The waitress was sweet and very good and friendly. The chips and salsa are free - with unlimited quantities. In addition to the salsa, the waitress brought 3 squirt containers of hot sauce/salsa/cheese sauce and they were tasty. In addition to the main menu, they had a sign on the tables with additional options. My friend ordered the nachos with choice of meat (he got chicken) and he got the 1/2 order. It's a good thing he only got 1/2 because that was so huge that he ended up bringing some home. I got the burrito salad 1/2 order and it came with the choice of meat. I didn't get any meat. It had rice, beans, avocado, lettuce, tomato, cheese and cilantro. It was really good and the perfect size portion after I ate too many chips and salsa while waiting for the food. But everything else just misses the mark. The ambiance and decor look very cheap and thrown together -- it feels more like they raided a dollar store for decorations. It's just average, which would be fine if it were priced fairly. But for what you're getting, it's way too expensive. To make matters worse, they've never gotten my order right, which gets frustrating after giving them multiple chances. Overall, I can't recommend Los Pinguinos.
