So I just roll into town from DC Area, and into an Apartment, still unpacking, need a dentist, mechanic, and I dislike dealership service centers for obvious reasons if you've ever had your vehicle service by a typical dealership, they under-serve and over charge, making me wait endlessly has been my experiences.
I return my U-Haul and ask the nice lady at the U-haul shop if she knows of a nice, fair auto mechanic shop in town? She refers me to MoJarro's Auto Repair. Granted the place is nothing to fancy, but the three Mechanics (MoJarro, Jesse, and and Fransisco) I met there, were all very friendly and personable! It is a family run business, so be polite and respectful and they will reciprocate. I can only imagine that if someone comes across rude and demanding that they will suggest a different place for your business. But I had a left rear light out on my 2001 Ford pickup and thought it would be a simple thing of swapping a bulb or replacing a blown fuse, I was wrong! I know I was wrong, because these guys saw me or rather my truck right away, I got there on a quiet Monday around noon. They LET ME STAND INT THE SHOP AND WATCH them work, I mean who does this except folks with NOTHING to hide. They checked the fuses, swapped a bulbs, no joy, they spent the remainder of the afternoon diagnosing it, and when the end of the day came and it wasn't fixed, they asked if I could return in the morning. When I did, they had researched the issue common on that vehicle and found the issue in the tilt steering column, there were some other things wrong too like a blown relay and some wire corrosion, and they fixed it all and only charged me $150, they had every right to charge me $89/hour for the 6-8 hours they worked on it, but they are not in business to gouge their customers, they provided great value and service and likely have over 100 years of experience fixing up autos between them! They will tell you if it is an issue they are not equipped to service or solve. But MoJarro and his crew has earned my business on both our vehicles!
If you want to take your car to a tidy and clean shop, just remember that you are paying them to tiddy up. Mojaaro's shop looks like a shop that see's a lot of service and work, They will let to watch them work if you so desire! read more
