She then tried to charge me for SNS, even though I had asked for gel. After speaking with her about it, she switched it back. A month later, I tried to take the SNS off myself, but without success. I called the salon and asked if they would take it off for free since I never asked for it in the first place (I was happy to tip though!). The person who answered the phone spoke to Jimmy, one of the owners, and Jimmy agreed that I could get it off for free, so I made an appointment. I got a pedicure and I got the SNS taken off. I spoke to the person at the front and told her that Jimmy had said I wouldn't be charged for the SNS removal. The person asked the other owner, Jimmy's wife, Katie, and Katie refused to honor it. She said it was a "miscommunication." Again, hate to be a complainer, but I thought it was important to share. I won't be going back.

I have to also say, I was shocked to watch two customers getting broken nails fixed and not tipping the nail technician. Sandy Springs is not a poor community. If you have $50 to get your nails done, or you can simply afford to have someone else do your nails for you, then you certainly have a few more dollars to tip a nail technician who depends on tips for their livelihood - it's not like they are salaried employees or even paid hourly. Hairdressers and nail technicians are dependent upon tips - EVERYBODY KNOWS THIS. My nail technician told me that it actually happens more frequently than you would expect in this neighborhood. She said she also has customers with money who say they'll Venmo her a tip yet they never do. If you're not gonna tip the nail technician (and, yes, you do tip for the repair of a broken nail), then don't go in there! Do your own nails!
