * Friendly. Gabriel and his coworker (sorry, I didn't get his name) were both smiling and were happy to explain about how the pH can affect the carpet, and why the water they were using made all the difference in the quality outcome I could expect. * Professional. Attention to detail. All the vacuum marks lined up and looked great! Gabriel even put plastic under the feet of the sofa to protect the wood and under a large mirror too. He spent extra time going over a dirty soap spot left over from a previous cleaning (provided by my apartment complex) I'm going to have them back to do my sofa and love seat. I agreed to wait since I liked the reviews I read on Yelp. The morning of the job I get a call from him saying that there is an issue with the grout company getting my grout. He said he'd get it straightened out and could come two days later to complete the job. I agreed. Then the morning of the second appointment I get a similar call and he said that he is not sure exactly how long it will take to get the grout but that he should be able to get it eventually. Then a week later, when I hadn't heard any updates, I told him I'm going to move forward with another company if I do not get word he told me that he ultimately couldn't get the right color grout. His communication throughout the process was inconsistent. I do not get upset when issues arise since I know that things happen. It's more about how it is handled and Gabriel was disrespectful of my time and a poor communicator throughout. I recommend that you avoid this company.
