She walked out the room and I waited for about 5 minutes. When she returns she tells me I cannot get a facial until 4p and I declined the service. She then proceeds to place a Bluetooth radio on the table by my head, it was playing faucet water sounds. I thought it was weird but I went along with it. She started the massage and I the whole time I was thinking "is she touching me?!". She literally poked my back, rubbed my left arm, applied foot scrub on my feet, wiped it off and we were done! I was like What The ENTIRE Fuck?!?! I put my robe on and went to look for my mom. I was like did we schedule a 30 minute or an hour? The rest of our party was there and confirmed it was for 50 minutes. I was livid!! So I assumed it was cut short due to us arriving late and then being busy I understand that. So when we went to the counter to pay they wanted to charge us for a full 50 minutes massage. I refused to pay for a shitty 30 minutes massage at the 50 minute rate. I am writing to share a complaint about my recent post-op massage with Lori. I have had two…read moreprevious therapists at this location and both experiences were excellent, so this appointment was very disappointing. From the beginning of the session, Lori was extremely rough with the massage. Post-op massages require care and gentleness, but throughout the entire appointment her technique felt overly aggressive and uncomfortable. In addition, she made several comments about my body that were inappropriate and insulting. She asked if I had liposuction on my arms, which I did not. She then asked when I had a tummy tuck, which I have also never had I only had a C-section. These assumptions were unnecessary and made me feel uncomfortable during the session. There were also moments that felt very unprofessional. At one point she tossed a pillow onto my neck area instead of placing it properly, and when wiping the oils off my body with a towel she was extremely rough. This is something I have never experienced during any massage, especially a post-op massage where extra care should be taken. Because my previous therapists were so professional and gentle, this experience stood out for all the wrong reasons. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as the level of care and professionalism during this appointment did not meet the standard I experienced before.

When we were first sat, it was next to a bush that had so many bees. We asked a server to move but she stated all daybeds were taken (despite some being empty through our stay). We asked a second server our request again because we were unable to even sit on the daybed without bees swarming on us. This second server was able to move us with no issues. Upon arrival there were no towels, we had to ask multiple times before we received any. The food was served quickly thankfully and was pretty good- as well as our drinks. We ordered a pina colada and gin based drink. Both were good but it was way too hot to drink how we wanted. The turkey sandwich, guacamole and chips, and chicken tenders were also good and pretty standard. There was a separate adult pool on the lower deck that was a lot quieter than the general pool (and no kids) with better music. We know for next time to just order chairs here. Ending the night, it took at least 25 minutes for our final receipt to be given. I had to approach the bar area twice to ask what was going on. There seemed to be confusion on our pool tab and how to close our Resort Pass. Spending over $300, the experience could've been a lot better with quicker service. It was also hard to follow who was our server as we were greeted by 4-5 people through our time. I would consider coming here on a calmer day out of season if looking for a more relaxing experience. Plus to seeing the fireworks while leaving. The pools were a lot more enjoyable once the sun began to set which was around 7 (our stay was from 4-9).

The room itself as mentioned is massive; it has a living room with a TV, huge bed with a TV in that other room, a small kitchen, two part bathroom with a shower and tub in one separate area, and two patios outside. There is a little sitting area/courtyard in the front too which I just know would be lovely at night to sit and have a beer and look at the stars. The staff were attentive and helpful, and I can see how hard they work to keep their spaces clean and organized for guests. Personally I also just find the topaz pool (adult-only infinity pool) that overlooks the hill country to be a little happy place of mine. The vibes are A1. Overall: I've been coming here once per summer for a conference, and I hope it can be an annual thing since I just really like this resort and want to try some other San Antonio restaurants, including signature which is Michelin recommended and on this resort's property!
