Unfortunately, Paul failed to recall our conversation and showed me only one dress that exceeded my budget by $2,000. When I requested 24 hours to consider the purchase, Paul pressured me by stating that the discount was only available 'in the moment' and that the price would increase if I left the store. This high-pressure sales tactic was off-putting, and I lost all interest in making a purchase. Paul was able to help my sister get the bridesmaid dresses ordered and in really fast. We received the dresses on Thursday, and they were closed for the holiday (New Year) Even though they were closed, Paul responded to my sister (bride) and he told her not to worry because it could be fixed. My dress was a bit tight when I got it, and he stayed after hours for me so that he could see it on. He referred me to someone that could fix it, and it turns out that it was an easier fix than I expected. I was really stressed out, but Paul was so kind and encouraging, which made me feel a lot better. He is super nice and funny. He is very easy to work with as well. We went to Paul for my daughters engagement dress. I recently had a very disappointing experience with Mona Lisa regarding my daughter's engagement dress. We paid $1400 for the dress, but it had been remade for at least three other brides. When we asked him if he had sold it to anyone else, he said he doesn't remake and resell the same dress. No bride on her special day wants another bride or the mother of the bride to wear it before her or after her. When we confronted the owner Paul, he laughed about it and said this is a business, didn't take our feelings into consideration. This is completely unacceptable, especially for such an important occasion. I would not recommend their services to anyone unless you don't care that on your special day somebody else will wear the exact same dress before you. I understand it's a business and it happens but not for a BRIDE we got the dress custom made for a reason so nobody wears it. I will not go back to Paul Mona Lisa in Sterling Heights for any occasion!!! read more

So, I still did not receive my beads to fix my dress and my daughters wedding is around the corner and still no reply from Paul at Mon Lisa So just a warning do not give this man your business because he is just a scammer. Scammer is what he is He will not reach back out I order a custom made dress from Paul and I paid a lot of money for one dress for me to wear for my daughters wedding, paid in full and then he made me pay the shipping on top of that and then I received the dress and the dress was made with the worst quality ever especially for what I paid for it, it was horrible all the beading and crystals were fall off I mean like most of them and then the dress was big even though I gave him my measurements, to me custom means the dress will be made to your measurements and that's the reason I went with Paul. He is definitely a good bullshitter for sure so when I called him he tried to tell me that custom doesn't work that way, I was like no I think it's only you and then he did not do anything about it and then said he would send me a bag of crystals so I can have the dress fixed and now it's one month past and lam still waiting for the beads in the mail read more

Amanda left a review and it's 100% correct. For a different wedding party, we experienced the exact same thing. Cheaper version, China lookalikes and the lace and coloring was all wrong. The owners are so rude and didn't even care or try to fix the issue. While I was in there getting my dress for the party, he saw a group of American girls coming in and ACTUALLY said "Oh no, I hope they don't come in here. They're the worst." As they walked in, they stated they were there to PICK UP bridesmaid dresses. Shocking that he's able to make money off of ladies that he claims are "the worst". Stay away! Owners son is very rude and a scammer. He pretends they're super busy with appointments to make it seem like they are so exclusive with amazing dresses. There's a reason why they're always empty while Vere Moda across the street is always busy. After looking at 5 dresses Paul claimed we weren't serious buyers and only wanted to waste his time. I guess you're supposed to buy the first one he shows you. He threw a temper tantrum in front of his mom who looked humiliated at his behavior. We drove 5 hours from Chicago with cash in hand just to dress shop. I don't think buyers get more serious than that. His loss, Vere Moda and Mina Boutique got our money and the owners are amazing. I've never seen or experienced a more disrespectful owner ever. He wouldn't let the family come in to see the wedding gown when I tried it on. A lot of pieces on my wedding day like the ribbon that tightens the corset wasn't with the dress as well as the zipper the attaches the skirt to the dress was not there and when I confronted him about it he acted surprised and I had to fix it last minute. I as well bought brides maid dresses from him and they came 2 weeks before the wedding day and the girls didn't have much time to alter the dresses and it did not look like the picture I had shown him as well as the sizes were x6 bigger then they should be. Every time I confronted him he would say it was my fault and would put the blame on me when it's clearly all his fault. His attitude and his ego weren't appropriate, he would say he is the best in Michigan and would recommend only himself. Paul claims that he is the best boutique in Michigan. I was the maid of honor of a bride that is in Chicago and me and her went to him for bridesmaid dresses and we showed him how we want them and he said we would have them in April and the wedding was in July but we didn't receive them until 2weeks before the wedding and they were not like the picture we showed him the sizes were x6 times bigger and the color was not the same. First off, I wish I could leave negative stars. This place is an absolute scam. I ordered bridesmaids dresses and the color was so far off and Paul (the owner) tried telling me that's the color I had ordered. I wanted the dresses to be champagne and received WHITE. He is super unprofessional and was not willing to compromise. As a business owner he should accommodate for an unhappy customer especially when he's at fault, but tried to make it seem like it was my fault! He also charged me double for having a custom size dress, which was still too small! He purposely makes you pay all cash upfront.... what a scam artist. This was by far the worst shopping experience I have ever encountered. The owner and her son Paul are extremely rude. My mother and I went in there looking for a dress for my brother's wedding. They acted as if we were animals that were going to destroy their dresses. The son took my mother into a back stock room and would not let me go in with her to help her find a dress. Then when my mother went into the fitting room to try on a few dresses they tried telling me that I couldn't go in there to help her get the dresses on. Meanwhile his mother kept opening up the curtain and trying to walk in on my mother while she was undressed because she was so afraid that I was going to try to zip up the dresses. I had to yell at both of them to tell them that we were not zipping up the dresses and that she didn't even like how they looked so she was taking them off immediately. Then the son started making comments that he doesn't think she should try anything else on because he doesn't think anything is for her. So I told my mother to get dressed so we could leave, because when you are looking to spend at least $1000 on a dress, you should be treated with a lot more respect than what we experienced with this mother and son. Neither one of them should be working in any type of customer service setting when they clearly do not know how to treat people. I ordered over 10 bridesmaid dresses from this place and it looked like they came from China. Poor quality and the labor put into the dress was sooooooo cheap. We paid over $350 for each one. When we went for fittings they made us try on another dress saying that it would be the same material, which it wasn't. All the sizes were not true to what they said at all. Dress was super small when it came in, the rhinestones were all glued on, the lace was cut with scissors and so sloppy. THE COLOR WAS NOT WHAT WE ASKED FOR. I was a bridesmaid about three years ago and we got our dresses from Mona Lisa. We had the exact same scenario as many previous reviewers happen to us when dealing with Paul. I'm reviewing now because it makes me sad to see so many other people are affected, and I am sorry I didn't do this sooner. We ordered our "custom made" bridesmaid dresses. He "measured" us and the dresses we ordered were supposed to come with high quality lace, in a dusty steel blue color. The dresses came in, and they were mermaid blue, and cheap looking! COMPLETELY different from what we ordered, even though he assured us multiple times we would get the dusty blue in chenille lace. Then, he tried to tell the MOH that that was the color she asked for. Eventually, he finally admitted he could not get the blue we asked for, so the bride settled on champagne instead. My dress came in, and it was HUGE. I wish I was exaggerating but it was at least three sizes too big. He also took money from the bride's mom for my dress before I saw it and gave her my dress (I was supposed to pay and pick it up myself) so I couldn't do anything about it. When I tried going in to talk to him, he started saying inappropriate things about me in Chaldean to MY DAD who was with me. My dad is the most patient person and lost his cool. We ended up leaving with nothing resolved. His only offer was to alter it for me for free...as if I would trust him with it after that. I always tell people this story when they are looking for dresses and advise them to never go there.
