Placed a to go order while we were in town visiting family. They have been saying they love the burgers so we decided to get burgers and fries for dinner. I got the mozzarella burger with grilled onions, mayo and mustard with salt. I was nervous bc I was the only one that didn't order a double burger but the single was enough. Love that the burger hangs out beyond the bun. There was a good amount of cheese and onion. The salt was just right. Mayo and mustard were good too. Sometimes you just don't get enough but I found it to be the proper amount. Ordered the family size fries and they fed 5 of us with leftovers. The fries were pretty good and crispy too considering they went on a 20 minute journey in the bag back to the house. Would definitely eat here again. read more

Everything you read about the place is accurate. The food was good and the service was decent. I had planned on getting a burger and read all the reviews. Everyone raved about the pizza burger so I decided to try that instead. It was great. Soaked the bottom bun so I just flipped it over and ate it. Tons of fries. They had a family fry option for five or six times as much as the regular fry. I could not imagine how many thousand fries would be in that bag. Ridiculous. It was late and there was only one family eating in the restaurant. I took mine to go so that may have assisted with the soggy bottom bun, but did not take away from the flavor. These burger pics all look so inviting, smash burger sort of theme. I should have suspected the fake burger pretenders when I discovered I couldn't get lettuce or tomatoes. Wife had a chicken sandwich that was fair. (Freak. If you go to a BURGER PLACE, order a BURGER). My double cheeseburger.. maybe over cooked- is that possible with a pile of beef and tallow? I took a big bite out of the part hanging over the edges of the bun summoning me to inhale it... and I was quite surprised- I had to quickly check the flap of my USPS brown box that needed mailed to see if I had mistaken one for the other in a blind moment of unconsciousness. The food here is great! I ALWAYS stop in for a pizza burger no matter what is going on! The service is always on point and it's great to see friendly familiar faces when you go in. The owner is a veteran and there is lots of military related articles and memorabilia on the walls that is really a cool tribute to the guys and gals who protect the country. If you are visiting the area, or live there and haven't tried it GO! We've been going since it first opened which is why we always go when we go back home to visit. Love it! Overall, the smash burgers are very good and we loved the shoe string fries! However, I believe it would be best taken to go. The restaurant was poorly arranged and it was difficult to get between the tables and chairs when they were busy. It was very dirty; food and trash all over the floor, and food and condiments on the tables. Our service was super fast and everyone we talked with was friendly. I'd love to see more burger topping options. And the aggressive patriotic/military decor, memorabilia, and even recruitment pamphlets were a bit much (though some of it did give us a chuckle). read more

Awesome little burger joint we found on the way to Indy. Had the American Triple Cheeseburger that was on special...mmmmm. The fries were "ridiculous too....a small bag if fries stuffed into a bigger bag then showered with even more fries!! Great seasoning salts to add were at the table. Banana shake and vanilla shake....AWESOME! Fries were fresh out of the fryer and seasoned. 10/10 would make the hour drive just for the fries. Not 100% sure what the seasoning was, probably just salt but had another flavor too. Maybe it was the grease, maybe we were just hungry but they are great! Burger. 100% disappointed. My wife and I found this place on Yelp! while running some errands in Danville, and wanting a quick burger. We walked in to the sound of "The Moody Blues" on the radio -- Gotta be a good place! This is a really simple spot, small and friendly, with a menu that really concentrates on burgers -- very tasty burgers. You can get them with from one to three patties, with or without cheese, as a "pizza burger", etc. The patties are smashed thin and wide, and develop lovely crispy edges. These aren't the "thick and juicy" burgers (that can also be quite good) sold by other restaurants. The buns are good, toasted as I recall. My first trip, I had a double cheeseburger. My second, a double pizza burger. I think the menu has a chicken or fish or something-like-that sandwich, but I'm guessing that's just for the tourists. :-) The fries are good, though not my favorite style. Tip: I usually ask for my fries "extra crispy", but that's not a good plan here, as they have better body, texture, and flavor when done just the way they normally do them. On the tables are makeshift shakers of a couple of powders (garlic and chili) to be sprinkled as desired on sandwich and/or fries. Ambiance: It's a burger joint. You order at the counter and go find a table. There's classic rock playing over the audio system. The place is decorated with US Marines posters, news clips, "ammunition", etc. When we're in the area, this has become our spot for a quick and tasty burger. read more

Oh yum!!!! This place is awesome!!! I had a work assignment in Danville, IL, and I was trying to find a place to eat at. A coworker searched on yelp and found this place; the outside is not the prettiest of decors. I was very hesistant; however, after all the great reviews, I decided to go try it. I ordered a cheeseburger, fries, and a small drink; the total was only $5.22! You can't get cheaper than that! The burger is flat and awesome; the fries are good, but it was pretty salty (hence the 4 stars instead of 5). They had cheyenne pepper and garlic salt for the fries, if you'd like. I recommend this place to anyone; it's really good and definitely worth the stop if you are in Danvile. It's pretty close to the highway (couple of miles). read more

My daughter and her husband say this is one of the better burger joints here in Danville and that they have even won best burger here in town. Today we were invited out for lunch and this was our meeting place. From all the hype and the traffic coming from the building I thought wow, this place must be bomb. The place was smoky from the tons of fresh hamburger patties they had going on the grill. The line was long but the servicke was quick. Their menu is pretty simple, fresh ground beef burgers and fries, oh a fish sandwich and a pizza burger as well. They called our order and it arrived to the table in white paper bags. We ordered double cheeseburger and fries. The burgers were dressed in the usual mayo, ketchup, mustard, pickles, & onions, (the McD's set up) No lettuce and tomato here. I'm not big on cheese but when I seen that the cheese on my double cheeseburger had almost disappeared from the patty I was like ok, i guess it's just a thin slice to hold the patties together like a glue. In my opinion, I thought the meat tasted good, it wasn't over seasoned and you could taste the beef and the char from all the other burgers cooked on the grill. I also thought that a meat with a little more fat content might be nice to help moisten up the burger. The fries were a thin cut fry and kinda overcooked to where they were kinda potato chip crunch and not seasoned very good. Over all I would say this place was ok. I liked that it was a patriotic place, displaying tons of marine corps items. I would suggest using a thicker cheese or add another slice to give you the taste of a double cheeseburger. read more
