The seamstresses here are knowledgeable and helpful. There's a young girl at the counter who's nothing but argumentative, abrupt, and rude whenever I come in. It's been almost a year since I dropped anything off because of her, whereas before I was in weekly with several items for alterations & dry cleaning. No price sheet I could see. I think (?) alterations are $25, which is pretty steep. While this is convenient for SoHi residents I've returned my business to an alterations site across the 15 I frequented for years, where alterations are $12 or less, the staff are friendly & warm & my garments come back as expected. My daughter is 6th grade and wears a size 8-10 in girls, but had an adult size S for her shirt for her orchestra concert. I didn't want her to look like she was swimming in it. I asked around to some moms and they referred me to this place for the alterations. I wish I had a photo of her in the uniform before, but after you couldn't even tell it was a huge shirt. It was pretty pricey (originally $56 but given a discount to make it $44) but my daughter desperately needed it and I'm so glad we came here. Service Started good, but lately it's bad. The last two times, my dry cleaning has come back "smelling fresh" but not cleaned with bits of debris I brought it in for -still present. Need that wine aerator in the shape of a glass octopus wearing a pirate's eye patch? That's me. I'm built weird. I've been called Bulldog to Fireplug, I'm thick in all the wrong places. Short and squat. I have no neck. My noodle arms terminate prematurely so as to be mistaken for a T-Rex often. I'm six pack in my youth has surrendered to a keg from years of beer and buffets. So when a Charles Tyrwhitt advert pops up on FB, I fell for it. 'Custom' has so many interpretations.... After all, it was $39 for the right neck size - done and done. When my shirts arrived, I heard a clown horn sound in the background. Classic fit must mean 'wingsuit' on Saville Row. Fat guy in a little coat started playing in my mind over and over like a bad Taylor Swift song stuck in your head. I didn't have time to run north to go to my usual so I threw another Hail Mary to change Ana's Cleaners with the full expectation that my triple digit online order would eventually end up at Goodwill somewhere. When I met with Ana, she clucked at me like an Old World artisan mother hen who fussed over the amount of fabric that she would need to shear away to make the fit better. Undeterred by a slightly elevated cost, I YOLO'd away an extra hundo to make it look like I wasn't going to take off the dinner table like an attempt to take off by The Greatest American Hero (yes, I aged myself, but I used 'YOLO' and 'hundo' to connect with Gen Z). It paid off. The save was akin to an across-the-court 3 point shot in the last 5 seconds of a playoff game. Even the alignment of the shoulder crease wasn't as bad as we anticipated. At the end of the day, it was enough for me to come back to have a suit jacket shorten on the sleeves and the jacket length. My expensive wedding dress - gifted to me by my mother - was destroyed. Shrunken, looks like it was washed with something green, the lace was ruined and fuzzy. I'm going back on Monday when the owner returns because the person there was acting like it wasn't a big deal. I'm very upset. I went back in there today to talk to the owner; no admission of any fault. I had told her of the mud on the bottom of the dress initially. She tried to flip everything around on me. My dress is ruined, and I think people should be honest when they messed up. The owner told me that my dress was a 2018 design even though Grey Pearl Bridal - an amazing wedding dress boutique I highly have recommended on Yelp - had it custom made for me in 2020. I have been disappointed due to quality of service and alterations here. I paid to have a Michael Kors dress taken in. Side seam was seen very crookedly sewn and also with white thread on the serging (it's a black dress). They also ruined a different dress cleaning. When I dropped it off I asked if it would be safe to dry clean as I wasn't sure and they said yes. Well they were wrong and the design in the dress was peeling after the dress and unwearable. At other cleaners when a garment was ruined, they would pay for it. They would not but only offered to give me cleaning credit. I would feel very differently if they had assured me the dress would be fine. I figured, they are the experts but they were wrong and now my dress worn once is destroyed. read more

Came here to get a long coat altered because it was too big. The staff was pleasant and helpful, and they were able to help me right away and did some pins for what they'd alter, mostly at the back and hemming the sleeves. I had concerns that just doing the back would leave the front still looking slouchy/the arm sleeve dropped down in the front but fine in the back, they said it would be fine. I picked it up as scheduled, no issues, and paid for it. Sure enough though it was fitted nicely at the back, but droopy from the front (the opening for the arm holes were further down my bicep in the front. Unfortunately with the hemming of the sleeves they did, if I pull the arm hole seam to where it *should* fall (right at my armpit), the sleeves are too short. I'm pretty sure the coat isn't usable for me anymore, so I'm chucking this up as a loss on my part for not better advocating for what I think should have been done. read more

Anna is absolutely amazing! I'm getting married and wanted to do something very special for my mom, which is wear her wedding dress for the night of my rehearsal dinner. Anna was able to totally see the vision that I wanted, which was to shorten it, but Anna made sure to keep all the pieces that make the dress so unique and special. She had the idea to save the lace that was originally at the bottom of the longer version (which was super dirty) and had it cleaned which made it look brand new. She then added that lace to the bottom of the new shortened version to preserve the original look, and also made sure to salvage my mom's buttons and added those to the new shortened version as well. She even saved the leftover lace for if I wanted to add it to my bouquet on the wedding day - which was such a great idea that I didn't think of. When I first brought it to her, it wasn't able to zip, but she added a corset that looked like it was part of the original which made it fit perfect. It turned out so beautiful and fits me like a glove! Thank you Anna for all the time and attention you put towards making this dress so perfect and special for my wedding weekend and for all the ideas you had to keep the original look of the dress as much as possible! What at first seemed impossible she made happen. The prices she offers are also unbeatable! Ana's Cleaners RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. After going to this Cleaners for 10 years I hate to have to describe it in such a manner, but I do unfortunately. I was always taught if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all however, I need to post this review. There have been two times where I had to have an item re-cleaned. Therefore I assumed when I brought three white articles of closing back due to dinginess, obvious stains still in the clothing items and also would appeared to be just not professionally cleaned correctly the first time, I assumed there would be no problem ensuring that the items were sent back to ensure customer satisfaction. Especially a long time customer. I grew up wearing a Catholic school uniform. My mother always sent our clothes to the cleaners for professional cleaning and folding. I knew what to expect from the cleaners and all of my shirts worn with my uniform in middle school and high school were white. However, despite my good relationship with the owner and the seamstress who did all my alterations, I was met with extreme discourteousness. I was told there's no way that white clothes should get dirty in this manner. I was told also that the items were already cleaned. Not only was I disparaged and disrespected verbally by the owner, it was absolutely unprofessional the interaction. The owner told me she would have it re-cleaned at her own expense. She did not apologize for the inconvenience of me picking up items that were still not cleaned but instead she fussed and complained, to my surprise. As I was leaving, the person behind me was greeted with a pleasant smile and a warm greeting. This is when I realized I had actually experienced discriminatory behavior, disparate treatment and gross unprofessionalism. Despite being a customer for years, there was no respect given to me and that was completely unacceptable. I do not recommend this cleaning service establishment, Ana's Cleaners in Southern Highlands to anyone who wants professional service and exceptionally clean clothing. When you pay for a service, you expect it to be provided. Update: The owner decided to respond to my review. However, she was not aware that all three items I brought her were actually new. Therefore, her response that dry cleaning doesn't make the items new again is unsubstantiated. The clothes were new and me bringing them to the dry cleaner should've retained the whiteness in the color. Instead, I got them back dingy and not purely white. If the owner spent more time responding to every other comment and review, she might have an awakening and listen to what is being said about her establishment and her lack of professionalism. She needs to make some changes. In addition, Ana needs to respect all of her customers. She needs to appreciate the longtime business that her customers brought her over an extended period of time. It is interesting that my observation have been shared by others who posted similar reviews when they had a singular problem or question about a clothing item or alteration. Remember the customer is always right and that is how you do good business. An apology and humility goes a long way towards customer service and satisfaction. Dropped off my shirt and jacket at 10:30am on Wednesday, was told it would be done at 5:00pm on Thursday. I found out my meeting was pushed earlier and I called as soon as they opened to pick up my suit and jacket, before what I assumed would be their cleanup schedule to make it on time, and was screeched at by a defensive worker about how they didn't do their own cleaning and how I should've KNOWN to ask for a "same day special" and while trying to talk she argues how it was a same day service but not done in 24 hours. Then hangs up before telling me when I can receive my own property. If anyone had mentioned/advertised/pushed for a same day special I would've happily paid. But to be berated and then hung up on for not knowing and then questioning the fact that they are a dry cleaning service that doesn't dry clean, I'm giving them enough stars to warn our neighbors to find another company. Their workers are rude, do not communicate, and do not provide the stated service. Awful people at an awful place. 20 minutes after I posted this, Ana contacted me and also berated me on how I should've know the options and them not doing their own work. I asked if it was listed anywhere on their services and after admitting it wasn't she hung up and won't return calls. I needed a pair of pants to be sewn as they had ripped. I asked if the fabric could be tucked into the seam where the rip was and sewn so that the thread/tear couldn't be noticed. I was told "yes" by Gloria. Picked up the pants today and I could've done the same job at home. The thread and see job was done on the OUTSIDE of the pants instead on the inside. You can see from the photo, they just bunched up the pants and closed the hole on the outside of the pants. No care for professionalism or pride in their work. The thread is popping out and not neat at all. I asked if this was normal and would it tear again and was told they were fine. I rarely use dry cleaning services, but I needed my husband's suit cleaned for an important work event. I dropped the suit off on Monday, it was promised after 5pm on Wednesday. On Wednesday when my husband arrived after 5pm to pick it up, the owner said it was not ready due to some sort of equipment failure that occurred on Wednesday morning. ... So, why didn't they clean it on Tuesday or at the very least call on Wednesday morning to let us know it wouldn't be ready?? My husband and I love this place! They are honest, quick, and do a great job. We get a lot of things altered because we like our clothes to fit a certain way and we dry clean our dresses and suites after wedding events. They give you advice if you're not sure how you should alter your clothes and tell you if it's worth it or not. I met Ana for the first time a few weeks ago, she is so knowledgeable and friendly. She was easy to talk to and funny! Her pricing is reasonable and her shop was clean and organized. I was greeted right away by a young worker there. The fitting room is a little on the tiny side for someone to try and slip on a wedding gown, but other than that no complaints!
