What I love most about the atmosphere is that you don't have to be anything but yourself and you don't have to be a fitness expert. There are so many different fitness levels, ages and backgrounds of people that are working on themselves for their own reasons and goals. I enjoy how each session is different from the last and the class sizes are just perfect; some days there are 2/3 of us and other times a group of 10/11. It gives a nice personal touch and sense of 1:1 training. I'm looking forward to continuing my personal fitness goals here at this gym.

It is more strenuous and demanding than what I'm doing in Michigan. As a result, I feel stronger. If I am unable to do an exercise, the trainers will modify it or have me do something else. All without shaming or calling attention to me. Raw offers RSB four days a week. My original plan was to do days, so we paid for eight lessons. I feel so good and energized that I want to go to every class until I leave for Michigan on March 1.

The coaches have no respect or integrity with their students or the sport. I have witnessed them downgrade kids belts before a competition (they did it to my son). When confronted, all they care about is WINNING, no matter the cost. They are more worried about themselves than with the actual members of the gym. They also lie about the age of the competitors. According to Article 5- Registration subsection 5.9 of the rules, in the IBJJF Rule Book, pertaining to the rules and regulations governing specific aspects of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Under this subsection "once and athletes graduation occurs, he cannot compete at his previous belt anymore." BASE Martial Arts does NOT follow these guidelines and forced my son to do this in TWO competitions. When confronted, their reply was "we run the show here". ALSO BEWARE: if you aren't legal in this country, DONT even think about leaving this gym, or the coaches will (and have) called immigration on you. We have seen this happen and it absurd how leaders of a gym can do these things. The gym itself is poorly maintained. The mats are dirty, and the place is run down. This school is all about winning, with no regards to the essence of the BJJ community. ASK AROUND ABOUT THIS GYM. BEWARE: When you leave this gym, they continue to run your Credit Card months and months after they tell you they canceled your account. The list goes on and on but to make a long story short, there are PLENTY of quality BJJ gyms in the area, why go to a place full of drama and egotistical coaches who only see dollar signs and gold medals??? Very disappointed parents and kids here, wish we could give them a ZERO stars but unfortunately 1 is the minimum. CUIDADO!! Minha experiência com a BASE Martial Arts. Eu os testemunhei rebaixando os cintos infantis antes de uma competição (eles fizeram isso com meu filho). Quando confrontados, tudo o que importava era VENCER, não importa o custo. Eles estão mais preocupados consigo mesmos do que com os membros reais da academia. Eles também mentem sobre a idade dos competidores. TAMBÉM CUIDADO: se você não é legal neste país, NEM pense em deixar esta academia, ou os treinadores vão (e ja vi chamar) a imigração para você. Vimos isso acontecer e é um absurdo como os líderes de uma academia podem fazer essas coisas. A academia em si é mal conservada. O tatame e o lugar estao sujos e degradado. Esta escola so pensa em vencer e ganhar dinheiro, sem levar em conta a essência da comunidade de Jiu-Jitsu. PERGUNTE SOBRE ESTA ACADEMIA. CUIDADO: Quando você sai desta academia, eles continuam a cobrar seu cartão de crédito meses e meses depois de dizerem que cancelaram sua conta. Rather than getting lunch or coffee, we chose to workout together. It's a great way to even out all the restaurants I want to try! She bought a class pass ($99 for 5 classes) here so I opted to buy one class ($10) to hangout with her. When driving here, you actually park at the Red Lobster right next to it. Once you park, you enter through a gate and The Office 954 is right there! The classes range from burning your accessory muscles (ouch) to boxing cardio to flow with yoga. We did the burn class which is by far the most painful class I have ever taken; a good burn that is. The instructor keeps you motivated and each class is limited to maybe 12 people (?) max as this studio is extremely small with just one room. This intimate workout is amazing for locals who really want that small class, personal trainer experience. I had the pleasure to workout with Jamie, the owner, as the instructor for our class. After our intense workout, she was extremely welcoming and told us a little more about her studio, how it came to be, and the things she has available within the studio. She told me she was going to start a collection of wellness books that clients can check out for $5 to borrow, read, and return. This gym is very different than many traditional gyms and gives that welcoming, personal trainer feeling. It's a breath of fresh air. If I lived closer and could afford this studio, I would definitely be back!

I wanted to actually learn how to box. That's what I like about Boxfit. Andrew and Michelle are great coaches. They actually teach you, correct you and help you improve, but they also make the classes fun. I can definitely tell that my boxing has gotten better since I started. It's also a great workout. I'm usually pretty wiped out by the end of class. Really good people, really good coaches and a great workout. I'm glad I found this place.
