Out of the box Taco shells. Really. Beans are Caned and salty. Rice is long grain and -0- Flavour Beef Taco is hamburger- and I don't mean seasoned burger. No Shredded meats. For many years Santa Fe has been my go-to Mexican restaurant. In the past ten years I have probably eaten there 30 times and have never once had a bad meal. Rarely these days, do you find Mexican restaurants that still give you free chips and salsa. Santa Fe does. Plus they give you little individual dishes for your salsa so you can double dip to your heart's content. They have an amazingly large menu, but no matter what I order I always include one side dish of their chile relleno. This poblano pepper-based dish comes with either chicken or ground beef, and both are spectacular. Food is served on very hot plates, which keeps it warm throughout the meal. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I've taken many groups there to celebrate birthdays and Santa Fe is always very accommodating and never charges a room fee for large groups. read more

We started off with just a table chips and salsa. I thought that was very good. You certainly get plenty of food from whatever you order. And if you're cheap and hungry, they have a giant burrito for only eight dollars. It could probably feed me for three days. The only thing that was negative was there was no hot sauce on the table. For a Mexican restaurant I thought that should go unsaid. My meal came with stuffed jalapeños that were too hard and had very little cheese in them. The sopapilla for dessert was a little disappointing. It could've used more honey and cinnamon. Prices are reasonable though. read more

This place has become very disappointing. Food has always been mediocre, now, has become a disappointment. This establishment has become overpriced for what it delivers. The bar prices are nuts. I mean, a draft domestic beer is $5.25. Service has become rude and obnoxious. There is no relaxing here. Went for Lunch. Place was empty (bad sign). Server was very laid back. Took forever to get water. Never got the hot water wife requested. I Ordered the # 3 Lunch (chalupa and taco) mine wasn't as expected. Looked like two different styles of Taco. Wife's 'dinner' selection was very disappointing. She ordered grilled pork chops that were tough and looked suspiciously like they had been pan fried ( think they didn't want to turn on the grill for just one order). The sides of refried beans were the worst I've ever had & yellow rice had no flavor. Oh , and the pork chops were placed on top of fried green peppers & onions that looked and tasted like they had been cooked days before. How do you mess up a food order so many times that a nice person becomes a Karen. It starts by bringing tomatoes and lettuce and cheese on street tacos ( which should only have onions and cilantro). Then they fixed it by moving the meat from a soft shell to a hard shell still leaving the tomato and lettuce though the person ordering the food has made clear that she is allergic to tomatoes Then my girlfriend gave the person and old card that was declined. It would have been nice for the person to say to you have an alternative form of payment. Instead, she was told that "You have no money" She asked for the manager and was told they don't have one. She called back and asked to speak to the manager and was told that that there is none that Maria left. It is so sad that this nice looking restaurant is so bad at simply treating guests politely. I stopped in for dinner after a long day driving. I was in the mood for some Mexican food! It was a solo trip, my Fab One back home tending the herd. I REALLY enjoyed the chile relleno. It had that robust chile flavor with a touch of char, and the bubbling cheese was delicious. The tamale had that wonderful sublime undernote of soft savory. The sauces for each item complemented the flavors perfectly. It was fun tempting the taste buds with a bite of this and a bit of that. I was thoroughly pleased. As I crunched and munched on this kaleidoscope of kolours I did some perfect people watching. It's fun watching a young couple with infant in tow testing the taste barriers of their cherub. And it's delightful seeing Octogenarians in love, sharing some spicy selections, throwing heartburn cautions to the wind! The ONLY thing I found as a negative, for me, was the dated and tired decor. There were rope lights devoid of light in the windows. The paper doll place mats hanging from the ceiling looked drab and ready for recycling. We came on Saturday afternoon, parking was plentiful and we we're seated swiftly. The complementary chips and salsa were great. I like spicy food, so I asked if the had any hotter salsa. He brought out their Diablo salsa that was delicious, green in color and not only spicy it was full of flavor. We both ordered off the lunch menu, I had chicken fajitas and hubby had steak fajitas. Both were delicious. It came with guacamole, pico de gallo, shedded iceberg, crema and warm, flour tortillas. Stopped in for the first time today at 330. There was only one or two waiters working but they managed the tables quickly. The waiter came by after about 5 minutes and I gave him my food and drink order. My chimichangas were delicious. My way to stop by every few minutes to check on me. Everything tasted fresh, the restaurant was clean, and the service was great. They had lunch specials, but I just missed it. The food was reasonably priced anyways.
