I went to this spa in an attempt to get a manicure. I have great nails naturally so it is generally a pleasant experience. The nail technician that helped me and my friend did a horrific job. She made almost all of my nails bleed. It was not busy there were no other guests there. So she was not in a hurry. When I made the reservation they did not advise me that the door was locked and you needed your hotel key to get in. Or that it is across the street from the omni. This spa is owned by Omni. I really expected more from the Omni. Please be warned that this spa not worthy of anyone's patronage.

    AC vent INSIDE shower stall!!!

We ended up at the Mokara Spa as part of a hotel/spa/dining package. If you're just interested in the service, then this might be a good bet for you. But if you want a really luxurious spa to hang out in for a couple of hours, I'd look elsewhere. Though the spa itself was very clean, it was incredibly small. There were only four showers, a very small hot tub, of course a steam and sauna. There was a small relaxation lounge as well. The massage I got was great. He was very attentive and I left very relaxed. But I also like taking a really long hot shower when I go to spas, and was disappointed to find that every shower stall at the Mokara had an air conditioning vent INSIDE the stall. So while the water might have been hot, the air was cold, making it pretty uncomfortable. Also, the shower heads were not the greatest, and water pressure was low. So as I said above, thumbs up on the massage, but the facilities themselves were not what I like in a spa.

On my way to treatment rooms. Nice calm colors around me

My husband and I came here to the Mokara hotel since it's a 5 stars facility. He surprised me because I honestly didn't know where we were staying. When I first enter the spa the girl greeted me and gave me a locker, you also get a nice plush robe and slippers. There is a whirlpool , steam room and dry sauna. And also several showers. Everything looked really nice. There were certain aspect of the spa that I would say they neglected. Like the rim about the whirlpool was dirty. I could see dead bugs so it needs a little Cleaning. But I notice details Bc I go to high end spas all the time. I expect all details to be taken care of.....Especially when you pay $200-300 per treatment you expect the best experience. The spa attendant there wasn't the nicest person, she didn't seem like she wanted to be there. When I was in the relaxation room (very nice, stocked with little snacks and water) she didn't really wanted to answer my questions. And it was hard to find her when I needed her. Since you have to ask the attendant to make you tea. You can't make it yourself. The relaxation room is very calm, zen like. It has comfty chairs and lounges with blankets. I feel like I could probably fall in sleep in there after a nice massage! Treatments: I decided to go with 1) the Mokara signature massage that uses hot and cold stones. It was such a different experience! I totally recommend it for anyone who has back pain. I also got the 2) Mokara signature facial- and it was really relaxing as well. She seem very knowledgable about skin care. They use a German based skin care line that I never heard of before. It's called Bobara. The results were awesome. My face felt soft and refreshed. At the end I was in a rush to leave and wanted to make sure they gave me the correct pricing since it was "happy hour" pricing. But they messed up my bill anyway which caused some stress after a relaxing day at the spa. I also ordered lunch and it can only be eaten on their rooftop bar. I had to wear my rove up there to eat which to me was kinda weird. I ordered the ceviche and the Kale salad. Both delicious! But as always, it was quite expensive since mandatory delivery fee and service charge are always added at hotels. Overall, if I came to San Antonio again I would visit this spa. But only during the happy hour pricing. I'm giving this spa 4 stars Bc the manager heard about my issues and was very eager to resolve any problems I had with billing and also the issue with the attendant. That totally made a huge difference with me. I could tell they really try to provide the best service. They might just need to hire better spa attendant.

My cousin and I went here for our hair and makeup. The makeup artist was good. The hair stylist was super warm and friendly and definitely accomplished our requested styles. My most favorite part was getting refills on the coconut agua frescas. Those were amazing! Overall the ambiance was pleasant and calming.

Such an amazing hotel and spa! We had nothing but the best service from both the hotel and spa! I highly recommend this location to anyone who wants to have great service and feel spoiled. It was my birthday and everyone made my day so special - thank you!!! We will definitely come back to this hotel and spa.

I left feeling completely decompressed, relaxed, and refreshed. There was no more tension in my neck and shoulders, and I could immediately feel the difference. She created such a calming experience, and I truly felt the stress melt away. I also had the Deluxe Hydrafacial with Shantal. I was a little nervous because my skin was dry and irritated from allergies, but she made the entire experience so comfortable--there was no burning or sensitivity at all. Shantal was incredibly informative and took the time to explain which products would best target my specific skin concerns. Her massage was relaxing, and the pressure was perfect. I left with no more puffiness in my face from congestion and glowing, hydrated skin. I highly recommend both Heidi and Shantal for an amazing, rejuvenating, and fully personalized experience!

The bathrooms and showers are too. The snack area was a bit disappointing, only ice water and no hot water or tea offered. Only one kind of trail mix nuts. The inhalation room had a nice essential oil scent blowing and the wall projector plays a nice northern lights display. The mirror room has all the essentials - body lotion, hair spray, hair dryer though very outdated and could be a newer model. The hot tub was kept at a good temperature and has working jet streams. The steam room pumps steam in frequently. The sauna was hot and wonderful. My massage service was very good. My masseuse Kevin did a wonderful job with the deep tissue massage.

After a scan and setting your preferences, your massage begins. During the massage, you're able to change the music, skip a certain area, and add or decrease the pressure. It's convenient having the customizations at your fingertips and the pressure is accurate. I had a quick 30-min massage and overall it was a good experience. 4 out 5 for the massage. The spa portion wasn't the best, as it was a cold rainy day so the pool wasn't an option. I also mentioned several times it was my first time at the spa and wasn't given a tour or told about the amenities. I chose to use the fitness center but wasn't told about any lockers or anywhere I could leave my belongings. Storing my umbrella and coat would've been convenient. I don't think I'd be back as you can't make a full day out of it unless it's pool weather or you enjoy a hot tub. 3 out of 5

With busy schedules, I found a day that worked for everyone and booked my appointment. I arrived about an hour early so I could enjoy the hot tub before my massage. I was also planning to take advantage of the spa amenities afterward and grab lunch at one of the restaurants. About 10 minutes before my appointment, I put on my robe and headed to the waiting area. As my appointment time came and went, I watched every other guest get called back for their massages while I continued to wait. After another 10 minutes had passed, I finally went to the front desk to ask what was going on. The manager came out and informed me that there had been a miscommunication and my massage therapist was unable to make it to work that day. Unfortunately, there were no other therapists available and no alternative appointment times. I was simply told they were sorry and that I would need to reschedule. At that point, I broke down in tears. This wasn't just a massage, it was my birthday gift and my first opportunity to step away from the chaos and demands of postpartum life. Having that experience taken away without any notice was incredibly disappointing. To their credit, they did offer me a complimentary massage whenever I am able to rebook, which I appreciated and accepted. However, this was a very disappointing first impression. A simple phone call before I arrived could have saved me the time, effort, childcare arrangements, and emotional letdown.

We usually get a massage which includes access to all the amenities such as the pool, lounge area, sauna, steam room, indoor pool, etc. For our 25th anniversary, we opted for day passes at $125 p/p. Since this was our first time using Resort Pass, which is where I was directed to buy them, we did not know if the check-in/out process would be different. Nope, just as smooth and still included validated parking. We skipped the tour since we are familiar with the spa. Changed our attire into their comfy robes and sandals, then headed straight outside the main lounge area to begin our day of relaxation. After lying around and reading for a while, it was time for some drinks. Unfortunately, there is no service in that area, but it is a short walk to the bar. Since we were celebrating our 25th, they were kind enough to give us complimentary champagne. After finishing our drinks, it was time to head down to their amazing pool overlooking the hill country. Absolutely stunning! Fortunately, the pool area offers service, so the drinks started flowing. No cocktails, just beer. The pools temperature was perfect, minimal adjustment, if any, on such a hot day. When lunch came around, we opted for the chicken BLT which came with chips. An error occurred with our order, so we did not receive it until well over an hour later, but being the place it is, recognized this, apologized, and removed it from our bill. After spending a majority of our day at the pool, it was time to end our day in the sauna and steam room with a final dip inside. What an amazing way to spend our anniversary.
