Momma's Grocery is a small specialty market tucked inside the Charles River Speedway, offering a thoughtfully curated selection of groceries alongside seasonal treats in a relaxed, neighborhood setting. The shop has a welcoming storefront that's easy to pop into whether you're picking up a few items or stopping by for a quick snack. One of the biggest draws is the shared courtyard just outside, which offers plenty of comfortable outdoor seating and creates a great place to unwind after ordering.
The maple soft serve was the highlight of my visit. While the $6 serving felt a bit on the smaller side, the quality more than made up for it. The maple flavor was rich and authentic, capturing the deep sweetness of real maple without tasting artificial or overly sugary. The soft serve itself was exceptionally smooth and creamy, making it a refreshing treat on a warm day and one of the more unique ice cream flavors I've had recently.
The overall experience fits the atmosphere of the Speedway perfectly. The staff were friendly, service was quick, and the outdoor courtyard made it easy to slow down and enjoy the treat instead of rushing out the door. Although I would have liked a slightly larger portion for the price, the quality of the soft serve and the inviting outdoor space made it an enjoyable stop.
Momma's Grocery is a great neighborhood spot whether you're browsing for specialty products or simply looking for a unique dessert. The maple soft serve alone is worth trying, and the relaxed courtyard setting makes it an easy place to spend a few minutes enjoying a treat before continuing on with the rest of your day. read more
