Jasmine and the team at Modern Selections were just fabulous. I ordered a Calligaris Seattle buffet and needed it delivered for a Corporate Board Meeting at our Technology Center in the Silicon Valley in 10 days, and they made it happen. Everyone from Jasmine to the driver, George, were phenomenally professional -- they were in constant contact with me. The buffet was delivered on time and looks beautiful. Even though many other websites indicated they had this Italian-made buffet it in stock; after inquiring on it, I found out it normally has a 6 - 8 week time. I contacted several sites before finding Modern Selections. Jasmine was able to find the cabinet in the exact color specs I wanted in San Francisco and have it delivered within a week. And the price was right -- they delivered for free and were quite reasonable compared to others who were selling the same cabinet. Modern Selections was an absolute pleasure. In contrast, I worked with DWR on a lot of furnishings for the office back in March and April, and I had the worst experience with them -- and they're a high-end designer store of mid-century modern furniture. i purchased a brown leather soft padded chair (Eames style) - i am sitting in it as i type this and i couldn't be happier. I called Modern selections looking for a quality Eames repro several months ago and Jasmine was a sweetheart. and highly knowledgable. She talked me through it carefully and suggested the aluminum soft pad high back chair in leather .. and she even cut me a deal.. the chair was back ordered and was delayed a few times but in the end the waiting was worth it.. Everything Jasmine said about the chiar is true. It's extremely well made (with hardly any assembly required by me) and infinitely comfortable and looks gorgeous. This is my second purchase on modernselections.com; my first one was for two Artemis loung chairs"Wegner shell chair" and I was greatly impressed by the quality of what I received - the American walnut plywood finish is outstanding and the chairs look brilliant...love my "shell chairs" they are now the focal point of my loft. This time I am interested in alexander barstools in white leather, Steve from MS answered to my request and promptly shipped the barstools to me within 3 business days. One of the worst experiences I have ever had before. Shipping was fast however I received faulty product. Instead of the company taking back the faulty product and sending me a replacement chair. I had to take photos of the damage, submit it to customer service and wait while they filed claims with both manufacturer and shipping. I have yet to receive my new chair. When I called customer service they were very rude and condescending saying that if I had only waited another 24 hours I would have received notice about shipping; I have not received that either; I had to call to get it myself. There were a few moments in the conversation with the customer service manager that I was actually laughed at. Customer service should actually provide a service. Our company will never do business with this company ever again. Buyer Beware! read more

I ordered a counter stool from this company via Houzz and sent it back to the company. The manager said she would refund the money and reimburse me for partial excessive shipping charges back( $134!) but would only do that if I removed the negative review I gave them on Houzz. In addition, the manager "L" said she would write a negative review about me as a Realtor, even though she and I never worked together in that capacity at all. I would not do that and said that if she threatened that again she would be sued. She refused to send me the money and I consequently filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and with Houzz. I know the company has received other negative reviews as well but this goes well beyond poor customer service--I have the email to prove that she agreed to send me the reimbursement for the shipping. Moreover, Houzz stated that the vendor refused to cooperate with them. NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. I found Modern Solutions while looking for conference room chairs. We needed a large order, and the ones we wanted were out of stock. Rafayel helped me find a similar chair and we ordered it. They arrived three days later, pretty impressive! Be warned, if you make a big order, it will arrive in a big freight truck on a palette. You need to be prepared to unload that. The delivery guy took them off the palette and handed us the boxes one-by-one, but it still took a lot of work to get them from the curb to our office. Have a few people on standby. These chairs were inexpensive, but look and feel nice. There were a few defects in our large order, and Rafayel promptly shipped replacement parts. I didn't listen to the negative reviews but please listen to mine. I received 4 very uncomfortable counter stools. I wanted to return them so I emailed the company. They said to go ahead and return them to the carrier of my choice and insure them and email the tracking numbers. They told me they would charge me shipping to and from in addition to a 20% restocking fee. What they failed to mention was that the cheapest shipping cost was $515!!! No shipping return labels, no paperwork or receipts in the boxes. So basically, I paid $515 shipping one way, plus shipping cost to me plus a 20% restocking fee for uncomfortable chairs I don't want??? I also had to haul 4 refrigerator sized boxes by myself to the carrier. Without providing a shipping label, I couldn't call ups for pick up, etc. Do not do business with this company! I have never had this with any other company ever.. I lost a lot of money !!!! Unprofessional and not competitive with other furniture companies and their standards... read more

Purchased a Replica Mid Century Modern Brand New Fritz Hansen in Tan Leather sofa from a Craigslist Ad., hired movers who set the couch up in my place while I was out of town. I came home to deflated cushioned couch that was practically Orange not Tan! When you sit on the couch, it is like sitting on wood. I tried to return the sofa and they would not allow me to or offer an exchange. I am reporting them to Better Business Bureau as now out money, time and energy. I should have paid more attention when I read these reviews, as I had basically the same experience as P.M.B. This is probably the most bizarre experience I have ever had in purchasing furniture and I had purchased many pieces of furniture online. I also received a faulty product. Nothing really happened until I contacted American Express, then they finally agreed to give me a partial refund or I could wait 6 weeks for a new chair. I wanted a new chair, however, they insisted that I return the faulty chair in the exact same packaging. The problem was that the box was torn during shipment and could not be used to return the chair. The company insisted that because the chair could not be returned in the same box, they would not send a replacement chair. Really strange, this original packaging return policy seems intentionally designed so that it is almost impossible to return faulty products. The chair was not packaged well; the bottom of the box was too thin to properly hold the weight of the chair. I have received damaged furniture before, which was purchased online, and did not have any trouble either getting a new piece or the fault corrected. I received nothing but the runaround from Modern Selections. Think twice before buying anything from this company. read more
