Don't let the outside fool you, this place is amazing hidden gem in Rowlett... The inside is decorated well and very clean. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and provided great explanations of the items we were interested in. Started with the butter naan which was fresh and favorable. This was our first time here and our second time having Nepali food. Chai: I usually only drink Chai at home, so having it prepared properly just blew me away. They bring it with a little teapot and some sugar. Chili Chicken Momo: We've never had momo before, so we asked the server what he recommended, which was this one. We got it in medium spice which ended up being perfect, it erred close to an authentic Thai mild. The momo's flavor was fairly balanced, chili wasn't overpowering and had some suble sweetness. They were so soft and juicy despite being fried. Not too saucy either. The bell peppers, tomatoes, and onions on the side werent ignored; its not normal for us to finish side vegtables! When we come back, we plan to order two. The Curries: The chicken (mild) and butter chicken (medium) curries were both good, but the butter chicken really suited our tastes. Genuinely the best butter chicken we've ever had. I was spooning it like it was soup. Both curries' chicken were perfectly cooked, very moist. Appreciated the chicken to curry ratio as well. For the spice level, medium ended up being perfect again. Mild is best for those who don't like spicy food. The chicken curry was still good, the seasoning reminded me of my mother's vietnamese cooking. Garlic Naan: The garlic flavoring is subtle, which was a departure from what we're used to from the Indian restaurants we've been to (ex. So much garlic and butter that the nann can be eaten alone as an appetizer). The subtlety is preferred for us since it doesn't overtake the flavors of the curry. The bread was soft and came in four pieces. We came at a slow time, but the environment wasn't awkward and we had fun playing the little games provided. The server was very welcoming. read more

Amazing food and really good atmosphere, I do wish their service was faster and they had more servers around to help.definitely family friendly and I whole heartedly recommend and support. My first time to come here and I am so thrown off that a tip was automatically added to my pick up order that I won't be back. $8.60 is too much for a pick up order. I signed my name and hit done and then saw it had been automatically selected. I said to the girl checking me out "oh wow it just automatically added a tip?" And she smiled and said "yes." Got a to go order. Not as good as the first time dining in. Chicken was 2 smaller pieces and one was burnt. No rice included and a much smaller quantity of naan than when dining in. Appetizer of chili potatoes was soggy french fries? I don't know if this is normal to use frozen fries instead of real potatoes. Soggy and nasty. This review is for a takeout order while visiting in town nearby. Very easy to order online or over the phone with staff. Picking up only took 2 min or less. I figured getting a momo was necessary since that's the name of the joint. I think they were so flavorful and delicious! The paneer and chicken were the best. Some other amazing dishes I highly recommend are the butter chicken, chicken buryani, and paneer masala! We did medium heat and it has a good kick, but not too overpowering the flavors were just right. Don't forget some garlic naan to dip into your sauce! I'd go here often if I lived in town! read more

Opened this past year with great reviews, a cold rainy night brought me to MOMO for my first visit. Medium-sized, but clean & cozy facility, with their own small parking lot. Nice dining room, and small full-service bar. Staff of 3 on a Monday, pleasant and helpful people I was looking for chole curry, with the chick peas, I chose 3rd highest spice level of 4. This was a takeout order, with steamed rice, in clear plastic, sturdy bowls that did not leak one bit! This was savory, cooked to an easy bite, not really spicy at all. Heading back for whatever day in a row it is. I'll try and do better on my checkins heh. Took a batch to the boys at cards last night. None have had Indian before, and it was devoured. I gave them all directions. Not sure when I'll get burned out but it'll be awhile. I've been craving Indian worth getting, and voila here they are. The atmosphere is pleasant enough and food is decent but nothing to write home about. I generally have a high opinion of Indian cuisine and find the dishes bursting with flavor, so I was underwhelmed by how middle of the road their food was for a place that tries to look classy (also, all the dishes came out cold). Don't have much to say about the service because they mainly just try to stay out of the way, so if that's your thing, go for it. Good Indian flavors have been very difficult to come by in the Rowlett area but I'm happy to announce that we finally have a place to order from with decently fair portion sizes. Our order included chicken and lamb biriyanis, chicken tikka masala, butter chicken Momo, garlic naan, gulab jamun, and gulab sundae. The butter chicken Momo was a very nice appetizer to the meal. Very good infused butter chicken flavors packed into a bite size dumpling. All the entrees were ordered with medium spice level and I'm happy that they nailed the flavors. Very classic taste and not greasy or under seasoned. The included raita with the biriyani added the cooling element needed for the spicy dish. The lamb is very gamy and chewy so I would order the chicken instead next time. The chicken tikka masala was perfectly balanced with spicy and creamy flavors and the chicken was cooked absolutely perfectly. Pair it with the garlic naan and you have a wonderful comforting dish. The gulab jamun by itself tastes perfectly authentic. The sundae was also good however I felt that there was too much going to but it's still delicious. My only real problem was ordering this as a takeout meal. The main reason being the plastic containers they were placed in became warped during packaging because of the heat causing half of the sauce from the chicken tikka masala to spill out. I felt like I lost $7 worth of food due to the packaging. If they can individually package the hot meals to prevent spillage from heat melting, the customer would greatly appreciate it. I'm excited to try this place again in the future and explore the other various options. read more

This used to be a good spot to ubereats from while in town with clients now the price increases are too much. $19.79 for tikka that was previously $16. Side of rice for $5.49. Out of control. No excuse for this beyond trying to rip off customers. Shame to lose customers like this. Plenty of other options in the area that deliver that are more fairly priced. read more

Wow, this place is great. I ordered delivery from here this evening and not only was it fast but the food was plentiful! I ordered the chicken biriyani, paneer sticks and garlic naan. All were fantastic and the mild wasn't too spicy so I could share with my toddler. Definitely can't wait to try more here. read more

OMG! We can't understand why we never stopped here before! This is now our go to place for Indian/Nepalese food! Service is friendly and decor contributes to an upscale restaurant. Samosas were flaky on the outside and moist and flavorful on the inside. Chicken chili momo was delicious and the chicken curry was amazing! The garlic naan was so light and airy. Like nothing we had before. The beer from Nepal topped off the meal. If you want something with incredible flavors from Nepal, this place is a must! read more

An instant "YES" from my three children is always Indian food, but Momo & Curry hit it out of the park with their food. We loved the chicken Tika, garlic naan and lamb curry. This was our first time at Momo & Curry since the current owner took the space over. We enjoyed the authenticity of the food and the atmosphere. The service was very attentive. It was a really hard decision to decide what to order because everything sounded good. We went with some standard stuff to test the flavors. I was amazed at the complexity and balance of the flavors. We've now ordered from this place 4 or 5 times. We've tried most things and most things aren't great. However, the butter momos, the butter chicken, the garlic naan, and especially the honey glazed wings are good. BUT..they are very inconsistent. Spice level is always different, so it's difficult to know how to order it. And the last time we had it the butter chicken and momos (yesterday) it had a much for pronounced tomato flavor. It wasn't as good as usual. That's a bummer. Also, the people who work there are so standoffish, borderline rude. read more

So I've been to this establishment three times, the first time I said down and enjoyed my meal absolutely wonderful tried this mango juice that is to die for but don't really die!! The other two times that I've been here is to get my to-go orders and I absolutely do enjoy the butter chicken spice level 4 and spice level 3!! With a mango juice to go with it!
