The women who work at the store are wonderful and helpful. The inventory is amazing and the prices are right.

As others have said, they ARE truly, "the pickiest shop!!" I chose them because they're local to me & run like a cute boutique. Unlike another non-profit shop I consign with, MR is merchandised & marketed on social media. For those reasons, I felt my items had a good chance of selling. Their biggest downside...I've been frustrated for too long bringing my things there, having good items denied. I've brought brand new or worn twice, stylish items that got denied. It's almost become a joke when I go in. They've tried to point out a "DOT", their favorite word. 'You see that little dot there" "Sorry it's really cute but due to the quality, we're going to have to pass"....you can NEVER see their infamous "dots!!" Once they discussed a tiny "area" on a print top I brought in, between them, back & forth for 15 min...it was clearly part of the print design, this tiny, faint, tan part of the floral design they "jussssst weren't sure wasn't a "spot"...it clearly wasn't! Denied! Meanwhile, I see worn, faded tops on their racks, not nearly in as good condition or stylish as my items. I've brought in name brands they always sell there, in perfect condition, albeit used, that they deny. Molly Rose...you DO know you ARE a USED clothing store, right? Twice I've seen tops I'd also owned at one time, that they charged more for than I bought it for brand new! I will say, my one better experience was with the owner herself, who was much more customer friendly and while selective, better at choosing items. For the heck of it, that day I had brought in a necklace that had previously been denied, for seemingly no good reason, as they had others like it...the owner liked it and took it immediately! Unfortunately, she's been there choosing items only once in my 3 years consigning. I've also bought items in the past there, so I've been a customer too....but I'm done wasting my time consigning with them. read more

The selection is not great, yet they are so picky about anything u drop off. I always bring items practically brand new and designer. (Better than anything they have hanging in there.). There is no system. They don't give u a receipt for what u drop off. I went in expecting to get a check for two beautiful pair of boots, two designer handbags and a jacket, dropped off Dec last year. They told me none of them sold. There is no way. I will never step foot in there again read more

I've been to numerous consignment stores and this is by far the best! It's set-up like a boutique with seasonal items rotating out on a regular basis to keep all stock fresh and current. The staff goes over every consigned item to make sure it's without flaws and perfectly spotless. Brittany, the owner, is honest, kind and helpful. Joyce, Debra and Kori are more than willing to help you pick-out the perfect outfit. My only suggestion is if you like it....buy it because it won't be there when you return! I drove and hour to come to this store based on the 4+ star rating. When I walked into the store, the people working there were uninterested in my presence with no greeting, no can I help you. It had a very cold uninviting feeling. When I asked for my purchase, the person did not look up and gave me the feeling I was interrupting her day. It'll be a cold dark day before I ever go back to this store. What a waste of gas. read more

Named for the owner's Saint Bernard (who's a cutie), Molly Rose Consignments in Madison is off the beaten path. Head up Route 79 to a little strip of stores next to Klein's Golf Driving Range. The shop is neatly organized and chock full of jeans (American Eagle, Not Your Daughter's) basics, designer handbags (Michael Kors and Coach) home décor items and once again, Lily. In fact, a strapless, silk jersey Lily dress was priced originally at $59, then knocked down to $47.20 after a couple of weeks, and finally $35.40. Amongst the more common brands of shoes was a pair of cream, low-heeled Bruno Magli pumps for $45 and on the clearance rack, a darling black Sgt. Pepper jacket from J. Crew for $6. In housewares, I found a couple dozen black fuzzy hangers, identical to the ones I already have in my closet, for less than 15 bucks. And I saved myself a trip to the overstimulating Bed, Bath and Beyond. read more

My mom, who lives in Guilford, told me this place! Since it is not far from my parents' home and we were at the Madison Flower Shop across the street, we decided to bop in. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by the young lady who is the owner. I think her name was Brittany. The store was clean and the clothing/shoes were organized by size. There was top-notch, updated merchandise. I saw a gorgeous Dooney & Bourke leather satchel in British Tan. Prices were good, but on each tag, it listed the date when something was going to get marked down; i.e. a skirt priced $15 until 4/28/14; $12 after 4/29/14; $9 after 5/29/14. My mom bought a $15 linen sundress and I got a yellow and black toile skit for $9.80. Prices sure beat Wal-Mart and they sell really nice furniture! Go in and see it for yourself! read more

A very nice consignment shop with a great selection of clothes you really want to wear. Nice home goods and gift selection, too. It's a great place to hit for updating your seasonal wardrobe, buying a special occasion dress at a much lower price than retail, or for finding unique gifts! Molly Rose is the best! Hard to believe these items are second hand. This place comes off as more of a boutique than a consignment shop. Everything looks new! I've brought a handful of items there to consign. Great way to make some extra cash! I'm always shopping there too. I would say the pricing is a little sporadic. Some items are priced low you can't believe the bargain. Then there are other items that seemed to be priced too high. After a certain amount of days in the store items are discounted. You can always wait for them to discount, but you take the risk of them being sold! Owner is super friendly and sweet! Wish I discovered this place sooner! ***update*** A little disappointed. Consigned some items and went to pick up the ones that didn't sell. As I was leaving the store I saw 2 scarfs right next to each other that we're definitely mine...still for sale. I thought maybe she put them out at a later date than my other stuff. Called a few days later to see if I had anymore items/money to pick up and I was told no. Doesn't really matter since I need to get rid of the stuff anyway. Just disappointing. Not sure how organized her tracking system is. read more

Wonderful and charming upscale consignment shop in Madison. All the items are clean, organized, and priced to sell. Each time you enter it's like stepping into a new store with great new finds. The owner and her staff are always cheerful and helpful, the hours are very accommodating, the store is always very clean and organized, and they always have a fun and varied selection of high quality clothing, accessories and home decor items that are reasonably priced. I'm updating my 2014 review to state that I will no longer be consigning my items here. This place went downhill fast. The policies I raved about quickly became overly restrictive. In addition they were not even adhered to in a professional manner. An example would be that the store began only taking items for consignment on certain days of the week. Fine. But one would expect that the "decider" of which of a consignor's items will be accepted would actually be in the store that day to decide or at least would designate an agent employee to do so. Nope! I dropped off a bunch of items on the designated day which were carefully picked through and examined by the employee present. Some items were accepted, some not. Ok. Then I got a call from the owner (I assume) days later to say that oh, actually, just kidding, come back and pick up half your items. I'm sorry, what? It was hard enough to get there on the special day in the first place. I could have had my items rejected on any day of the week rather than go back there again because of her buyer's remorse. She told me the items had stains/were damaged. They were brand new and pristine! And there were several of them. I understand maybe someone missing one stain (if, hypothetically, there was one) but rejecting 3 brand new scarves for "stains" is hard to believe. If you don't trust your employees to run the business in your absence then you have to be there yourself. YOU CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS, LADY. I've also had a like-new flannel blazer rejected for "wear" because of "pilling". I know flannel pilling and it wasn't this. This was exactly as purchased, new, from Banana Republic. This place bills itself as some sort of fashionista paradise, but there is either a lack of basic knowledge about fabric, wear, and styles OR a disingenuousness regarding reasons for rejecting items. if they don't want to take something because they don't like the STYLE, it would be better business to say exactly that, or better yet, not give a reason at all. read more

Molly Rose is an awesome consignment store, not many have both clothing and household items. The items are in pristine shape, which is good that Brittany is picky about the items she chooses. I find unique items at a great price. Brittany and her mom are wonderful, they remember me by name and just make the shopping experience that much nicer. I highly recommend this Molly Rose. read more
