Took in one pair of leggings to have a very small hole in the leg fixed. Came back after the date they said it would be done and they hadn't started it. He asked me to come back a few days later. When I did, he charged $20 for a small hole for something I had to drive across town to try to pick up twice because of the incompetence. Check out the photo showing how they were returned to me. If I could give this place a zero star I would. I went in to hammer to skirts and to use the fabric from the bottom to create six belt loops. Not only did they charge me $65 per skirt to hem but $35 per skirt to add the belt loops when I got it back, they took in the waste of the skirt when I did not ask for that and they did not even add the belt loops. They took in the skirt so much that I couldn't even zip it up anymore so I went in and asked to get a refund and the guy helping me said that he can issue a refund because he's not the owner. I paid $200 to get my skirts altered for my job and now I am out two skirts. Please don't go here unless you want to get scammed and get your clothes messed up. read more

I don't particularly appreciate giving bad reviews, and I hope the business owner uses the comments here to improve their business. My opinion is only from my experience alone. I dropped off four pairs of pants to get the buttons fixed and a ripped. I saw they were busy, so I said anytime, but please call me for status. 2 weeks passed, and I left a VM, and no return call. I called today, and they have not fixed it. They said next week! It was concerning that the person I talked to kept hanging up on me and didn't even know about my pants. I am going to get my stuff; I just want a timeframe of when my stuff is ready and the answers are all vague. I was willing to pay more but the fees doesn't even justify the service. $10 each for buttons $20 for one rip; total was almost $100 for pairs of pants that normally a person can fixed at home. read more

I went to this tailor and everything looked legit up until I trusted this man with my dress. He ruined my dress. I told him specifically how short I wanted it and he had the nerve to tell me I gave no direction? Makes no sense to me. Not only was the length of the dress crooked but the top part was way too tight to put on. I told him not to work on my dress anymore and when I asked how much I owed him, he responded "nothing" because he knew he messed up. Then as I was leaving he had the audacity to say that people like me complain so I don't have to pay. Just ridiculous. He didn't offer to compensate for the messed up dress or pay for any of the damages he made. I will never go here ever again. TERRIBLE read more

Would leave zero stars if I could. Dropped off destroyed jeans on Monday. Had a long convo w the owner about piercings and tattoos. He asked when I needed them and said they'd be done by Tuesday. It was a little fix. Would've taken literally a few minutes. I go Wednesday. Owners not there. Guy can't find my pants. Finally does. They're not fixed!!! When I left, one of my dresses had a hole in the sleeve! Luckily I was able to just sew it back myself. Horrible dishonest business. Quoted $6.99 to alter pants. After I spent my entire lunch hour getting fitted for 15 pairs of pants, he changed the price and told me that it was $30 a pair. I LOVE this place! I'm a picky person and Bernie came through! I'm beyond impressed with the hospitality he showed me. Bernie treats this place like its his home and he's welcoming you into it. In addition to his hospitality his manners were immaculate! He altered my wedding dress and every time he needed to unzip he said "is it okay if I unzip" and then he would say "I'm going to unzip now" when he needed to go up and under the dress he would ask permission, every time, then would state what he was doing and why every time. So I got one pair of pants tailored here, I will say they are a bit pricey as I paid $60 for one pair. I asked him to take in and hem the pant legs. He had me try on the pants and he pinned away until I was satisfied with the look of the pants. I didn't have a chance to try on the pants when I went to go pick them up as I was in hurry, which is totally my own fault. Once I got the chance to try the pants on, he did take in the pant legs, but not as much as he had pinned when i first came in, he didn't take in the crotch which I feel like an experienced tailor would know if you take in the legs you have to take in the crotch area or it will look awkward. He did hem the pants to the length I wanted. The problem is that a month wearing the pants, the hem has already came undone. I've washed my pants in the washer on the gentle cycle and hang dry them. These are flight attendant dress pants, so we are not allowed to dry clean them as it will deteriorate the fire retardant film they put on them. So I feel like for the price I've paid for ONE pair of pants and it's already falling apart, it's not worth going here. There are other places you can pay a cheaper price with a better outcome. read more

I did not feel comfortable while getting my alterations done at this business. The assistant was unprofessional and very handsy. I have never gotten alterations done before in the breast area and the man had my entire breast in his hand while inserting a new pad for my dress. I would've been more comfortable if he would have offered me to place the pad myself. I think he spent too much time in that area and touching breasts. We moved onto the waist area. I was wondering if it need taken in, he said he could take it in about 1/2 an inch if needed and unzipped the entire back of my dress exposing my back side and spent too much time back there, pulling my dress open which I felt wasn't needed. I have only had alterations done for the hem of dresses in the past so I wasn't sure if this was normal protocol but in the moment it felt very uncomfortable and strange. After I had gone home and thought about what had just happened I went to Yelp.com to see if there were any reviews comparable to my experience and there were MORE than one review that I found! I chose this business because they have a great review on google. I wish I would've done more research. Will not be returning. read more

I can't speak to their quality, only to their pricing, which is WAY TOO much! I took in 2 dresses both for basic hems and one to shorten the straps. I was quoted at $100 ($40 for each hem and $20 for the straps)!! That seemed extremely high, so I took the dresses to another tailor in Las Vegas and they charged me $25 TOTAL ($10 for each hem and $5 for the straps). Modern Tailoring charged 4xs as much as a different tailor. I understand there may be price discrepancies across businesses, and I'm sure Modern Tailoring does fine work, but if you are looking for basic tailoring on everyday clothes (not wedding dresses or costumes or complex alterations) and you are somewhat mindful of cost, I would go elsewhere. read more

I went in on a Tuesday on my lunch break to drop of two curtain panels. They were 42" and needed them hemmed to 38 1/2 ".... No big deal right. He asked when do I need them by? I said Friday morning (3 DAYS later). He told me it would be $25 per panel, $50 total!!! I hesitated because I never had anything hemmed and wasn't sure if that was an appropriate price, but I was in a rush to get these done and said ok I'll just bite the bullet and get them done. I stop by Friday AFTERNOON..... he told me they weren't done yet, give him 30 minutes...... ugh ok. So I wait in my car for 30 minutes. I come back in and tells me they're still not done!!!!! He apologized and even offered to drop them off at my work across the street, but I'm not going to work. It's Friday and I have errands to run and I live in Summerlin. I told him I'd be back. I honestly thought he would of at least gave me a discount. Nope. Then I realized it cost me more to have one panel done then I paid for both curtains. My fault for not doing more research on pricing and just accepting the price when he told me. read more

Where do I start. I have been here before just to get my pants hemmed and had a good experience which made me come back a second time. This time I did exactly what he talked about which was buy a big shirt and get it tailored. So come in last week and ask him to hem another suit and also fit my shirt he says it'll be no problem. I ask him if he can have it ready by tues the following week and he says he'll have it for sure by 3pm. Fast forward to tues. At 4:30pm when I show up he looks at me with surprise and says he couldn't get it done but that it'll be ready by 3pm next day, I didn't really understand because he didn't even attempt to call me especially when he specifically asked for my phone number. But I figured he was busy and I was nice about it and said it wasn't a problem. I also told him I'm going on a business trip thurs. Morning so I needed it to be done no later than wed. He said it would not be a problem. I come in next day at 3pm like he said and the guy has the same damn reaction as the day before and tells me he's still working on it and it won't be ready until 4:30?? I'm in sales and service is my bread and butter but this guy didn't bother to call me again to let me know that my stuff wouldn't be ready! I have been scheduling my days according to this guy and driving out of my way to go back and forth. 4:30pm, this time I call him and he says it's still not ready and he needed another 20min. I wait until 5:30pm and no attempt yet again so I call him again. He says he's working on it but he needed another 20min. He then finally calls at 6pm and says it would be ready in 10min. I'm pretty frustrated replaying in my mind to see if I did something wrong to deserve this. Finally get to his shop and I try everything on and fits ok. I go to pay and he tries to charge me $30 more than he wrote on the slip. I show him my inv. Slip and he acts surprised and finds the right slip and says he was looking at the wrong slip! Wow! He then give me the right invoice, I ask for a discount because of what had happened snd the freaking guy gives me $10 discount with a half @ss appology! I know this town has terrible service but man this guy tops it all. I would never come here again and don't recommend it to anyone! I wish you can give neg. Reviews. The 5star reviews are probably paid for to fix it. On a side note when I came 6 months ago he had a vest on that he said he got a few days ago that he fixed up and bragging about. This time he says exactly the same damn story and says he got it last week. Puhahahaha what a idiot. I should've known then. All in all I'm mostly pissed off because all he had to do is be honest and make a effort give me a call and I would've had no problem trying to work with it. Do you ever wonder where you can buy perfectly fitting clothes? The answer is: you can't; it's in the alterations. I have been using Bernie for three years and he is a perfectionist. He will not be satisfied if any part of any alteration is not perfect. I have extremely high standards when it comes to my fit and I am never unsatisfied with Bernie. There are very few items that I wear straight "off the rack". I have suit jackets altered 3-4 different ways; my slacks are tapered and shortened perfectly; my dress and casual shirts are shortened and taken in; even my track pants and shorts are tapered. I was looking at getting three pairs of my Levi's 511 jeans tapered bc the calf portion was pretty big and made it look like bell bottoms on me. This was my first time getting jeans tapered by anyone. I searched online to get all the information because I've heard horror stories of tailors cutting the taper too tight or shortening the length instead of tapering them. Anyway, I found Bernie on Yelp as (we've all seen on here) he has five-star ratings. I went to go visit him on a Tuesday, it wasn't busy and he was very accommodating. He fit me right away and I was very surprised yet a bit apprehensive since he only measured one pant leg. I picked up my jeans three days later and I was thrilled.
