She came back to ask how many poached eggs? Two please. So excited! So hungry! So sad when I was served two fried eggs. The griddle must've been really hot, because the undersides were brown and scaly. It's why I only like poached. Waitress understood, apologized. No worries, bring me two poached eggs and I'll keep the muffin, spinach, feta. Hot eggs on top will be fine. Friend went ahead and ate his eggs. No complaints. As he neared finishing, my eggs showed up. Poached attempt, but whites not cooked completely, not even hot. So disappointing. Waitress finally came back when he was done and mine were inedible. I was just so sad. The owner must've noticed because she came over and tried to make it right. Took it off the bill. Offered me donuts. I appreciated the offer but no, off the bill was fine. It was then I realized she really cared. She went above and beyond. Put together an insanely generous bag with the day's leftover bagels & a few donuts! We left with this epic haul so when I got home I made my own eggs and had it with the most delicious bagel ever! And the donuts? Amazing! It was the end of day and the griddle person was probably exhausted but I will come back, for donuts and bagels, yes, maybe even for poached eggs, but mostly just for the hospitality.
