If you've never been to H Mart, make sure you have plenty of time because there's so much to see!…read moreI've visited this location before, and I actually prefer it over the one on Cheltenham Avenue.
One thing I love is how fresh everything looks, especially the meat and seafood. They have a huge seafood department in the back with live crabs, a beautiful selection of fresh fish, and they'll even clean your fish for you!
The noodle selection is enormous, and don't even get me started on the SPAM! They have so many different varieties, including spicy Korean flavors and jalapeño. I even spotted a Hello Kitty SPAM can!! Now, we know SPAM isn't the healthiest choice, but they sure make it tempting.
Today, I stopped in mainly for my Asian snacks and coffee. One of my absolute favorites is the sesame and coconut crackers. They're thin, lightly sweet, a little salty, and perfect with coffee or just as a snack. I absolutely love them!
They also have a great selection of 50% off some prepared foods, including japchae, sushi, and other dishes. I picked up the three color seasoned greens made with wild aster, bellflower root, and other vegetables seasoned with garlic, salt, and sesame oil. It was $3.50 and soooo worth it. I also picked up some spicy beef bulgogi. Whew! It was spicy!!! I enjoyed it though. I made some rice to go with everything, and it was absolutely delicious! The flavors were so good.
They have a large tofu and kimchi area!!!
Another thing I appreciate is the home section in the back of the store. They have all kinds of pots, pans, griddles, and cooking accessories. There's even a small food market outside the main grocery area, but keep in mind that once you pass the registers, you can't go back into the grocery store without entering again.
The store gets very busy, but there's plenty of parking, and I noticed all the registers were open, which definitely helps. Some items are a little pricey, while others are reasonably priced, so it's a good mix.
Overall, I really enjoy shopping here. It's clean, well-stocked, and full of interesting foods and products you might not find in your everyday grocery store. My advice? Don't rush! Give yourself time to walk through every aisle, read the labels, discover something new, and enjoy the experience. Some products don't have much English on the packaging, so exploring is part of
