I just had the worst encounter at Harvard Liquor. I just moved into the neighborhood nearby and…read morepopped in to check out the wine selection. I'm usually pretty friendly and chatty with strangers so I said hello, then made a little joke about how they probably don't sell much wine (because they are directly across from TU, so I imagine it's more like beer and liquor sales.) The man behind the counter stood up and told me I didn't have to be rude, and to go ahead and go, and was very short with me. I asked for clarification because I was confused. He told me I "could have kept that to myself." He appeared visibly intoxicated and was aggressive. It was 6:30 pm on a Monday (today). I'm very confused by the encounter and also disappointed, as I would have loved to pop into my closest liquor store to pick up beer or wine on occasion, but I will not be returning to Harvard Liquor.

They had really good service. Years later upon this visit, the service isn't quit what it was. Staff was talking to each other but didn't interact with us or the folks around us. The store itself is the same, still clean and well kept. I was a bit disappointed in the whiskey aisle, as it was extremely limited and the space was small. Other location seem to have a wider selection, this store didn't have much. They didn't have 1792, which isn't allocated and others stores in the area carry it, Buffalo Trace, matter of fact any BT brand was absent. Penelope was another one that I didn't see. The Rye selection was limited. Prices are ok, some were a good deal, others were a bit more than what I usually pay.
