    Cacio y Pepe with Shrimp
    Marina A.

The food & service were amazing. My waiter was George and he was fantastic. I had the Cacio y Pepe with shrimp and it was super good. They make their pasta fresh & the shrimp was fresh also. You can taste the quality in their food. My favorite thing was definitely their roasted peppers sauce with bread, there's magic in that sauce. I'm going back just to buy a jar and stuff my face with fresh authentic Italian food.

They started you with a dipping sauce with quality EVOO, red peppers, anchovies, capers and secret spices. The bread was delicious on its own, but even better with the dipping sauce. Ordered the Zuppe De Pesce with a red sauce. The meal was delicious. It had a lot of fish that was cooked to perfection. The sauce was a little spicy and very good. The pasta was homemade and light and did a good job absorbing the sauce. We ate outside and it had food COVID protection.

Very good experience here. The waiter was awesome, the food was amazing and the spot was great. This was our tour of the Little Italy in the Bronx. Would definite recommend this place and for aire would like to go back. They have a rear patio, it was raining, bit it looked very cool and chill.

After a morning at the New York Botanical Garden, we always go to try a new restaurant on Arthur Ave and Gerbasi Ristorante is where I wanted to go. It's a small cozy place and the kitchen is tiny by proportion. They open at 11:30 on Sunday and we walked in just before noon and had the whole place to ourselves for the whole time. Many of the restaurants on the block don't open until at least 12 or 1pm. We sat at the front table inside because it was a hot 90° outside, but otherwise I would have wanted to sit in the backyard patio. Since we were the only customers, we had the undivided attention of the staff, so our water was always filled and the food came out in record time. You start with some crusty Italian bread with their signature Sun-dried tomato and EVOO sauce, which is incredible. I wish they would bottle that stuff up. They have a whole board of Specials of the Day, so definitely check those out. For appetizers for our group of 6, we shared the Clams Oreganata, Fried Calamari & Artichokes, Fried Meatballs and a Caesar Salad. The calamari was awesome with very lightly battered coating fried to a crisp that didn't separate and the fried artichoke was a perfect complement, not filler. The fried meatballs looked really dark but tasty and came in a minty cream sauce that worked well in the taste dept. Somehow, as a group we decided without conferring to order double of 3 different specials because they sounded so good. The double portions of Soft Shell Crab Francese, Rigatoni al Forno and Pappardelle in Osso Buco Ragu came out really fast and were all really good. The lemony sauteed crab came over linguini was a little on the fishy side though. You could tell the pappardelle pasta was made really fresh from the chew of the first bite. The flavors of the sauces have a unique southern Italian flavor with other Mediterranean influences, which is also shown by all the fresh seafood they have on the menu. Even though we like to try all the great restaurants along Arthur Ave, we might have to double back for another taste!

Classic. Classic. Yummy. Came here after an evening at the orchid show at the Botanical Gardens. It was pretty late in the evening so the place wasn't packed. Perfect. Ironically the decor here included a sprinkling of orchids. Talk about a perfect theme. Oh my goodness. Here we go. The food was spectacular. Specifically the Pork Ragu with beautiful homemade pappardelle pasta. Singular best pasta I have had in months. The gnocchi was also amazing. Sometimes it can be tough without the pillowy bounce. This was not the case. Stunning as well. This restaurant doesn't pop up towards the top of yelp but don't be fooled. The food is ridiculously good.

The food here used to be so good! It's horrible. I got a pizza to go and an APEROL Spritz while I waited... pretty basic for an Italian place, no? Apparently these basics have gone downhill. They handed me an APEROL made with Cheap Moscato.... And when I asked for a refund they said they didn't know how. I was reasonable, and I asked for another. I walked the bartender thru how to make it. My pizza arrives and I ask if I could get the drink in a plastic cup to go since I live close. This picture is what I was handed. A 15 dollar drink that I had to teach them ti make... Oh well I think... the pizza is so good. I arrived home with half baked dough. It was half raw. Never going back.

I Love Gerbasi. I randomly ran into this restaurant in 2021 during the pandemic. At the time dining in was not an option so i never truly got to see the inside of the restaurant. They had a table set up as soon as you walked in and someone would ask if you were there for pick up, confirm your order and hand off the food. NOW that the world is finally getting back to normal, i decided that i needed to visit Gerbasi. I went on a sunday for lunch with my husband and daughter. We made no reservations. We were greeted immediately at the door. We were not asked for vaccination cards either. The restaurant is beautiful, simple and clean. They have wall paper with a map of italy on one of the walls. They also have a picture of the Mona Lisa hanging on the wall. The bar was beautiful. So neat. So clean. All of the bottles beautiful lined it. The menu i received had crumbs in it, that was the only dirty item i came in contact with. I cannot give enough credit to the SERVICE. George was our waiter and he was such a gem. He immediately let us know that they were short staffed but he promised to get to us as much as possible. I respected that and loved the heads up. He came back with a white dry erase board that listed all of the specials. He told us he would be back and he did. George went through every single item on the specials menu. He gave details about what ingredients were in the dishes and how they were prepared. I have NEVER had a waiter go into such details. The bartender was also very helpful. He came to our table and refilled our drinks, asked if we wanted additional drinks and removed plates and cups from our table. My husband is the most complicated man when it comes to drinks and i was so happy that the bartender was able to make him something he loved. Everyone was so friendly and had great smiles pn their faces. I loved it. My daughter ordered a Margarita pizza. It came with pizza sauce, plum tomatoes, basil and Mozzarella cheese. She loved it. I also tasted it and it was great. The dough is fluffy and chewy. I ordered one of the specials of the day. It was ravioli stuffed with sausage and mushrooms with a sage butter garlic sauce. It was good. The edges of the pasta were too hard. It either needed to be boiled longer or possibly needed thinner pasta. The filling was really good. This wasn't a kill for me because the ravioli was so huge, i was able to take the corners off and the middle was a big round pillow of deliciousness. My husband ordered the carbonara pasta dish. He did not like it. They used what tasted like smoked ham hocks instead of bacon or prosciutto. The smoke flavor was very overwhelming even when you didnt eat a piece of the meat. There were so many pieces of smoked meat, it was too much. We also ordered appetizers. We had the fried calamari and artichokes. It was really good and seasoned perfectly. I have also ordered that appetizer for take out and it's exactly the same. So its nice to know that the food is consistent from take out to dine in quality. We also ordered one of the appetizers that were on the specials menu. It was mussels in a garlic tequila sauce. Soooo good. I would have that again. The last thing we had was the limoncello cake. I would of never ordered it SO i am beyond happy that George recommended it. The service with the food was above and beyond. Dishes came out in a timely fashion. Everything was HOT when it was out. Since my husband wasn't too happy about his dish, the waiter accommodation it immediately. He was understanding and very sweet about it. I have ordered take out from here multiple times. I can't even tell you how many times but between my husband and i, maybe 10+ times. We normally order the same exact things. My husband gets the spaghetti bologese all of the time. He loves it. I also find it to be really good. I usually order penne a la vodka with or without shrimp. We also usually get the fried calamari and artichokes, a favorite of ours. I have also ordered the squash ravioli which is sooooo good. I recommend it. Its sweet and buttery and savory all at the same time. The hints of sage are amazing. I've ordered that about 3x's and each time it was amazing. I have also gotten the grilled octopus which is good. Its mixed with onions and peppers and seasoned with oil and vinegar. Overall this is our spot. I love the food here. I look forward to dining in again and will continue to order take out.

Great atmosphere! Friendly chef & waiter! Deliciously amazing food! All staff wore masks and were extremely polite. The wine was great! Cannolis for dessert *chef's kiss* Not to mention, the Arthur Avenue carolers came to spread a little holiday cheer! My partner and I will definitely be stopping through again soon!

Had dinner here and food was amazing! Service was great. We had a pasta special tagliatelle with osso bucco ragu (left) and penne alla vodka (right) it was delicious. Sat in the patio which was a nice cozy spot. Will be back !

Lovely afternoon lunch in the back garden on Arthur Avenue. We were shaded in a secluded spot - following social distance guidelines. Great service by George, our waiter. All staff wore masks. We had a watermelon salad appetizer, tasty and refreshing. We tried the pork chop with Gorgonzola and sautéed veggies. Chop was cooked well, moist and flavorful. Lots of veggies seasoned well. We also tried from the menu the chicken and prosciutto. Tasty. A nice leisurely time - good food good atmosphere in this restrictive time. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL RESTAURANTS

As one should. I ordered the Pasta al Forno, which showed up hot, cheesy, and very much not interested in being subtle. Comfort food doing the absolute most -- baked, sauced, and bubbling like it knew it was the right choice. One would think "Boiled eggs in pasta?", but trust me, the bechamel sauce takes it to the next level. Ms. J. went for the daily special: Radiatori in Cartoccio, cooked inside a sealed pocket of aluminum foil and opened tableside like a little pasta reveal. Steamy, aromatic, and frankly a bit of a showoff -- in the best possible way. And then there was the Tiramisu. We shared it (heroically), and I'm just going to say it: top-tier tiramisu. Not too sweet, beautifully balanced, rich without being heavy -- one of the best we've had in NYC, and we do not make that claim lightly. We both love tiramisu. We both judge tiramisu. This one passed with stars. Zero nonsense, big flavors, and a tradition that continues to age very well. We'll be back. Obviously. ‍

The manager disappeared into the kitchen, leaving him waiting with no updates. By 7:48 PM, after over 40 minutes, he left without the food. During that wait, other customers were seated, served, finished their meals, paid, and left -- all while two simple sandwiches could not be produced. I spoke directly with the manager twice. Instead of taking responsibility, he argued about the pickup time, minimized the delay, and only offered excuses and after-the-fact store credit. No proactive communication. No apology. No basic follow-through. Delays happen. This level of disorganization and lack of accountability is unacceptable. Order takeout elsewhere if you value your time.

I also took home a side order of escarole, sauteed in olive oil and garlic, and grated Parmesan on the side. The Chicken Scarpariello ($37 w/option ) is great and quite filling. The Chicken is coming from the thighs as best I can determine and is chopped up with a few bones that can be handled with a knife and fork. I would definitely order this always on the bone for flavor. You have the boneless option, but go with the bone. The cherry hot peppers add a definitive kick, above Fra Diavolo level, but nothing anyone cannot handle. The sausage was overcooked, but the potatoes were spot on. The red sauce, ziti and Parmesan calmed the moderate heat down if anyone is concerned. The escarole was a good accompaniment, but the spice level overwhelmed the wine with this dish. By the way, I can now confirm this $48 Montepulciano is of the Sangiovese varietal from Montepulciano D.O.C. The Chicken Scarpariello with the added option is also a more fulfilling meal than the Veal Martini and I can understand why it is a leading dish on the menu at Enzo's. I find it to be equally good too, so no downgrade in the rating. It highlights the consistency of the dishes served by the kitchen with steady chefs over the years. Marcello, my server, told no lies. The Double Cut Pork Chop ($33) was a bit more satisfying and delicious. It's thick, about two inches or more thick. They trimmed most of the fat, but left enough for added flavor. Notice the darkened color of the fat trim that has been seared and caramelized. Yum! The thick chop is cooked all the way through, but it's not tough or challenging to cut. It's still juicy and somewhat tender inside, with the added juice and flavor of the sauce. Over the escarole and pasta with garlic and dusted with Parmesan for that pop, your palate is in for a most satisfying experience. The Double Cut Pork Chop is one of those dishes that will keep people coming to Enzo's. It also paired better with the wine, given the heat from the hot cherry peppers was less pronounced and not overwhelming for the relatively low tannin and low acidity wine. I have had Sangiovese that drink a lot bigger and don't even mention the Brunellos. Enzo's of Williamsbridge is not overcharging in my opinion. They could have increased prices more on account of inflation, but they have not. Their loyal patrons would balk of they did. The dishes on the menu generally range from the high twenties to high thirties for generous servings. Wines by the bottle are reasonably priced and I can see why one would take your family here or take someone on a date here with the quality and value proposition served up consistently since 1998. Enzo's is a go to restaurant for many loyal patrons. I would and will return easily and can give Enzo's high marks. Just seat me inside the main dining room next time please. 4.0 very solid and consistent stars!
