My time at Moler was truly the best, and that's because of my teacher, Priti. She is incredibly knowledgeable and takes her time making sure each and every student fully understands the material. If we didn't grasp something the first time, she would patiently go back and explain it again before moving forward. She never left anyone behind. Beyond her expertise, her kindness and compassion made such a difference. She created a safe, supportive environment where we all felt at home. In the esthetics program, she made us feel like family -- not just students. I graduated in April 2024, and to this day she is still my mentor. She has guided me through my business venture and continues to support me as I grow in this industry. Having her as a teacher, friend, and mentor has truly been a blessing. Any future esthetics students would be incredibly lucky to study under her. She is the kind of educator who truly cares about her students' success -- both inside and outside the classroom. I'm forever grateful for her guidance, encouragement, and the confidence she helped build in me. read more

Priti was my esthetics instructor at Moler Barber, Cosmetology and Esthetics School in San Pablo, and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better teacher! She's incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and truly passionate about helping her students succeed. Priti always took the time to explain everything in detail, share real-world experience, and make sure we understood not just how to do something, but why it matters. Her positive energy and encouragement gave me so much confidence during school, and thanks to her guidance, I'm now a proud business owner doing what I love every day. If you're lucky enough to have Priti as your instructor -- learn everything you can from her! She's the best. read more

Writing this review as a student of the college. I personally had a miserable experience at this college. It was extremely expensive to go to. I didn't learn anything except taking chapter exams from their online portal which I could've done at my own home. Teacher was absent half of the class sessions I was a student there. Their admissions office lies about programs that they have at the school when they don't even have the programs currently happening at the college. I'll add more later. It makes me too upset to even keep writing about this now. If you are a student. I would highly suggest not wasting your time or money at this daycare. I dropped out after 3 weeks of attending the school because I hated it so much. I lost $2500 from though whole experience and literally have nothing to show for it except for a stupid Chromebook and a textbook. read more

The price is right! Students are supervised by experienced instructors. Walk-ins accepted.

As a student don't go here they got nothing to offer waste of time and money. The only good teacher is Ms.j and Ms.Jordan. Other then that don't come here point blank as a student. This place is a mess!!! The worst is Mr T messing up our classes and won't talk to us and fix the issue at the schools. And he also disrespect to our teachers &class mates read more

Marcus does a great job cutting my mom's hair. He's very patient, as well as professional. I recommend this particular establishment to all ages. Very nice group of young men and young ladies displaying their talents to our community. read more

My son had a haircut/shave, facial, and shampoo/conditioner. I wanted him to pamper himself. This is a great place to have students practice on you. My son enjoyed the treatment and wants to go on a regular basis for his cuts. He was there for about an hour to an hour and 15 mins. I only paid $23!!! Best deal around! read more

I've been to Moler Barber College twice, and each time has been a vastly different experience... BUT I still think it deserves 4 stars. The reason I stumbled upon this establishment is because I found a coupon in the mail for a free haircut. I thought it would be a great place to get my kids their haircuts because I was tired of shelling out $20 +tip for a mediocre haircut at the kid's salon. I took my 4 year old in here first, and a dude with an English accent (who has since graduated and moved on to bigger and better things) cut his hair. He did a great job, and spent half an hour cutting my kid's hair... I mean, this guy was precise! And, with the coupon it was free, so that right there is 5 star worthy. I brought my 1 year old here (almost 2) for a haircut, and man...let's just say he's had to wear a hat for awhile now. I asked for the sides to be buzzed pretty short, but to keep it a little long on top... pretty simple. I don't know if the guy freaked out a little because my kid started crying the moment he sat in the chair, or maybe he didn't hear me, but the first thing he did was buzz the top of my kid's head! On the outside, I tried to stay calm... but on the inside I was thinking "omg.omg, omg!" I understand it can be nerve-wracking to have a little kid crying while you're trying to cut their hair, so I can't complain too much...especially since the haircut was free and THANK GOD it wasn't my hair or I would have been freaking out. His hair will grow back, and despite this experience I would still take my kids back again. Check them out, it's a big room full of students and barber shop style chairs. Even without the coupon haircuts are $7. read more

I go to Moler Barber College regularly to get my haircut. I do remember one time when the barber was cutting my hair, he said,``Man after this haircut, the girls are going to be getting your number.'' Then another time, the black woman behind the desk said,``Wow he is going to be a new man.'' The barbers here are good. I also got a haircut from 3 female barbers. In March, a white woman kept saying,``Okay lean your head over, thank you.'' She was friendly. read more

Thanks so much to Henry, a student barber at Moler. He immediately understood what I wanted, offered a few option (some of which I accepted) and really took charge if my haircut. He was meticulous, taking great care of all the little details that add up to a great job. He even took care of my unkempt besrd and trimmed my moustache to a fare-thee-well. He's looking forward to joining an established barber shop when he's through with school. Henry's future is bright. If he's indicative of the caliber of students at Moler, I can strongly recommend it to you. read more

Y'all, this place is the WORST. They are students, which excuses them, but they CANNOT cut hair for shit. I do not recommend going here. If you ask them for a couple of inches, they'll cut the whole thing. You ask them for a fade, they go up all the way. THEY SUCK !! read more

Hands down the best shop in San Pablo. Quick, and affordable. The guys will work with you on picking out a haircut for your hair type. They're young barbers with dreams of opening their own shops so they're in the business of caring about their reputation and regulars. Never had a sloppy cut here. Super positive environment. Jon the instructor, walks around and gives the guys advice and positive encouragement. Good learning environment. Barbers I'd recommend are: Manny and Abraham: super knowledgeable, talented, and meticulous. read more

I took my son there for a haircut and the barber try to charge me 20 dollar for a line up and fade. The sign at the door say 8 dollar for a haircut and the only response I got was that they set their own price. The barber said that their college is expensive and they need the extra cash. The haircut was OK and I wasn't impress with the service. I paid the 20 dollar and left the shop disappointed. They should have put the 8 dollar sign down and say student will set their own price. read more

This is kind of a joint review from me and my dad who isn't very yelp savvy... If it were mine alone, I would give it five stars. I am a girl. I have short hair. I always went to the asian lady hair salons and they always gave me a hard time about how short I wanted my hair- they were always hesitant, asking me over and over again if I was sure, and they always looked mortified at the end- one even said "it will grow back"! Ummm, this is how short I wanted it! I have always felt anxious about going to a barber- when I came in with my husband (who has a completely shaved head) I asked for a haircut and the instructor asked "for who? for him? or for you?" I said for me. One of the graduates, Napoleon, offered to take me. I am glad he did. He took very good care of my hair and asked me questions about how I wanted it. He wasn't judgmental about my being a girl and wanting the style that I wanted. I had a very good experience there. My dad, however, would probably give it 3 stars, thus the 4 star rating. He liked the fact that it was inexpensive, but he wasn't very happy with his cut. He thought it was too short. I guess it is hit or miss. You can ask the instructor if there is anyone there who's already graduated and waiting to take the boards or anyone who is close to graduating. If you are really particular about your hair, then don't come here. These are students. BE FORGIVING. I'm sure at one point in your lives you were once just starting out and learning. If you are pretty laid back about your hair and you are willing to help students out by letting them practice on you, then this is perfect for you. You might just come out with the perfect 'do and you would have only paid $7. Check groupon for deals. I saw one a while back. read more

I brought my son in for a haircut last Saturday. He has a Mohawk but his wasn't as nice as the Instructor there. So my 7year old son went over to the instructor, the one that sits in the 1st barber chair, and asked if he could cut his Mohawk as fresh as his was. The instructor was all smiles, and told him he would most definitely hook his cut up. He did just that, the designs are awesome!!.....My baby boy and I were happy with his new, funky fresh Mohawk! All the kids at his school love his hair. We will be regulars there every other Saturday morning! Thank You so much :) read more

I know it's a school and the students are still learning but I'm very disappointed in my haircut. They left a patch in the back of my head. It's not worth it to go here for a cheaper haircut and get butchered like this. I'm disgusted. read more

Great place to learn top notch barber skills. The instructor Stevie Early knows everything and anything about being a barber, hair styles, and he knows how teach all the latest barber styles. One thing that caught my attention is that he made me feel welcome and one of the family. He made sure that I was happy with my results and that I was comfortable. For the amount of knowledge and skills this is definitely worth it! Stevie is not only an instructor but he is talented with his hands. I have had the pleasure of him tapering my short hair cut and handle my nephew which is 4 years old. Every time I come into Moler Barber, I am taken aback by the great attention to detail. I can sometimes tend to be picky when it comes to my hair but I left the establishment happy and I highly recommend this establishment. All the people that cut are fully in tune with their craft. Great vibe, located conveniently, amazing products and *of course* a great price. read more

I always come here with my mom and brother to get his hair cut. The atmosphere is so lively, never an awkward moment.

Every time I need a cut this place seems to never be open. I'm not from around here so I don't know the spots to go. I don't understand if your closed on sunday why open up at 4 on Monday might as well stay closed I can see opening up at 12 on Monday. As a out of town er it seems like to me the businesses of Richmond moto is to always stay closed and not serve customers kinda half ass backwards to me. I can't complain about the price but I would rather cash out to get a professional cut than roll the dice here. read more

We travel up from Oakland every 2 weeks to see Steve. We moved to the Bay Area 2 years ago. One of the first challenges was to find a barber that we loved for our 2 teenagers. I'm a stickler on my boys looking well groomed. We tried several and settled that Steve at Moler Barber College was worth the drive. Both of our boys wear high fades and no one that we tried does a better job. It's rarely a long wait. Every time we try a different barber for convenience, we end up right back here. read more

This review is for Cisco. I first took my son to Cisco about 3 years ago, and I will only take him to Cisco. If I can't make it when he is there, oh well...were going to have to wait till he's available. He's friendly and does a great job. I've taken my son other places before I met Cisco, and the other shops ALWAYS cut him, leaving a dark scab around his hair line. I hate that, looks so bad. Cisco has NEVER cut him, does a great job, and my son likes him a lot too, he's great with the little ones. He's not a beginner folks, hair is what he does. My son walks in, sits down and Cisco already knows what cut I like so it's super convenient. read more

I've been a customer for approx 5 years.. Followed my barber who became the instructor "Stevie" one of the best barber's in the bay and a great instructor. My sons are very particular about who they let cut there hair, so to see them allow students to put there personal spin on there designs was a shock and a testimate to the level of instruction and students that are present at Moler College.. Oh yeah and I drive from Dublin Ca all the way to San Pablo 3 times a month for the great service and old school barbershop ambiance.. read more
