Carnitas were properly cooked and two tacos were super gigantic, I'm glad I didn't order more than I needed! The cheese enchiladas had a nice serving of salad with it. The lady taking orders was super friendly to everyone. We had a nice conversation in Spanish about Bad Bunny (and she cheerfully filled the gaps in my Spanish with perfectly fine English, haha). We got takeout but the restaurant is cute. The market next door has desserts and Mexican sodas (and beers!) for your extra needs, and the lovely lady there greeted me like I was family. (And not just when they do the birthday salutes-which are very festive-with different touches than the usual) So, I'm guessing this A-frame inspired building was once a Stuckey's or a Days inn restaurant (there's still a motel next door). But the outside decor matches the inside-bright and beckoning (with so many great murals!) It's on the frontage road, right next to the southbound lanes of U.S. 19 (just half a mile north of the SR 60 exit). It's full of booths and tables that are arranged well (not too close together). There's also bar seating and a colorful extra room on the right, when you walk in. The complimentary chips and salsa were delivered immediately. Those chips were going down quickly while studying the large food menu (with lunch specials and a tempting dessert section)-and the separate large drink menu. I settled on a top shelf margarita-which was on the slightly sweeter side-leaning more into orange than lime. I also ordered the lunch fajitas-which came with a guacamole salad and rice and beans (I chose to double up on the beans). This was total value for money! This is a very generous portion! My favorite part of this visit was my server. She was so sweet and kind! The whole staff was friendly and cheerful. They seem to enjoy their work and each other-and they keep things sparkling clean! She asked me if I knew what I wanted to order and I said no I didn't even know really what was on the menu and she immediately talked to me about the special that they were having on the Bowls and walked me through how to order one - picking the meat, rice, beans, and toppings. I'm not exaggerating; I place a delivery order typically two to four times per month, and most will be wrong. We consider it a lucky day if the order comes through properly. Drinks are the most frequent missing item, which is all the more frustrating if it's a Throwback day when you are supposed to receive a drink and don't. Side items are the second largest issue. I used to always add a salsa and chips, and it often goes missing. They're not immune to just screwing the whole order up too though; we've had bowls come with the wrong meat from time to time. It's not just the mistakes though, they can't even remedy the situation properly. I called two minutes after arrival of my most recent incorrect delivery missing my salsa. They said they'd credit my card back that evening. Never happened. I've interacted with the management, via email form and in person, they're always very nice, and nothing ever changes. This store is broken and can't be fixed; I give up.

It is located in an older plaza and is somewhat hard to see from the road. I called in my order, so this review focuses on the food. I decided to try some tacos and a quesadilla. I went with a pastor, carne asada, and tinga taco. I saw they offered birria and decided to try a birria quesadilla. They said it would be 15 minutes which worked out well. I arrived and they had my order ready. I paid and walked out to the car to find only one box in my bag and it felt a bit light. I found 4 tacos in my box instead of the 3 I ordered and a quesadilla. I went back in and told them about the issue and they tossed a quesadilla on for me. It came up quickly and I was on my way. They were good about making it right. I got home and dove in. The birria taco looked great and also tasted great. The consume was on point as well. It was nice to find another solid option for birria close to St Pete. The chicken tinga was really tasty as was the carne asada & pastor. All of the tacos had a generous amount of filling. The birria quesadilla was hefty and quite filling. I had hoped it would be served with the consume, but it was not. They packed it with a solid amount of cheese and meat.
