I read about Dr. Ball online, and from what I can tell, he is known as one of the top glaucoma surgeons and specialists in the country! He has performed three successful laser surgeries on my eyes. I find him to be a serious but very personable doctor who is willing to explain anything to me, and he has a sense of humor. He is busy, but he does what he needs to do and then is off to the next patient. One thing about how they run things at Des Moines Eye Surgeons where is he, (and also I know Wolfe Clinic also), is that you will be shuttled from one waiting room to the next until you actually see the doctor. It is well run, with plenty of nurses and medical assistants, but it can be an hour or an hour and a half before you are out of there. With Covid-19 now, the five or so doctors on staff there alternate days they come in, so the large main and the other waiting rooms are not packed as they are when all the doctors are in. Today, in all the large waiting rooms I was in, there were at most four people - well spread out. My only complaint was that one guy wore his mask under his nose. I just stayed about 20 feet away from him. As for Dr. Ball again, I give him top marks for his abilities, personality and communication skills, compared to many other doctors I have seen over the past 15-20 years especially. All of the staff are very good and friendly, which helps also.

With my license renewal coming up and being in the 50+ class... It was time. Making the appointment online was smooth as butter. I got in early and each of the staff members I worked with was fantastic. I was in and out in what seemed like no time. The longest part of the visit was waiting for the eye drops to do their thing and for my eyes to dilate. Can't say enough good things about how this last visit went... The only bad thing. It's time for bifocals. But that's on God and me...not on them. I really appreciate the time and patience of everyone I worked with while I was there. A really great group!

I felt from the very beginning our doctor never really listened or cared for my son - but was too afraid to switch doctors since everyone told me they were the best. a few years into his care- his bad eye got scratched again and this time it got infected. I was desperate to get him into a specialist and his doctor at Wolfe couldn't get him in for another month. I knew we couldn't wait. I started calling around trying to get him in to see someone right away. PHYSICIANS eye clinic was first on my list and they had a cancellation and was able to get my son in the next day. from the front desk , to the nurse taking him back- to the doctor / s ( we have seen 2 at this clinic ) I could tell - we had finally landed in a place that cared. his primary doctor is Mrs. Amspaugh - she is a mom too , on top of being a doctor and you can tell she really cares. she is super smart - but does't treat you any less , like at WOLFE. I know her schedule was packed for the next few weeks but she literally would get my son in everyday on her lunch hour to follow up with his eye. after a few weeks under her care, she went on vacation and left us with her co/worker - Mr. Hassan - who is just as smart and kind. we feel so grateful to have stumbled upon this office , filled with a staff of very smart , kind , helpful - caring doctors & staff.
