I hate to say i had a bad experience with this company because i really think it's a cute salon. i reached out a few months back to book an appointment, and was quoted a price that was a bit out of my price range, so i went ahead and canceled my appointment.( this wasn't the issue). Today i received a call from the salon and was questions on why i was late, I had canceled that appointment and so i was confused. It was just my luck that my phone died while I was on the phone with the salon, after my phone charged back up I had received a text from a mobile phone number calling me "rude". I assume they figured I hung up, but this is extremely rude and unprofessional. Sadly I do not see myself ever booking another appointment. read more

Ron did my haircut about two months ago and I loved it! Even as it has grown out I still love it. He used a Demi color on my roots so the grow out would slowly fade and not have such a noticeable line which worked amazingly! The salon itself is so beautiful and welcoming. So much to see inside! Mojo Pie has a great feel to it. Tony is amazing! However, I made the huge mistake of going to Ron because of a schedule conflict and couldn't get into to Tony. Please do yourself a favor and not make my mistake. Not only did I leave crying but I had to pay someone else to fix the disaster Ron considered a haircut. Not to mention, it took him almost 2 hours to destroy my hair. With that said, I have only had haircuts by Tony and Ron so I cannot comment on the other stylists. If you give it a try, stick to Tony if no one else has been recommended to you. read more

Heard good things about Mojo Pie and decided to give it a shot. While it is tucked away a bit, its hard to miss if you're looking for it. Everything about this place is interesting and sort of oddball (in a good way). The service is very friendly from everyone, and the atmosphere is very relaxed. The vibe of the place is unlike any other salon I've been to. I had my hair cut by Tony, the owner, who is a very nice and sociable man with a good eye for style and who does excellent cuts. He told me while I was there that he built the building from the ground up, which I found interesting. I was very pleased with my cut (I gave him creative control over it) and have recommended others here. They have all been pleased with the results as well. I did pay a little more here than I would elsewhere, which made me leery at first, but in the end, I felt I received a comparable increase in quality, so for me the difference is worth it. read more

Ever have a haircut that seemed like a master sculptor got their hands on you and uncovered the beauty that was waiting underneath? Wow! I choose this place for its hip art concept and what awaited me did not disappoint. The atmosphere is comfy and plush and the people are friendly. The haircut was amazing! How he knew exactly what shape would bring out my eyes and so complement my face shape I'll never know. Yes, they study this in school but rarely do stylists truly get it. All I know is that a master artist set to work on my coiffure and made me feel like a cut and polished stone, sparkling in the sun. The product the stylist insisted I use is also unbelievably awesome! They were out the day of my cut and so he ordered some because, in his opinion, only the one would do. In the mean time I bought something else until then. O...M...G! It really was the best. For almost a month now I've had daily (DAILY) complements on my hair. I recently moved to Springfield from Southern CA and was in the market for a new hairdresser. I had tried a couple salons downtown, but couldn't find one that would actually cut my hair to give it shape and movement. I tried Mojo Pie based upon a friend's recommendation. Rachel Elliott cut my hair and I absolutely LOVE it!! I have very thin hair. She cut it to give it shape, movement, and volume. It is EXACTLY what I was looking for and exactly what the two salons before couldn't seem to accomplish. It is so easy to style--a sign you got a great cut. I keep getting compliments on my eyes--little do people know it is my haircut that's bringing out my eyes! The staff is friendly and the prices very reasonable. I don't know about the other review about Ron but I had a great experience. My hair stylist that I had gone to for years was getting married and moving on. So i have been looking for a new one. In the last six months I have had 5 desaterous hair cut and colors. 3 of which I left without letting them go past the color. Ron listened to everything I wanted and he hit every bench mark I had. I just moved to Springfield from Atlanta Ga. and needed to find a new hair dresser here. I finished chemo seven months ago and this was to be the first cut since my hair grew back. ( I kept putting off a cut because I didn't want to lose my chemo curls ;-). Every time I saw anyone with a cute cut I asked the name of their hairdresser, but just finally decided to do a Google search for reviews of Springfield Salons, which led me to this sight and to Gopal at Mojo Pie. Gopal gave me a wonderfully stylish pixie cut! I really love it!!! Jaime did my shellac manicure yesterday and it was singularly the most unprofessional experience I've had in a salon to date. She complained nonstop about her job as she was doing sloppy work and then less than 3 hours later, as I was sitting in an important meeting, I looked down and saw the polish had completely fallen off 2 of my nails. I texted her and she told me to come in this morning to fix it. I already had a busy day, but this needed to be fixed so I made time. From the minute I walked in, she made it clear it was an imposition on her for me to be there and that she was irritated she was having to fix the mess she created. When I noticed she was running late and asked about it, she announced that it wasn't going to work between us, told me there are other nail salons and refused to fix the manicure she had ruined. She did refund the cost, but that doesn't begin to make up for the unpleasantness and frustration of the process and the waste of my time. I've been to Mojo Pie before and they seem to care about their clients and providing good service, but at this point I would recommend going elsewhere, at least for any nail services, and definitely stay away from Jaime. read more
