We are in the throes of finalizing a major kitchen remodel. It's been so much work up to now and…read morethe project won't even be started until the end of summer. So of all the shopping around, appointment after appointment with kitchen designers and flooring contractors, we finally came to a decision and chose a company to work with. They have been pretty great so far but I think I will just wait until the project is completed to actually review them. However, part of the process of designing a kitchen is choosing a countertop. Fun right??? For me not so much. Prior to visiting Classic Rock we were only seeing chunks of granite and quartz samples. Hardly enough to decide if they would look good or not, variation ECT. We knew we had to get to CR (classic rock) to really see the slabs. It wasn't super convenient to make an appointment. I think we had to schedule it out almost a month in advance since they have bankers hours through the week and very limited hours by appointment on weekends, and note they are not open to the public. You must be working with one of their dealers to visit their showroom. I'll throw in it is almost an hour drive so again not the most convenient. However, this is the company that works with our designers and installers so we were pigeon holed on where we could actually look at. Overall I assume we could have went rogue and found our own countertop source, but there is something to be said about keeping as much of the project as you can within the same people's hands. When we got there we were met with one of their friendly workers Lauryn. She started by taking us through the showroom housing all the slabs of granite. Up to this point I was having a hard time selecting something that I liked. All of my reactions were either I hated it or I don't hate it, meaning it's ok. We strolled through a few rows until I uttered out a gasp and exclaimed "you were hiding it"! A few more driveling comments later I said "I think we found the one." She continued to show us more slabs and we walked the length of the showroom from entry priced granite all the way to the high end I need a second mortgage on my house granite, but none quite spoke to me as the one that made me gasp. Overall they were very helpful and patient working with us as we viewed their vast selections. I only hope the templet and install process goes as smoothly. I'll be sure to update if it isn't. Fingers Crossed!

Nice slabs, but terrible service. They did not contact us before installation to ask how we wanted…read moreit, cut it incorrectly around the sink so that it has a "positive reveal" we didn't ask for and which will gather dirt. Getting it replaced has been a nightmare though. The replacement slab was a different thickness from the original so wouldn't fit under our cabinet. We arranged for our carpenter to come and cut the cabinet, but they brought the old piece instead of the new one. During all the installing and removing of the countertops, they put some deep scratches on our brand new kitchen cabinets. They are now saying it's going to take them another 10 days to come back with the right countertop. Incredibly disappointing,

We were very pleased with our experience with Steel City Granite.. their prices are the best…read morearound... we picked out our granite on site, chose which sink(s) we wanted.. given the fine details how this all worked & signed the contract.....you pay HALF when you order... and the balance when installed. Someone will call -for a guy to come measure your counter layout... you will then get a date for installation shortly after this.. Steel City does not charge for faucet holes -(where others do, approx $15 each)...they drill these on site, so as long as you have your faucets when they come to install, you're good! Our counter was on the small side (old Country Farmhouse here) so we picked from remnants when we came... we LOVE our new sparkly counter top !! The installers were professional and helpful, they did a great job ... sealed with "ROCK DOCTOR" granite sealer before they left.... Would recommend !

I just had granite installed in my kitchen and two bathrooms. Besides it looking incredible, the…read moretime the men took to make it look exceptional was more than I could have asked for. Because I live in a townhouse, it was going to be an issue due to the large piece of granite that had to be carried up two flights of steps and around corners. The men made a plan and put rugs everywhere to make sure there was no damage bringing the large piece in. Success! There was also a seam that Jeremiah made perfect. I'm not exaggerating when I say you almost can't feel it. I highly recommend Youngstown Granite. Jackie was very helpful in helping me select granite and the installers I had were courteous, knowledgeable and careful.
