This liquor store should be so stinking good but they run out of certain beers every single week. They have a massive beer cooler too. I legitimately have no clue how it's possible to run out of some of these. It should be illegal to run out of F5 in Oklahoma. I was looking for a decently priced bottle of Riesling, and i didn't have much time to get to my regular store. I found Modern spirits was open and nearby, so why not? After searching every section of wines and not finding any Riesling, I asked the employee for help. I was told that the only Riesling they had was in the far corner and consisted of a single bottle, which was very much above my budget. read more

My company called ahead and asked if we could have empty boxes for our Taste of Tulsa fundraiser, their employee simply said yes. I went to pick up what I thought they pulled for us, after I took a few out and came back for more a very rude, hateful young woman reprimanded me publicly stating "You need to buy something in return for those boxes, we're not a box store we are a liquor store"! There was much more said but I don't want to mis-quote. No one told us that over the phone so, I was not aware And I would've been happy too do so. She referenced a sign stuck to the wall blocked by boxes, about 10ft from the floor. I'm 5"2 so I did not see it. I'm not clear why the other employees that treated me nicely didn't make me aware upon arrival either. As a 50 year old Director of Accounting and not some scumbag thief I was completely offended by her tone and embarrassed by the way she spoke to me, never will I ever buy anything from them nor recommend them to anyone. We work with liquor stores all over Tulsa this time of year promoting their businesses, this will not be one of them. read more

I stopped in for some beer and was presently surprised by their selection. They have a nice section for local beers and some of the better American micro brews. This is a small complaint, and I understand why they wouldn't but, their cheap beer selection (Stroh's, Pabst, Old Style...) is rather small. I didn't take a good look around at the wines and spirits, but the quick look I grave indicated a rather nice selection. The store is large and well lit with plenty of staff. There was even, at least, one security guy in the store. Parking is convenient and the lot is big enough that it shouldn't be a problem most times of day. read more

Right now it is the only liquor store in downtown Tulsa. For the beer selection I would give 5 stars. The wine selection is pretty good. The distilled spirits are somewhat lacking especially in the Rye whiskey area and scotch areas which is what I am usually looking for read more

I was really excited to see a new upscale liquor store open in the downtown area. However, I was really disappointed after my first visit. I will say they have a good selection of spirits. They have the typical bottles and several unique ones I haven't heard of and their staff was pleasant. They do have one major flaw though, their prices are absurd. I went in there to buy a 1.75l of Makers Mark which is about $45-$48 anywhere in town. They were asking $61.99 which is a solid $15 over other stores. I would be more than willing to shop there if they can get their prices in line with others in the area. read more

I walked in Saturday evening, one employee was just leaning on a counter and the other was reading a book. I said, How is it going? and I just got a glare, no other response. I was looking for some German beer but found nothing that I could not get at Walmart for a lower price. This place is lame, employee wise and stock wise. I will not go back. read more

This downtown liquor store is BALLER. Located just across from Home Depot there is plenty of parking which is good since you'll want a good spot to haul out all the goods you'll find here! What sets Modern Spirits above the bar (teehee) for me is 1: The selection is outstanding but they don't cram it all so close together. It's comfortable to move around with a cart to explore. 2: The IPA beer and boxed wine selection (helllo box rosé!) is one of the best in town. A million modern cheers! read more

Store is a joke. Called the store and told them i was in from out of town and on foot. I was told they have a decent whiskey selection. This could not have been farther from the truth. I have seen better selections at a gas station. The staff is dishonest and the store is awful. Don't bother. read more

this place is clutch due to the fact it's up the street from me. the significant thing about this place is that they support A LOT of local companies here. there are so many different types of beer to choose from, most i haven't heard of due to the local companies. they have your typical choices of alcohol (i.e. ciroc, jack daniel's, etc). make sure you check out the type of deals they have on the back wall as well. you can make your own pack of beer by choosing different varieties of beers. read more

This is a very convenient liquor store located in downtown. It is a little more expensive than some of the stores in south tulsa, but for the convenience it really is not too bad. They have a pretty decent selection on whiskey and beer. Definitely check it out. read more

I enjoy shopping at Modern Spirits. The store is always clean and properly stocked. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Excellent liquor store for downtown residents and Tulsa visitors staying in the surrounding hotels. read more
