We have eaten at this Applebees many times. it is almost ALWAYS jammed with patrons. I was shocked to see a 3 star rating. Wait staff is amazing and even the manager/owner is serving food. The food has always been excellent. The only thing we ever had a problem with were alcoholic beverages. We are NOT big drinkers, rare for us, but, we each had a drink recently and I think they forgot the alcohol. No we didn't complain but would the next time we ordered drinks. Normally we do soft drinks anyway. BUT, that aside, it is an excellent food establishment and the full parking lot attests to it. read more

Had to send my steak back. My plate was full of juicey and looked like blood from the steak. How could you not see it was not done? There were a few spots on the side of the steak that were still slightly red. I asked for done and I got medium rare. It came back and looked as if it was just switched onto a different plate. I even told the waitress that and she said she saw him put it back on the grill but the steak had cheese on it and if it had been put on the grill the cheese would have been charred some and it was not at all. So I continued to go ahead and ate half of it. She did ask if I wanted to send it back a 2nd time but I said no due to having to wait 45 minutes to begin with to get the dinner to start with. But took 5 minutes to send back and out again the 1st send back. So no. They didn't fix it the way I asked the 2nd time then a 3rd time would not make a difference either. The waitress did give a discount on the ticket but to me that didn't matter when I came to eat regardless of the price and expected to get what I wanted and I didn't get it. If I wanted to keep sending my dinner back I could have gone somewhere cheaper if I was concerned with the price. I was looking forward to a steak dinner cause I was taking my grandson on a date for his birthday. Oh and for his birthday gift from them, I've never seen such a thing. I have always seen them give a birthday treat that was a big bowl with a Sunday treat in it. Not this time. They should have kept that too and just not even bothered. It was in a small glass that was flared at the top they use for alcoholic drinks. 1 scoop of ice cream and some hot fudge. He chose to go to Applebee's for our date for his birthday and I felt so bad for him that our dinner date turned out like that for his birthday. Yes, I am very disappointed with how it all was especially since I haven't been there in over a year and a half because the service or quality of food had gone down and I believe this time was worse than last time. My family and I used to go to Applebee's at least once a week and now we don't go but once in a while and nothing is improving. I planned on taking pics when we received our food but was distracted by all of this that went on. When we first got there we had to ask the server to wipe our booth down because the seats were so bad. It looked like on 1 side that someone poured salt all over it and the other side looked like a child had been sitting there eating with greasy hands and I didn't want grease or food all over my good clothes. So yeah, pretty much a complete fail. Makes me so sad to know how they have gone down so far. They used to be the best place here. read more

The girl acted like we didn't exist. And ignored any eye contact I think it is this era of not looking at people. Sad. Bartenders use to have pride in keeping bar clean. There were dirty plates and empty glasses on the rail in several places They don't wipe up when someone leaves. You have to ask for them to wipe off you area. Makes you wonder if they are good to eat line that?? Had to ask for them-to wipe bar when we sat down after waiting about 10 minutes. This was a really cool Applebee's, obviously this was a new store and once inside I had to look around because it didn't look like your average Applebee's. I was seated right away and the waitress was immediately at my table getting my drink order. I ordered the sweet and spicy pickles appetizer which was excellent . For dinner I ordered the Hot Shot Whisky Chicken. It was perfectly cooked and juicy. I was just in the area for a few days on business, but will definitely come back next time I'm in town. read more

I could over look all that if the food was good but it's not up to the same standard as you would get at other Applebee's restaurants. My husband ordered a steak medium rare and the first one overdone and the second one raw. They took it back and when it came back it still wasn't right, unevenly cooked. He ate none of it. They took it off bill but we didn't want it off bill he just wanted a good steak. We got there at 430 and the place was dirty and then the dinner crowd was coming in and I couldn't believe they were sitting customers where under the tables was a mess! I'm visiting Danville and know Applebee's from the Chicago area. Even though the reviews here on Yelp were not good, I decided to try last night. The food was delicious. I had the lemon chicken with quinoa. Unfortunately the staff I interacted with were not great - which is the reason my overall rating is a 3. The hostess seemed uncertain of where to seat me (walked me to 3 tables before making a decision). She seemed flustered about the server's stations - isn't that something she is supposed to know? The waitress was fine, but not very attentive or engaging. I was in no hurry so the experience didn't frustrate me. Under different circumstances it would have. Feels like they are going through some start-up pains still. Hopefully they'll retain their kitchen staff and improve the rest of the team to make it an overall positive experience. read more

If I could give zero stars I would because they didn't even deserve one star! Sat down at the bar & the bartender waitress we had didn't give us any conversation or anything. It was almost like she didn't know she was the waitress because we had to ask for everything we got. The only thing she did for us was fill our drinks one time & swipe our credit card. Never once did she ask how we were doing or even make eye contact for that matter! The other lady working in the bar took our order & gave us more time of day than our waitress. Meanwhile, our waitress was on her phone, giving these men her entire attention the entire time we were there and she was talking to a coworker about her personal life and how much she would rather not be there. We ordered an appetizer with entrees deal but never received our app. Food came out and we told them we never got it so it came out 5 minutes after our food and we had to eat it along with our meals. My friends meal was not correct what so ever with the side dishes being wrong and the steak being way too over done when that's not how it was ordered. People sitting near us got their nachos burnt, an older couple who ordered ten minutes before us got their food 15 minutes after us & another group of people never got their appetizer either. You all need a serious wake up call if you think this is good service! Not to mention, we may have got food poisoning because my friend and I's stomachs hurt like hell! I'm all for new restaurants opening up but this one may as well board up and close already. You lost our business! read more

Went here last night with two friends. Arrived at 4:30 and were immediately seated and given menus by the hostess. At 5:10 we were really angry. No one had ever come to our table, said hello, given us water, said "Look over the menus and I'll be right back," or anything. Nothing! 40 minutes! In the meantime a waitress walked up and down the aisle about 30 times. We called to her, waved at her, even stuck an arm out in the aisle...no acknowledgment whatsoever. We wondered if we were under a cloak of invisibility! We stood up and started to put on our coats to leave. The manager appeared out of nowhere and asked if we had been served and were we leaving. We told him why were leaving. He apologized and offered to comp all our meals. We said no, too late. Very upsetting. I want to see is place succeed in Danville, but they need to get their act together or they'll go the way of so many businesses before them and close in six months. I went there with a party of five on a Tuesday night. They were busy, but at least half the tables were empty. Still, there was a crowd of people waiting to be seated. It took them half an hour to get us to a table. Why? It's a mystery. The waitress was great, very nice and attentive, but it seemed like the kitchen was slow. It took them 15 minutes to produce our chips and salsa. One order arrived incorrect, and it took them more than 20 minutes to fix the problem. This is a nice new building and Applebee's menu is pretty standard, so it's obviously a staffing problem. I hope they get it turned around soon. read more
