I stopped by Moe's Southwest Grill in Commack, NY, and had such a great experience that I had to leave a review! The moment I walked in, I was greeted with the classic "Welcome to Moe's!"--and the energy stayed just as friendly the whole visit. The restaurant was clean, the service was quick, and the staff were genuinely attentive. They built my order exactly the way I wanted it, and everything tasted super fresh. The ingredients were well-stocked, the guac was creamy, and the portions were generous (you definitely get your money's worth here!). I also appreciated how the team handled the line--efficient but never rushed. The dining area was tidy, and it was easy to find a comfortable spot to eat. If you're craving a burrito, bowl, or tacos made just the way you like them, this Moe's location is definitely worth visiting. I'll absolutely be back! I ordered takeout from Moe's tonight and got a bowl, but the experience was really disappointing. Right away, the food looked off--it was clumped together and had a mealy texture that just didn't seem right. The taste was just as bad; something about the entire bowl felt wrong, and I could barely eat any of it. I ended up throwing it away because it gave me such a strong sense of discomfort. Now, a few hours later, I'm feeling nauseous. I used to eat at Moe's all the time, but after this experience, I honestly don't want to go back. I used to come here all the time and regret that i don't live close enough anymore but it's still a great place, you can sit and eat in chairs or a booth and make a nice night out of it. there's a soda stream machine and sauce station. place was clean and quiet, employees were very nice. still the best chips of all the takeout mexican / texmex chains!!! read more

AMAZING experience! Excellent service from staff. My boyfriend and I got the nachos and trust me, these guys do NOT skimp on their toppings! This Moe's even had a lemonade slushy machine, which I've literally NEVER seen at any other Moe's that I've been to, and it was so delicious. Whoever was on aux also has great taste in music!! Was here for the 2 for 1 deal waited on a super long line and then the woman in front of me who wasn't even an employee asked me and the group of people i was with if we wanted rice we said yes and she told us there was none left...We would've been waiting an extra 10 min to hear this from an employee and 20 mins for the rice. Ultimately we left, I think this establishment was not prepared for the amount of people that turned up and weren't sure how to run it leaving us disappointed. Updated review. Staff is very sparing with ingredients and very unpleasant. Tried using a coupon and the cashier clicked the used button on our phone and then claimed we used it already. It stated it was used that day but she said we went to another store and used it already. When manager was requested she replied she was the manager and continued to argue with us. After numerous pleas she finally took out her phone and looked it up in the system showing she was the one that clicked it at a specific time. No apology but rather said she will let it slide this time. We will never return to this location and would rather drive 10 minutes out of the way to hauppauge to not deal with bitter employees. I understand coupons aren't ideal for businesses but if you don't want to accept them don't post them. read more

I loved Moe's and frequented often. They stopped offering pork/carnitas months ago. I've inquired and they say it's due to supply chain issues. This is nonsense at this point. It's still offered at other Moe's, just not any Long Island locations. Cano Fresh, Chipotle, Right Coast Taqueria, QDoba etc all offer pork. I haven't been back since they removed it from their menu. Ehhhhh. Hubs had a poor experience here last weekend. The burrito had very little steak, very little guacamole and a lot of lettuce. Nearly $11 for 5 pieces of steak! He asked the kid behind the counter why so little steak and guac and the kid replied, "that's the portion, man". I told him we should go but he was hungry. Unfriendly, rude and inattentive staff, got my order wrong even after repeating myself several times. Manager, owner or franchise rep should care enough to train employees on how to treat people and how to get an order right. Food was good because the ingredients are fresh. But my Three Amigos Tacos were prepared very sloppily. Basically had to put them together myself again once I got to my seat. The inside of the dining room was filthy. The place was maybe a quarter full, and every table that wasn't occupied had some sort of garbage or leftover food on it. The floors were disgusting too. Stopped in this afternoon to check this place out. It's been here for a little while, and always wanted to try it It was lunch time, but the place was not real busy. So I had time to check out the menu. I decided on the Chicken Club Quesadilla. I went up to the counter and the guy made some noises that sounded like "what can i get you buddy". I couldn't be sure, so i assumed that's what he said and told him what I wanted. Going down the line, more strange noises from the next guy, since he was in front of the ingredients part of the station i guessed he was asking what i wanted on it. It was kinda humorous, i guess these "ghost moaning" sounds they were making were codes they used to talk to each other. Finally at the end, the one guy who spoke clearly..."are you staying or going". He kinda ruined it. lol Good quesadilla tasted good, they threw in a handful of nachos and you helped yourself to a selection of different sauces. The place was very clean and a lot of tables an booths to handle the lunch crowd during my visit. The prices are kinda high, the quesadillai ordered and w small drink, came out to $10 and change. I'm kind of disappointed in giving them 1 star but I recently placed a to go order. When I went to pickup my food, I noticed that my drink cups were missing. I want to the register and informed them to which they apologized and gave them to me. When I arrived home I noticed that my chicken quesadilla didn't have any cheese (which I ordered) and instead had peppers (which I did not ordered). I also noticed that my cup of guacamole that I ordered was missing from my order. Also, my cup of queso was extremely watered down. It seems like they were having an off day but I wasn't happy with my order the only reason I didn't go back was because after a long day at work, I didn't want to go back. Next time, they should really double check the orders for accuracy! read more

I'm so upset I even have to write this because I've been coming here for years- but I've had enough. I'll leave out my previous bad experiences and only explain what I just dealt with today. I ordered from the app tonight using $10 rewards points. When my food was delivered, it was the wrong thing. Now, I know this is an issue with DoorDash, the courier Moes partners with through their app, and is no direct fault to the moes workers or managers- but the way this locations manager Gabriela dealt with the situation MADE it a problem with them, as her behavior was disgusting. I called to let them know what happened, which is what the website directs you to do. That way, they can contact DoorDash to deal with the situation. The manager, Gabriela, refused to reach out to them at first and told me it was my problem and to contact DoorDash myself, and then issued me a refund for what I paid for after my reward was applied (which she originally told me she couldn't do) and told me to just "eat what I was given". Completely forgetting that I used my Moes Rewards, which they cannot simply refund. I went back and forth with Gabriela and DoorDash before Gabriela began yelling at me over the phone refusing to allow me to speak. Let me note- I'm a customer service manager myself, so I can tell you I wasn't nasty with her at all. I was very patient and didn't have high expectations for a solution other than a refund. Anyway, at this point I got her name because I was so shaken up about how she was talking to me. Finally, she told me in a super sarcastic tone that she would call DoorDash to fix it (she didn't). Then she hung up on me. I contacted the customer service line and the woman I spoke to was incredible and helped me so much. She explained that I did exactly what I was supposed to and that the store IS in fact supposed to handle situations like these, and that the behavior from this manager was unacceptable. She was able to remedy the situation enough where I'll return to Moes, but nothing will get me back to this location. The pure disrespect and lack of professionalism from this "manager" has me floored. I thought for sure I was talking to a regular employee who had nothing to lose from the way they were speaking to me. She clearly did not care about her job and only cared about being left alone and not having to do anything to help me. All I can say is from all my combined experiences at this location you really need an entire change in staff. Especially management. read more

Only giving it two stars because the food is actually pretty decent. Walked in, literally no other customers. Stood watching the woman behind the counter clean the same spot on the counter, just looking at us, for about two minutes, before she said a word. When she finally took our orders, it appeared as if she was unfamiliar with what normally went in their tacos, as she repeatedly asked what we wanted, and we repeatedly said, exactly how it is on he menu. Took forever to ring us up. I spaced my drink, and stood behind a guy getting rung up, by the same person who failed to greet us, for literally ten minutes before I could get my drink. In conclusion, while the food is good, it can be gotten elsewhere. When you have staff who don't care about customers, don't greet, have no sense urgency, and don't know the menu... well, we won't be coming back. read more

Ordered through online pick ups, on cinco de mayo during the COVID-19 quarantine for 8pm pick up. When I arrived I waited outside to allow other customers to enter. There was a gentleman who worked there, Danis who was delivering curbside to curbside customers as well as informing us when it was OK to enter. When I entered at around 8:15 pm I noticed how hard every worker in Moe's was working to create our orders. A few customers were disgruntled but honestly, how could they be when they could see how fast the workers were working and how every ordered was being checked by a final worker before finally calling our names when our orders are ready. When it was ready for us at about 8:30 I was impressed, they were SWAMPED with orders, understandably of course. I am so glad I chose this location to order from as I saw Danis and the others take care of the upset customers and seemingly making things right. After dealing with a few upset customers and my order was ready they were still so kind and positive. Keep up the good work Moe's! me and my dad just wanted some lunch.. me and my dad were out grocery shopping at whole foods when we saw Moes so we decided to try as soon as we walked into the place the establishment was empty dead it was quiet i felt like i could hear a pin drop there was a young man behind the glass so we both got ready to place our orders i got a burrito with chicken,white rice, black beans, cheese, sour cream, and lettuce my dad got a bowl w white rice, birria meat, pinto beans, guacamole, pico de gallo,lettuce,cheese,and onion we payed and got our drinks and sat down ready to eat our food.. when i took a bite of my burrito my face fell it was grotesque the chicken was cold veiny and hard as a rock the beans looked and tasted like sewage the tortilla was soggy and the burrito over all tasted like school cafeteria food my dad said that that the birria meat was cold and tasted off he also said the guacamole tasted bland and disgusting my stomach started hurting immediately after we left later when we got home i vomited my meal up do not come here it is disgusting and gross. read more

Staff is super friendly, all their food is extremely fresh. The protein is definitely over seasoned, someone's too salty. I ordered a ancho lime blow, comes with chicken, cilantro lime rice, guacamole, pico de gallo, and fresh squeezed lime... Absolutely delicious!! You can also make it into a burrito. I'm a fan of Moes in general. However this location should give lessons on how not to treat customers. Absolutely one of the worst managed businesses I have ever encountered. No consistency in service and awful customer service. One visit we go in with out son who has food allergies. We order a bowl and explain we just want chicken and rice, nothing else so could he get a extra rice and a little extra chicken. the answer was that we would have to pay extra for more chicken. A little extra chicken for a special needs child who has food allergies and cant eat anything else cant be done ? After calling corporate in Farmingdale we were told that the location was wrong and they are encouraged to help those with food allergies. OK, and even with that we went back another time which was a mistake. This time we order a side of rice and a side of chicken. Employee fills the side cup of chicken half way. I ask for the side cup to be filled and I'm told that will cost double. Turns out a manager was doing work at a table and intervened explaining that a rice side is the cup but chicken is half the side cup. I ask where it says that on the menu and I'm told it doesnt say that. After a ridiculous back and forth conversation with this woman I told her we are leaving. Rather than try to do something to keep us there she lets us leave our $30 order on the counter and walk out. We have been to other Moes locations and never a problem with them giving our son a little extra rice and chicken considering he gets nothing else in the bowl. And at other locations a side a filled cup. This location skimps on everything and has no idea about customer service. And corporate is also failing on this issue. An email to Moes weeks ago has gone unanswered. Fortunately a Chipotle is opening nearby. read more

Great southwestern food at a good price. This location just opened and I tried without success to eat there the day after it opened - the place was packed. I went back today and had a great meal at a good price. They have a touch screen Coke machine that can dispense any coke product with a choice of flavors added - vanilla, cherry, lime, etc.. It takes some time to figure out how to use so on busy days expect a line at the soda machine. I had a delicious burrito and the freshly made chips and salsa were delicious. read more

Moe's is the only place to go for the best Mexican food around! From the warm, gooey queso to the yummy salsa choices, the food was delicious and each meal comes with free chips and self serve salsa! The resteraunt has fun music and is very family friendly. You order your food, as it is passed from worker to worker. There is so many toppings to choose from. This Moe's is very, very, CLEAN. During my visit, I think I watched the manager wipe down the entire cooking area three times. It certainly is a spotless restaurant. But what about the food? Well, I had been a pretty regular customer of Moe's in Glen Cove several years ago, but this was back when I only had 3 choices of this style of Mexican food: either Q-Doba in Hicksville (now closed), Salsa Salsa in Port Jeff, and Moe's Glen Cove (I know they are all over the place, but most of the time I was picking this food up on the way back from LGA or JFK). Back then, Moe's was my favorite of the 3. But, in the last 4-5 years, Chipotle has EXPLODED. Both of my work offices (Huntington and Farmingdale) have a Chipotle within a short drive. Chipotle HIcksville showed up across the street from Q-doba and drove them out of business. They opened the one in Hauppauge too which I can get to in 9 minutes from my house, saving me from the 16 minute drive to Deer Park. What does all this mean? Well, it means that I haven't been to a Moe's in 4 to 5 years. Obviously I like Chipotle better and they were all so much more convenient to me than Glen Cove. Well, Moe's in Commack is now closer to my house than any Chipotle, so I gave it a whirl. Now, the other lengthy review here for this Moe's centers around Moe's blandness. And I have to say, I very much agree. There really is a lack of taste to the food, and it's kind of sad. Although bland, the food is definitely fresh, and the chips are good and the salsa bar definitely can give you the taste that you need. But that shouldn't have to be the case, a burrito shouldn't need to be loaded up with a few different types of salsa just to give it some flavor. I teetered this review between 2 and 3 stars. I settled on 3 because in retrospect, aside from the blandness, I enjoyed the experience. The staff was nice, the place is CLEAN and nicely finished, the prices are reasonable, the chips are good, the salsa is great, the iced-tea is cold and once you've dumped a hearty amount of whichever salsa suits your fancy on the food, it ain't so bad. read more

Isn't Mexican food supposed to be well seasoned & flavorful? We visited Moe's 8-10-12 for the first time. As soon as we opened the door we immediately noticed that the garbage can was over flowing with garbage--not a good sign. The menu was basic Mexican fast food but with stupid names. For example, the fajita I ordered was called a "fat sam" and my boyfriends quesadilla was called a "john coctostan." Why? Maybe they figured giving their food "fun" names would prevent the diner from noticing how unappetizing it really is? The chicken in the fajita (fat Sam) was dry and flavorless. It definitely did not taste or look grilled. It seemed more like chopped up unseasoned, processed, chicken nuggets. Luckily, the sour cream and pico de gallo did a good job of adding flavor. It wasn't terrible but it just wasn't good. My boyfriends steak quesadilla (John coctostan) was better than my food but he had to add plenty of sauces to make it flavorful. He added guacamole to his meal and unfortunately he got the last few spoonfuls the kid behind the counter was able to (literally) scrape from the bottom of the container. Not surprisingly it tasted stale. I understand this is fast food so it's not as if I was expecting a 5 star dining experience. I did, however, expect something along the lines of the quality of Chipotle and Moe's doesn't even come close. read more

The only reason it's getting two stars is because at least two of the many employees here are actually nice or capable of doing their job and I actually like Moe's food but I hate going to this location because of the employees... I placed an online order for pick up through their app and one of the things was a "close talker" which is a salad, I put no shell but when my husband got home with the order my "salad" had no lettuce ... nothing ... I am upset at this point because I'm starving and this location posses me off to begin with. So I usually don't call places because really what are they gonna do at this point, but I call because I want to know what they have to say about why there is no lettuce in my salad. So I call and they put me on hold when I tell them what happened, then some lady Gabriella gets on the phone and she says she's the manager but her lack of knowledge and the way she speaks to me really makes me doubt that she's the manager but then again maybe she is and maybe that's why this location Sucks. She proceeds to tell me that when I order a salad I have to put that I want lettuce! ... because some people don't like lettuce!!... WTF?!?! Went there for the first time with my husband and 3 yr old..the place was packed. So we got on the long line and wanted to see what all the hype was about. I have to say it was worth it. The workers are fast and the food tasted anything but. It was fresh and satisfying.. I ordered the salad bowl with chicken n all the toppings were great. My son had the kids chicken burrito and it was packed with chicken..nice to see they don't skimp on the kiddy meals!
