I've ate here previously years ago and in town decided to come. It hasn't changed on the inside at all. Oldie, but goodie! You come in get seated and to the bar you grab veggies, noodles, meats and then chose your sauces. Once it's done it's pippin hot and delicious. It's served with a side of rice if you'd like. I'm not sure, but I think the same lady is still there from back in the day. Nevertheless, she's just a friendly as she was back then. She makes sure you are happy, full and have enough to drink. We had not ate here in years but we decided to try it today, was pretty shocked to see 12 dollars plus per person for lunch and 2.30 something for a can of soda, then we saw the price for a child lunch buffe 7+ dollars for a child over 3 years.. that is absolutely ridiculous. There is better food in town for less. Edit: all 3 of us had a crappy stomach after the visit. The little one has had 3 completely soiled diapers since lunch. They have noodles as the base, and then also bring white rice or fried rice to the table. Their sodas are served in cans, so no complimentary refills. I really want to give this place more stars, but I couldn't. Let's start with the positive. I live Mongolian. This one has a good variety of vegetables and meat. They have a price for lunch, brunch and dinner. You cannot take any leftovers (pretty standard). The negatives: The dining furniture isn't comfortable. The cooks only cook for one person at a time so it gets backed up (this isn't normal - most cook several at a time). The bathroom smelled like raw sewage. Not sure why this place is packed. The floor is dirty and sticky, and they are pretty slow because they only have one 'stove'. Their bathroom is filthy. We tried their lumpias; average taste and filled with little pebbles/sands- literally. We told the rude young girl at the front desk, and all she said was "I'll let the chef know." I was walking around casually and decided to eat at this restaurant, I was greeted very nicely and sat, the pictures I saw online exited me but when I arrived it was very very sad. I will say the choice of vegetables are good and pretty fresh but when you go to the meats and other items it's all old looking and sad very low quality stuff and variety. I like this place. I've been coming here for years and I came again this weekend. I love that you can build your own bowl by yourself and pick whatever you like from a plethora of options. If you want a lot of food you can get it because you choose. I wouldn't sit in and eat it because the ambiance is not it. They should definitely do some updates to the dining experience because if you're coming from outta town you wouldn't want to sit down or use the bathroom in there. But the food slaps. The staff was friendly and attentive. The lunch specials are reasonably priced. The drink dispenser out of service when I ate, I hope it is addressed soon. Not the friendliest crew... but I didn't travel 71 miles to "meet the crew" per se; we showed up to eat! I was SUPER excited because the Mongolian grill restaurant in Greenville shut down and It had been a while since I had that type of food. The atmosphere wasn't the cleanest but looking past everything, it was doable. We waited in a long line, but I'm used to the wait in terms of this type of restaurant usually having one grill. The floor was nasty (especially around the grill) and tables and chairs were sticky. Due to COVID, I will not complain about the one waitress for the entire restaurant. Her words sounded happy to help but when attempting to get her attention, you could tell she was frustrated when called upon. The unfortunate part was, they temporarily ran out of meat for the buffet! Here I am, standing there with 4 whiny kids waiting for meat after informing the crew TWICE. 10 minutes is a long time to wait for meat after already waiting for a long line of people to begin with. Matter of fact, the family behind us (in line) told us that this was their SECOND time coming up to the buffet without meat. The crew FINALLY brought some and our food was cooked but it tasted "meh". Normally, you'd get soup, rice and bread with this sort of meal and as we looked around, we noticed we had no soup like other people. I asked the waitress about our soup and she said, they had no more! NOT ONE PERSON explained this to us until I asked and we already had our food. (I witnessed another couple being briefed on this "soup shortage" prior to ordering their drinks (same waitress... NOT FAIR). At checkout, I asked since we had no soup like others, if there was a discounted price and the answer was a big fat "NO". For my fiancé and three kids (1 infant-not included), we were charged $73.00! No discount or ANYTHING! I feel ripped off and I will highly encourage my family and friends to refrain from eating at this restaurant. I DO NOT recommend it! Save your money... I wish saved mine... We have been going to this restaurant for years !! It has been down hill for awhile ! Tonight we went and all the meat was defrosted sitting in blood of the meat. They were still serving it. It was gross. First the soda machine went out about 6mos- a year ago. Hasn't been fixed they sell by the can. Then they are always out of the types of drinks . After tonight we will never go back again it was disgusting!! What surprised us as there was people instead eating the food. The manager was not concerned of what we told him. Not sorry nothing. Interior and exterior isn't very appealing to the eye. I would say the overall cleanliness isn't the greatest but I definitely wouldn't call it dirty by any means. Customer service was good, cooks are pretty quick for a 2 man grill. Also, all the food I tried was great, which it is hard to mess up a Mongolian grill means you pick your own ingredients. All in all I would give it 4 stars due to a solid experience, good food and was only 36.72$ for 4 people, drinks, 2 sides of hot n sour soup and a side of fried rice. I am a good friend, I mean a really GOOD friend. This is one of those places where you walk in, only to walk out seconds later.. change of mind.. Abort! Abort! I only stayed because it was my friend's choice for his birthday dinner, if it would have been me.. I would have walked out. To begin, this place did not have the smell of "good food", it kind of smelled like an old restaurant. It's bad when the food that's COOKED in center of the restaurant can't mask the unpleasant smell. 2) Bugs! I understand that from time to time, a bug or two will get in, but when I tell the employees about it.. they ignored it. 3) The sauces are a joke. Came in last night with my daughter who randomly said she wanted to come here even though weve never been here before. I was instantly greeted on walking in by one of the friendliest people ive met in awhile. She proceeded to explain to us how things worked and was super patient when we started ordering. Ive never been to a set up like this and thougt it was very different. You go around this walk around bar picking out vegetables and meats and sauces as you like and put in in a large bowl. Then hand it to the chef who cooks everything hibatchish style. The portions are huge and well priced. As large as the bowl was my daughter devoured it all which she never eats all of her food. It's an all you can eat buffet, with a twist - you fill up a bowl with noodles and various fixings, hand it to a chef, and he cooks it (in seconds) right there in front of you. There were a couple downsides - our waitress seemed to be easily flustered, but the other waitress working seemed very pleasant, thus making it an isolated incident. A rare treat in Jacksonville, NC. My wife and I have eaten here around ten times. The atmosphere is really laid back and the food is really good. This place does a great job at Mongolian BBQ and they do it at a really competative price. The place is very clean. Here is a breakdown of why this place is so good: 1. The veggies are very fresh and are constantly being re-stocked. I have never seen old veggies that are past there prime. 2. They constantly clean the place. The bathrooms are very clean and then area around the food buffet is immaculate. They do a great job of cleaning. 3. They have a great variety of sauces and seasoning for the Mongolian BBQ. Some of them are hard to reach without spilling, that is the only problem I have seen with the place. 4. The staff is very friendly and constantly re-fill beverages. 5. They do serve beer and wine.
