We returned to one of our area favorites, and yet again, our tastebuds were tantalized…read more They have added several dipping sauces to the menu and for our first venture into these new additions, we tried the Olive Oil, Garlic and Basil sauce. It was brimming with fresh garlic, basil and capers. It was beautifully presented with a garnish of marinated basil leaves, tomato, green pepper and onion. We ordered a second basket of their delightful dinner rolls, just to continue enjoying the sauce. As great as the dipping sauce was, their Minestrone soup was one of the best of all that I have had the pleasure of enjoying. The pasta was comprised of penne as well as tortellini, the vegetables were likewise adventurous : artichoke hearts, zucchini, mushrooms, tomatoes (of course), onions, and capers (see the photo). The stock was rich and flavorful, accented by pieces of lemon , ever so slightly reminiscent of one of my favorite Greek soups, Avgolemono; yet definitely replete with the classic Italian mystique that is Minestrone. The Veal Parmigiana was awesome and their Limoncello Mascarpone was a good rendition of the classic Italian dessert. Our server was the best, and handsome to boot!!

This place used to be excellent. It was run by Italian brothers, who provided excellent food and…read moreservice. Then it turned ghetto. Waitress delivered our food while yapping on the phone. Then some random guy, a friend of the waitress who had been sitting and talking to her on Her breaks, got up and refilled our drinks which were empty for quite awhile. We thought we would give them another chance. On our last trip here, the server/ hostess walked past us several times without acknowledging us. We never got seated so we walked out. We won't return

I love the vibe of this place. It's a little rough on both the exterior and interior, but it just…read morereminds me of those hidden gems where you know the food will just hit different. I actually think some of the items here are pretty good, but comparatively speaking, I've certainly had much better. Firehouse is definitely different than what you normally find in Danville. It takes a step away from the Midwestern fare and takes me a bit closer to my personal comfort spot, Southern cooking. When I see fried catfish on the menu, my eyes make a beeline to it. This food can satisfy my cravings until I get home, but would never replace it fully. First time I visited, I got their fried catfish and shrimp combo with fries. Firehouse definitely gets an A+ on their seasoning, they season everything up heavily and more! The catfish was definitely overdone and wasn't flakey. The shrimp was pretty subpar in my opinion, really rubbery and not very fun to eat. It was just greasy and messy to eat. The french fries here are superb though. I came back and was in the mood for their gyro. They really loaded that sandwich up, I would say they made it too big for its own good. Don't get me wrong, I love extra food, but the extra food caused the sandwich to collapse on itself. I ended up eating the items individually, rather than all together. And I am aware that this is not a specialty Arabic/Greek restaurant, but the quality of the gyro meat was just fine, nothing too crazy. I really want to like this place more than I have so far. The employees here are super nice and the menu is just so appealing and is a nice change in pace to the diner style menus. Having that variety instantly makes it a place worthy of a revisit in my eyes!

Delicious!!!!! Fish is superb. Shrimp pieces are large and tasty…read more I am a huge fish fan and have not had good fish in quite some time, but Firehouse is definitely good!! Fries are seasoned and yummy as well. You definitely have to try if you are a fish fan
