Within one minute of flipping through the book (i.e. not a thorough search), I found twelve instances of marginalia. There is also a prominently-sized name and date written in pen on the inside cover page. No marks indeed! I suspect lack of care in inspection rather than purposeful deceit. We asked if he could use theirs, and they said no. Rather than spending my money with them, I left my stack of books where they were and took my son to the restroom at Barnes & Noble, where I continued my book shopping. As for the bulk of used books I need, I can obtain them via Amazon and AbeBooks, and don't have to support a rude local business that is unhelpful and falls short of providing a quality experience. Why shop local when you can shop at the giants who care about their customers? I will never return.
