Mona's is hands down the best! I brought in a few pair of pants I wanted hemmed so I could wear with either wing tips or cowboy boots. I wasn't sure if this was possible but he found a way! Then, two or three visits later he asked how the pants were working out. I was impressed that he remembered and followed up. I've been going to Mona's Custom Tailors for 20 years. Bob is the owner/chief tailor and a wizard with cloth. He's made difficult alterations, charges fair prices and always remembers my name. Mark not only was the only one around that said he could finish this task in the time crunch I put myself under but he also went out of his way to find the matching fabric to make it look completely flawless!! It was my first time using this tailor for alternations to some leather pants. I needed it repaired, like yesterday and it was the holidays. The gentleman who helped me explained my options. It was very reasonable and he said he could have them repaired by the next day. Of course, next day I was coming from downtown LA and traffic was terrible. It was 5:59 and they closed at 6pm, I made the call. I'm almost there, can you wait. He said he would and he did. When I picked up the pants, the job was pure perfection. I was very pleased with the work. I left a tip and told him I would give a good Yelp review. A little late but I remembered. I would refer this Tailor to all my friends and co-workers! Suprisingly i've heard about this place since 2012. A buddy of mine was raving about all his clothes that he had tailored at this shop. Fast forward to 2018 when i was looking for a place to purchase suits for me and my groomsmen. I went through the gambit of shops both cheaper and more expensive. One of my last stops was Monas, which was suggested to me by another friend and also my cousin , who had previously gotten suits through them. Going through fitment and feeling the fabrics i was happy with Monas. Mark was super friendly and knowledgable but most importantly i felt 0 pressure from him. Price was super affordable, to the point where i was able to purchase them for my groomsmen as a gift. Prompt and well fitted I recommend Monas for all my friends weddings, especially the ones that i have to be in, because in the end i get to keep another suit from Mark. I'm on my 3rd suit with them and will continue to be my go to spot! read more

This tailor shop is a great place to make your fancy clothes to fit the way you want. The owner really knows what he's doing. He can take one look at you in the clothes that you want tailored, and he already knows how to fix it. I love that his work is custom for everybody. He really knows how to bring out your best look. I have used this business a few times, mainly because it's very close to my home. Also, to be fair, they do excellent work. A recurrent problem with this business is that he never has your item ready when he says it will be, I mean, if you can't finish it till Friday then just TELL me that! Don't tell me Thursday and then make me wait while you hastily complete the hem job or whatever. I honestly don't know WHY they always lie about the pickup date. This came to a head recently when my daughter was going to be a bridesmaid. I offered to take her dress and her friend, a fellow bridesmaid's dresses in for alteration. They needed them a week from the day I brought them in - Saturday so i craftily told the nice Indian gentleman who owns the place that I needed them Wednesday. He assured me that was no problem. When I returned the following Wednesday, the dresses were exactly where the yhad been when I left - tossed across the desk. They had not even hung them up or moved them to the workroom. NEVER gone back since. read more

The guy said my top would be ready in two days. I went back and he could not find it. Finally did and it was not touched. So I asked when shall I come back he said in a few hours. I called and he said it was done. The work was very crappy. just a straight sew with no binding or lock. Charged me $8. No thanks. I could have done it better by hand for free. read more

I first tried Mona's tailoring after a guy at work said that his brothers who are big guys, go there all the time to get their suits worked on. Being a skinny guy myself, I wanted a tux for my wedding that fit me correctly. Bob got me a nice tux then preceeded to take it apart and remake it for my build. I can't see how this was an easy job, but when all was said and done, it cost little more than renting one and it looked amazing. Since then, my wife brings him her vintage dresses, and I have brought several more items myself. If we find things we like and they don't quite fit, its no big deal because we just bring them to Bob. read more

I got a suit from Friar Tux for a wedding and since this place is across the street they recommend them...I've been here before, but have never been impressed. I'm a glutton for punishment and think "well...it's just a hemming in the pants, why not" I dropped the pants off on tuesday. Asked them to be done on thursday, they said they would be done Friday. I said okay and came back Friday.... I gave the gentlemen my ticket and he looked at me like I had 3 heads. He goes to the rack behind the counter and starts fumbling around all the clothes hanging up. He asks me "when were they supposed be done?" I said "after, 5pm" (it was 5:49). he says "what color were they" I say "black pants" he says " well, we get a hundred black pants a week, can you come behind the counter and find them" I say "well then, I guess there's a one in a hundred chance I'll find them" I go fumbling around a pile of clothes, go thumbing through the rack, and am starting to get pissed. What is the point of having a claim ticket? He finds the pants in a mound of clothes and of course they weren't done. He asks "do you wanna wait for them to be done." uhhh....ya, that's what I paid for, right? He gives me some excuse about "prom season" but the damage is done. I get the pants and will never go back. I gave 2 stars only because the hem job was done right, but this place is so out dated and disorganized that it is amazing to me they are still in business.Who are these people with 5 star reviews!? read more

They did the most amazing job on my dress slacks. I thought they were done for! They were able to add pipeing to the pockets and reinforced the area so they will last so much longer! They are the masters of fabric! You would do yourself a disservice if you went anywhere else! read more

Enter the place on a whim. I had just gotten a haircut next door and was headed to another place to get pants hemmed and shirt and tie pressed. I had parked right in front of monas so I knew this must be a sign.. The inside of the store is filled with dark suits. Looks a bit cluttered. The older man was working a few customers. He seemed to be the main man. There was also a younger man there, might have been his son. Anyway, they both had dress clothes on. I observed how their clothes were done up. Older man had terrible looking suit on. His pants were ragged on bottom. Other guy had a strangely baggy dress pants on. Neither looked good. Bad sign for a tailoring shop. Still I waited my turn and had them hem my pants and press a shirt and tie. When the clothes got back to me, the pants were hemmed, looked terrible until I pressed them, which I thought they should have done, however, I did not specify. My shirt and tie were definitely not pressed. They were in the same state that I had dropped them off. Maybe they are good at hemming, but they definitely don't press or keep there end of bargain. Next time I go to place where they would do everything on site. read more

HORRIBLE suit tailoring! I was referred by two friends so I took a new suit there needed for a job interview. One leg was 1/2 shorter than the other. The pants were poofy in the front and awful. I tried it on there and almost cried. I didn't want them to "fix" it because they could potentially ruin it. I almost threw it in the trash out of frustration. Luckily I found Snow White tailors in Artesia. Oak is awesome. She pinned the entire suit to fit my figure. Don't go to Mona's for suit tailoring, they are awful! read more

Wouldn't recommended this place at all ! They had my stuff for a few months ! Every time I called to check on it they told me it'll be ready next week and we'll call and just excuses every time ! They never called finally after 5 Months I ended up picking it up half way done ! I have to take it to someone else now and get it done ! Very disappointed with the service ! The worst place I have ever been to ! I don't know why they keep making excuses if they can't get it done ! Do not go there unless you want your stuff to sit there for months and months and it's not even finished when you get it back ! read more
