Value for AYCE hotpot? Great. It was $25 for dinner which I think is really hard to get these days anywhere. Quality was ok for veggies but not good for the meat. Their beef belly felt like 90% fat (wouldn't recommend) and the broth flavor was good but on the saltier side. They have a sauce bar and I usually like to make my sauce with sacha, which they had, but it was all oil. My biggest problem with this place is that the service was REALLY slow, as if they were understaffed. It took a really long time for them to help is with anything, including grabbing our order and bringing the check out. For a party of 2, i was there for 2.5 hours because things took a while. I'm not sure I would come back to this spot. The only option for hot pot is all you can eat at $40 per person. My weekly food budget is $50 so I'm not sure I get my money's worth out of one $40 meal! The original broth was WAYYY too salty. I could barely handle it toward the end. While the flavor was good, I couldn't sip the broth because of the salt content. The bar with sauces and sides was really nice. I love some fermented soy paste! Service was fine. They came by to check often. Came here with a couple girlfriends. It was my first time doing hot pot. Friendly service but somewhat slow. I wish they would have come back to our table more often to help clear plates. Overall it was pretty good and I would likely be back. What we loved: - Good pricing for AYCE menu - Food was pretty good and it's fun doing hotpot! - A lot of meat and noodle options and sides that are included into the price. Feedback: - Tables are really tight with all the food you can order. The stove was in the center of the table and the hot pot took up all the room. - The broth is refillable but I really wish we were each able to have our own broths. Not all of us eat the same stuff. - There weren't a lot of veggie options. - We kept getting warned about how spicy the levels were and that the pepper made the mouth numb, so we went with medium spicy. Myself and a couple girlfriends had lunch here today. They have a really nice lunch special, $25 all you can eat. You can't get some of the most desirable things, like shrimp, for example on the lunch menu. I get that though it's pricey and in order to keep it approachable for lunchtime, they had to make some choices. We went with the house broth and the tomato broth. They were both good, but I didn't think the tomato broth was just a tad on the watery side. I've been to other hot pot places that have a lot more flavor. The meats all tasted very high-quality. We had lamb shoulder, sliced ribeye, pork belly, fish, and fish balls. We also had some pumpkin which I loved, enoki mushrooms, Napa cabbage and pea sprouts. The star for me are the fresh noodles that they make in house. I absolutely love them. They cook up so nicely in the broth and come out perfectly chewy. They have a good sauce bar as well with some little salad salads. My personal favorite is the wood eared mushroom salad. Don't miss out on the ice cream at the end! The green tea option was very nice. The interior is nice and clean. Nothing spectacular, but enjoyable. They do play a weird mashup of K-pop and country music. My friends and I came here to celebrate one of our friend's birthdays. If it's your birthday, your meal is free. For august, they have a promo where it's $25 per person no matter the time or day. This was our first time here but some of us have had hot pot before. We got half and half of tomato & mild Sichuan spicy bone broth. Good thing we got mild because it was really spicy! It's all you can eat so we got multiple rounds of meats, seafood, noodles, veggies, etc. While we waited for our first round to come out, we went to the sauce bar and made our own sauces. They didn't have as many sides as other hot pot places I've been to. We tried the Chinese fritters with condensed milk and were pleasantly surprised how good they were. We kept ordering more of it. When you order more, they give you the same sheet you used before so it's hard if you order the same options again cause you run out of space. We ended with some ice cream. Food was good overall. The spicy soup base was good, but we didn't care for the classic/ original soup base for the seafood. Though it is more expensive, I prefer Tom Yum soup base at the UTC hot pot. We got the mixed broth so we could have two broths and two different soups. I They recommended the classic suitcase Love the salad bar with the Woodear mushroom salad, seaweed salad and cucumber salad. Service was good and attentive. The service was really great. Our waiter was funny and engaging. The ambiance was nice too. This place is Little Lamb but I don't know why they changed the name. I didn't like the variety of soup bases here but the meat quality is high. The original house soup base tasted bland had dried spices floating on top and the spicy house soup base had a lot of chopped up dried chillies on top that was a choking hazard as well. They have a big variety of meats including wagyu and lamb and seafood and veggies and noodles. They also have meat skewers and pot stickers/dumplings and cold side dishes. I think my favorite part was the tender wagyu meat dipped in the sesame sauce, cucumber salad, pot stickers, and the strawberry and matcha ice cream. Service could be better. Essentially they are making more money by not providing more hotpot's but essentially making you pay for an individual hot pot but you don't get your own side/portion of the pot if there is more than two people! But before I go on, I got to give a shoutout to Aaron, our awesome server, who helped me snuck in a surprise cake through the backdoor, and for keeping the table lively with jokes, refills, and general good vibes. Our BD boy even ate for free (just show ID). Bonus! So, this AYCE hot pot place replaces the LittleSheep that used to be here. Similar food but cheaper. Their soup base comes in4 flavors. You can also request a vegetarian broth. We did the yin/yang pot (original + spicy), which was flavorful but really spicy! To be fair, our server did warn us. Before it was too late, he helped us remove the chili cake at the bottom and prevented us from turning our tongues into lava--which we appreciated! Tons of protein options (Angus, wagyu belly, ribeye, lamb), fresh seafood (shrimp, clams, mussels), and solid veggies game. Also loved that they had yam noodles, oh, and the fish balls with roe was amazingly tasty! I recommend you try it. Everything was fresh, no sad-looking anything. The Sauce bar was clean and fully loaded. A couple of hiccups with meat orders, but quickly fixed. Free broth refills and self heat control kept everything cooking as we liked it. Bottom line: Flavorful broth, fresh ingredients, stellar service. Clean, spacious, and reasonably priced. It took no time for Mongolian to become my favorite hot spot place in San Diego. The restaurant is bright and comfortable. The orientation of the space is great whether you are coming solo, as a couple or in a group. The team is highly attentive and comes by frequently to refill water/drinks, add additional broth (no cost) and to check in about additional orders. You have the option of going a la cart or all you can eat. All you can eat is great --- $26 per person for lunch and $36 for dinner -- but know that the serving sizes her are ample. Very generous. No matter if it is your first, second or third order. So certainly come with others and pace. I like to start with two meats and two vegetables, and add more depending on appetite. The food here is absolutely fresh. Meaning the meats and vegetables taste as they should, are clean and at the right temperature. I have found with two other spots in town (to be unnamed) where the lamb doesn't taste like lamb at all and, even with marbling, the beef cuts are dry. I am always highly pleased with the actual flavor of the meats and vegetables. And what a variety! I always go with the original soup base (and add some of the garlic from the bar), but there are spicy and vegetarian options. I tried the medium spicy soup once and, on a scale of 1 to 10, it's at about a 4. I hear the house spicy soup is a 10. As for meats, you have lamb (a favorite), both Angus and Wagyu beef, beef belly, chuck (another favorite), bottom, ribeye, chicken breast, pork shoulder tendon and tripe. Lots of seafood options as well, to include shrimp, calamari and fish balls. I love the fish tofu as well. The vegetables and noodles are also abundant. Sprouts, cabbage, spinach, lettuce, watercress, bok choy, broccoli, potato, pumpkin, sweet corn, several types of mushrooms, egg and glass noodles -- and more.
