The french fries were actually really good. Very large portions of french fries. My sister and I could've shared one order. I had the grilled cheese sandwich and my sister had the chicken sandwich. The crust on the chicken sandwich was perfect. The grilled cheese sandwich was just average. The people were really nice. I don't have any regrets about stopping. They have a large variety of shakes, drinks and a great burger menu. I'd recommend to stop here if you're in the area and you like burgers. It is a smaller establishment. The ambience is just average too. Nothing fancy nor gross. Just average.

I got the mozzarella burger with grilled onions, mayo and mustard with salt. I was nervous bc I was the only one that didn't order a double burger but the single was enough. Love that the burger hangs out beyond the bun. There was a good amount of cheese and onion. The salt was just right. Mayo and mustard were good too. Sometimes you just don't get enough but I found it to be the proper amount. Ordered the family size fries and they fed 5 of us with leftovers. The fries were pretty good and crispy too considering they went on a 20 minute journey in the bag back to the house. Would definitely eat here again.

Funny there was nobody maintaining the lobby or elsewhere. I was very very disappointed if I could give 0 star review I would. In the nearby towns of this there's like 2 more restaurants they put the sign up because the real reason they were closing the store 3 hours later and didn't want to serve me or anything else but tried to force me to order 2 go food why would I want 2 go food I wanted to go out to eat. I try and utilize business in my small area to show support cause everything has been closed around my home. Normally when Ive come here I've expected slow inconsistent service old food old fries and high prices. I'm afraid I won't be back to give them any more chances. They have lost my business for good. I guess I should have visited a different place with better food and services. I won't be surprised when this fast food place closes its doors as well U just feel bad for the employees who won't be able to pay their bills when they go under. Remember it's the customers money that pays your salary and your bills. So so disappointed. I hope your employees can find better paying jobs at the other local scarce restaurants.

They checked up on us multiple times throughout our meal and were nothing short of perfection. The food was so good and cheap which is just what we needed in during this tumultuous trip. Thank you Danville, Illinois Steak 'n Shake for your hospitality and putting your blood sweat and tears into the preparation of our delicious food.

Generally speaking, El Toro you your no nonsense Mexican spot with plenty of options, big portions and tasty food. The ambiance here is vibrant, but accommodating and the service is attentive and friendly. For me, one option always catches my eye and that is the Acapulco Special. Arroz con pollo always is a hit for me, so why not make it even better? The Acapulco special has chicken, steak AND shrimp on top of rice, covered in cheese sauce. It doesn't get better than that. Not only are the meats a plenty in this dish, but everything about it tastes great. The meats have good flavor and get cooked well, the salad is refreshing, and you can easily make a few tacos with the provided tortillas. The cheese sauce is creamy and rich, but not too heavy so that you feel terrible after. This is the dish for sure. Overall, solid Mexican spot that will come through for you in the end.
